Best mini SUV ever. And you're right. They are getting scarce. Too many people crushing them or putting them out in fields and won't let go of them to people that won't put them back on the road. With all the garbage coming out now, everyone needs to start preserving every S Truck (and other classic) part possible.

I had a maroon one with the 2.8 that I liked mechanically, EXCEPT the vacuum system was an awfully engineered. When it rained, going up a hill, the vacuum fails, so the windshield wipers, A/C, defroster, and cruise control all would quit at once. Think: a design in which the wipers fail when it rains. I tried replacing the vacuum rubber, put in a bigger vacuum reservoir... still failed. I didn't have time to fiddle with it so I sold it. Next time I saw it, the paint on top was peeling. Sad. I really wanted to like and keep that SUV. You couldn't beat the sound of the doors and hood closing!
They were heavy built little trucks, rhe interiors were rugged also imo...the vacuum issues were a prevalent issue however...but all in all great trucks.

I think his opinion on 2019 cars durability verses 1989 is way off. Even design. I have a 94 s10 blazer and have had vehicles every decade afterwards. The newer stuff is so much more durable. Even KIA's have improved in the last 5 years. I've never had a kia though. Only gm stuff. But I am glad he loves that thing. I'm starting to work on my dad's 94 s10 blazer and make it road worthy. It's very clean. Cracked dash though. I'll fix that. I plan to anyway.
Cool truck. I had a black 2wd '85 in highschool in the mid 90s. Kinda miss it. Great body style. Yes they are getting rare. Interior dash style changed in 86 or 87 I believe. I was stuck with the 2.8 v6 but wanted the 4.3 haha. Thanks for the video!

I’m 41 now and never forgot the feeling I got seeing these square bodies on the road cruising 🤤 happy to say after one failed attempt I just managed to buy a 1991 gmc jimmy, and have been planning this project out in my head for 20+ years, I can’t wait to get started! They are becoming super rare Ive searched nation wide countless times and between the blazers and jimmy’s the search returns could be counted on one hand! I met a guy by chance last month and he happens to be a car dealer who the day after meeting him texted me with info of a 91 jimmy coming across the auction block. We won the bid for $500 😁👏🏼 and the truck now sits in my garage. It runs mint shifts smooth stops on a dime and the interior is in great shape. One owner truck sitting on a farm in CT after the owner passed away the family put it on auction! I plan on video documenting the entire rebuild.
Had an '88 GMC Jimmy 2.8 back in the 90's, sold back in '01 due to severe rust. Would've kept it if it weren't for the rust. It was a two tone brown and beige color. That car had a lot of character; and very strong. Totaled three cars with that thing.
I have a 1999 chevy Silverado 8ft bed 2wd 5-speed stick with the v6 Vortec and I really have been thinking of selling or trading for one of those do you think it would be worth trading or selling my truck and I have put different light covers in and put LEDs in and I did all the back brakes, Idk what do you think should I do
Well depends on the use of it really, the blazer is quicker, lil better on gas, the truck is a bit stronger for pulling simply because of gearing and weight. If your only doing light towing the blazer will get it done, and you gain passenger room...if you plan on hauling id keep the pickup.
I have a 1991 Chevy Blazer two door V6 4.3 liter. It's Black paint. I want to get it restored it was my father's last work vehicle. He bought brand new at a local Chevrolet dealer on September 30, 1991. After retiring from the railroad in 2007 after forty years of service to two different railroads he further retained the vehicle. He gave it to me in February 2014 thereabouts. I have had mechanical upgrades and maintenance done. The interior is pretty clean. I just need to repaint it and get exterior redone nearly whole. I just wanted to know if the side fender trims are that difficult to get? Over the years I have had male drivers and occupants on city streets ask if I would sell it. Any advice on any exterior concerns I should have?

@@fastdraw30 I had a 89 Jimmy Gypsy package that my dad bought new in 1989 . It was decked out but also rusted to the core from MI winters. I also had a mint 1994 Blazer that got T-Boned and totaled out. I really want another square body S10 Blazer or Jimmy. That's such a clean truck you had 👍

The covers are made by GTS, and those wheels were 90s NOS I got on ebay..rhey were made by Pure...cant get them anymore.
