Nice fabrics- thank you for sharing! That blue floral does look kind of ‘grandmotherly’ - I love it. But, then I’m old enough to be your grandmother 😊. Thought you were sitting at my table, mine looks just like that!
Green Fairy Quilts in St. George Utah sent me a free extra yard. I’m new to quilting and have ordered once from Fat Quarter Shop, once from Missouri Star, Once from Green Fairy Quilts and once I ordered a charm pack from Amazon. I didn’t have problems with any, but Green Fairy Quilts went above and beyond. I ordered 2 yards of a Lori Holt fabric from her Mercantile collection and Green Fairy sent an extra yard with a note. “Hope this helps” or it said something close to that. I couldn’t believe it. How did Green Fairy know I was so green that I didn’t even know I would need that extra yard for the back of the quilt I was planning? I will be ordering more from them in the future.
I always love seeing fabrics and thinking about their potential use in a quilt. I like all of your fabrics, even the Grandma one! I feel like you will find a use for all of them in a quilt and I will enjoy watching what you do with them. Sorry that you did not get the full amount of certain fabrics. 😢. Happy quilting…………………….
A washing suggestion, I normal a seam with tiny stitches maybe 1/8” along the two cut ends before I wash them. Can’t wait to see what u do with the birds!!!! I am currently buying some Anna Maria flowers which I think r less grandma-ish, and some Seth apter, and Tim holtz, look them up if u have seen their fabric. Very unique.
Sorry to hear the FQS shorted you. I have shopped from them without issues, but I think I am going to start going to local quilt shops or from smaller quilt stores online. You are right, for a good paying customer to report a 1/4 yard ..." a 1/4 y-a-r-d" short and they play hardball is not good business practice. Not like you said they shorted you a bolt. Anyway.. Thank you for sharing.
Nice free spirit fabrics. I wouldn’t be ordering from them again. It really bothers me to get short changed. I know it bothersome to send things back or whatever but if enough people who don’t settle let them know they might be more careful.
Basic Grey's "Black Tie" and it's 'cousins' are what I collect... love them...still have an unopened Jelly Roll from 7 years ago! I actually love that blue floral that you purchased,.. my fav. out of all that you bought! I would definately let Moda know about shipping shortage... out here, Jelly Rolls and Layer Cakes, in Canada from Quilt Shops, run about $70 each... yardage prices are crazy...you need to receive what you paid for...especially with how expensive Moda fabrics are... always check your amounts prior to washing!
Love the bird prints and the wide back you chose is just beautiful! Looking forward to your creations with these! I realize having to take a photo to receive the portion you didn’t receive is somewhat of a hassle but that fabric is gorgeous!!! FQS is one of my favorite online shops and thankfully I’ve not ran into any problems with my orders. I do know they’re team is excellent in customer satisfaction and how important it is to them for customers to allow them to make us all happy. It’s just a “Bump in the road” as they say. Hope you will notify them so they will be aware of this situation and expedite your purchase. Thanks Nora♥️🧵
You always find cool fabric to buy. I really like Rachel Hauer’s designs, but I don’t make projects that her fabrics would work in. I can see you using those birds in your projects though. I’ve been fortunate that online shops I’ve bought from haven’t shorted me, but some are always quite skimpy in their measuring. Fat Quarter Shop and another (I think it’s Shabby Fabrics) are more generous. I surge all my raw edges before I prewash (usually using Synthrapol and Carbona Color Grabbers) my fabrics. I have the same problem with color looking different online than in real life. I wish online sellers would tell us things like whether a red is orange-red, blue-red, or just red. I’d also like to know whether I’m getter a pure hue, or a tone, or a shade. I have a stash full of orange-red and teal due to computer color issues. It seems like manufacturers don’t want to give out that information, and that’s where descriptive info for retailers would come from.
I am reeeally looking fwd to what you do with these fabrics! Cutting large prints is intimidating for me. I’m trying to use only my stash & so far so good. So far.😊
H i, just a heads up. I think if I were shorted twice, I'd think twice about ordering.from them. It's not fair to the consumer. That wouldn;t happen in a fabric store and they should be paying more attention. I don't want to sound like a crab, but you are paying for what you order. Enough said. I love your channel. Especially your crumb piecing projects.
Nice dining-room table. We have one that the top is the same. The blue flower fabric is gorgeous. So is that last fabric. ✌🏻♥️

FQS shorted me, too. I've stopped buying from them.
