    Thanks so much for this, this seems to be one of the only videos I could find with this specific float type (most of them demonstrate the kind with the integrated screw). Ultimately adjusting the float didn't fix my problem (from additional research it sounds like there might be a decayed washer), but it helped me troubleshoot. Thanks again!

    Perfect, very well explained. She has a soft calm voice. This lady's voice is also used in sci-fi films, when the mother-ship does a count down self-destruct sequence. "Warning. 3 minutes to Self-Destruction". The same sort of thing can happen with plumbing, well mine anyway, i.e. water hitting the ceiling. Still, I digress, great vid. Thank you.

    Thank you, fixed my problem. I have just moved into a new house and obviously the usless plumbers could not be bothered to adjust the float valves, we had to flush twice everytime we went to the toilet.

    This problem has increased my blood pressure significantly in the last few weeks, but one view of this video was enough to help me fix the problem in 10 minutes. Can’t thank you enough.
    As with another commenter, I had to loosen the apparatus from outside of the toilet’s body to allow me to turn it, which then allowed me to adjust the height.

    Excellent explanation. Thankyou for this video. I knew there had to be an adjustment, but I didn't know where it was. The float chamber was hard up against the back wall of the new cistern, not allowing me to twist the valve. I had to loosen the water inlet valve white plastic nut under the cistern, and turn the whole inlet valve quarter of a turn clockwise, retighten the nut, so I could then twist the valve and raise it to achieve the correct water level. Thanks again.

      Sorry I didn't notice this question! Our toilets use a 'washdown' system. Unlike the siphonic toilets typically used in North America, you don't have to create a siphon to initialize the flush. The majority of water is kept in the tank and when flushed, drops at a good force which is used to push the waste out, followed by the water. (Siphonic uses the water in the bowl to create a siphon which pulls the waste out afterward). So - washdown gives you superior line carry - as the water follows the waste and thus pushes it out past your home and into the city system. Also - we can maintain an extremely large trapway - again because it isn't used to create a siphon. So, it is almost impossible to clog our toilets. So yes - there isn't as much water in the bowl as you may be used to, but the result is an extremely efficient product that protects your plumbing lines and doesn't clog. It's basically the only system used in Australia, Europe etc. Hope that answers your question.

    Good video but annoying toilet design because you cannot adjust the water level in the bowl. It completely sucks.

    • @monawinters6491
      @monawinters6491 ปีที่แล้ว

      it wouldn't help to adjust the water level as the outlet valve will only allow so much water through - that is high efficiency design. But the 4" trapway means that there are no clogs, and these toilets get phenomenal flushes and drain carry.

  • @khaleefax9553
    @khaleefax9553 ปีที่แล้ว

    *How do you raise the water level in the toilet bowl? This is my biggest turn off with these great toilets that never seem to clog, but the lower water level in the bowl makes the toilet very messy.*
