Thankyou so much for this info..my neighbour has a beauty but didnt know what it was...i found out so i will now take some cuttings, it is a beautiful shrub, and yes rhe foliage too...🌿🌿
I have taken 6 weigelia cuttings and they have all taken to the point that I have now potted them on. However they have grown from 2 inch cuttings to 10 inches. Do i need to cut the tops off to get them to bush?
Possibly a stupid question but do the cuttings need to be that small or can you cut a large section of the bush and do this on a larger scale? I have a large bush in the front garden that I want to replicate in my rear garden.
I just discovered a huge Weigela bush in the underbrush at the edge of the yard of this house I bought a year ago. I didn’t even know what it was. I noticed the pink blossoms in the spring and flagged it to not be cut down. But in watching TH-cam videos, I discovered it is weigela! So my question is, can I propagate it from cuttings at this time of the year? It is August 25, 2022.

I took Wiegela cuttings last month , put 4 in a pot ( no sand ) and I now have at least 6 lovely strong cuttings ready to pot on.
Hi, thinking of doing myself just now. How are your plants looking 10 months on, decent size? Thanks.
Which zone are you located? I’m wondering do we need the greenhouse for it in winter after the cutting?
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

Did you cut them?
