I was fishing with anglers that I had never met before Coaster. A friend that agonised the trip (Jim) managed to get together 22 anglers and we had a great time. the hospitality and generosity of the guys were something that you can only dream about.. I have put my name down for next years trip. Cheers Iain. 🥃.
Thanks Paddy I spent a while looking at the old Spey patterns and John was the perfect host. I couldn't add all that I recorded as the video would have taken hours to upload Cheers Iain. 🥃
Not today! Lovely part of the Country and the sequence showing the rainbow and a splash of sun would have fitted well on any canvas. A good day nevertheless and a very civilised way to start it off!! Tight lines Iain for the next time. 🍺🍺
It's a few days like that that makes you think I am never taking up skiing or golf . Once the leaves start to come out on the trees there is no where in. the world more beautiful . to start the day of with new friends that are knowledgeable about all things Scottish was a treat Cheers Iain. 🥃
Garry is one of the best casters that I have seen Marcel and a joy to follow down a pool I have more recordings of him in the next video (with watching to see him. ) Cheers Iain 🥃
Thanks very much, Iain wonderful video. Maybe the fish were under the rainbow? I wish I could have joined you and the lads for a breakfast whiskey, and some lovely Scottish sun. Cheers and tight lines!
It's usually a pot of gold under the rainbow but I would have settled for a bar of silver Mike . The breakfast in the hotel was a good tightener and the wee dram helped wash it down ........ Tight lines for your season Cheers Iain. 🥃
Most of the guys that fished I had never met before Peter . it is amazing how like minded anglers are like brothers when we get together . some were still singing at 2.30 in the morning ........ I will mention no names I have added my name to next years list for the trip . I hope to meet with Jim that organised the trip and fish on his beat sometime soon. Cheers Iain. 🥃
Thank you Richard I am fortunate to meet so many interesting guys at the river and hopefully I can get the chance to meet more on my trips in the future Cheers Iain 🥃
Jim the guy that organised the trip had just pulled out names from the 22 anglers that were fishing and split them into groups . I had never met any of the boys that were fishing on the same beat Tommy but had a great time . I could not put all the conversations that I recorded onto TH-cam but saved them so I can blackmail them later 😜 Cheers Iain 🥃
Hi Iain, once again great video and the conditions weren’t that bad but looked very cold but no rod bent this time but that’s salmon fishing for you. Very impressed with the flies in the fisherman’s hut on display I think if you put one of them on you might have been in there. 🤣. Great video Iain and what a cracking bit of water. Haven’t done much here had a day last Wednesday but didn’t see or get attached to anything. Water is back in flood again so hopefully should see and hopefully catch one. Cheers Iain . 🥃 Steve.
The rivers have been so high and as soon as they are coming to a decent level they shoot upward again. The Kings hut is something to behold and John is bursting with information about the flies and the estate that many anglers spend very little time fishing and get engrossed in his stories. The rivers seem to be settling and hopefully you can pick a fish up . I have been out a few times since this video and still fighting the weather. Cheers Iain 🥃
Another day and the salmon stalwarts provide us with some interesting insights into salmon flies. Kings Hut a real gem I am sure for any angler. . Recommended reading "The feather thief" by Kirk Wallace Johnson. Thanks again Iain!
The Spey flies that John and Garry had tied were something to behold Christopher I would have made the trip to Speyside just to view there skills and listen to their conversations Cheers Iain 🥃
its been a while since we met up Gregor I am sorry to hear of your loss I hope that life is treating well and you have great time at Tulchan Tight lines Cheers Iain. 🥃🥃🥃
At this time of year Paul. we go fishing in the hope of catching a fish but in reality its a very slim chance , but as long as there is a chance we will be on the river bank tight lines Cheers Iain. 🥃.
It has been a difficult start to the year Burnie. it had been about 30 years since I had fished Tulchan and once there wondered that it had taken so long to get back there Cheers Iain 🥃
I could have spent hours editing the inside of the Kings hut . it is much better if you have the chance on the next trip to get inside and have John explain everything inside Cheers Iain. 🥃
@IainSB I think if I go next year I get to fish on A beat first then move down the next days. Looking forward to it already. Got quite a bit of fishing planned this year though. Hopefully manage to organise a cast with yourself at some point too.
I once fished Bemersyde and asked the ghillie why the fish didn’t use the slower stream. He said they didn’t know as they hadn’t made the trip before. I had a fresh springer.
Hahaha breaks out the whiskey for breakfast! My sort of friends. Cheers from Minnesota, USA.

Great video Iain great to see A beat as I didn't fish it this year. Very interesting seeing inside the Kings hut.

I like your pal's measures.
The measures kept our spirits up for a while 😜. Cheers Iain. 🥃

keep asking the questions Richard as one day you will get an answer that will direct you to another fish. Cheers Iain 🥃
Did everyone blank not much fish about now but you just have to keep trying 🤞next time
There were a couple of us that had a pull James but no one in our party managed a fish Cheers Iain. 🥃
It's a shame there wasn't a wee fish for you at the end of that rainbow
I thought that at the time Frank A lump of silver instead of a pot of gold would have been brilliant. Cheers Iain 🥃.
