Info on how to adjust a dual flush toilet and clean for calcium buildup. Great product to remove calcium buildup- CLR Cleaning Kit @amzn.to/42vmEUB BTW- how to unclog a garbage disposal @ • Video
I cannot believe it was so simple. I have two of these toilets and your tutorial saved me the embarrassment of telling guests they might need to flush twice. I agree with you that l wouldnt purchase these again.
Thank you sooo much, as a woman an a budget this saves me so much money. This video was the best match for my toilet, it was still a little different but ultimately so helpful. ☮️💟🇬🇧🇯🇲🇲🇶🇱🇨👍🏾
Thanks man! My toilet wasn’t filling at all after changing the water valve. It turns out I forgot I was playing around with the fill valve to see if that fixed the water hammer noise and I left the floater with no give. Saved me from going to Home Depot for the 4th time! 😂
Thanks for your help you saved me from buying another toilet, my Jacuzzi lives to see another flush. Wow I had the same problem slow flush and I did have calcium in my plunger and that trick to move those blue tabs all the down made a Super BIG!!!! difference in the flush. Now it feels like my toilet wants to suck me in too like an airplane toilet lol.
I had the same problem. I rubbed it down with a soft cloth to remove the calcium. I removed the silicone seal and wiped it off. All good. Great video very thorough. Thanks.
Thanks for the very informative video, it saved the day for me. The tank was draining very, very slowly. The cartridge had lime build up on the seal. Fixed per your video. Cheers!
This was very helpful. For some reason my plunger had developed a bubble in the rubber seal. I popped it like a pimple and now it’s working fine. I didn’t know you could take that thing apart and service it until this video. Thank you!
Realistically, if your toilet was flushing fine, no need to make it use more water. I just bought 2 of these, because they were 200$ on clearance for 45$ each, and oval with the silent close toilet seat. It's actually allot more comfortable to sit on and an easier target to hit when standing, so far we are very happy especially since we paid so little for them. Gotta love LOWES around the last week of January, that's when they clear out the previous years bath stuff - hint hint... We got a 3 piece glass shower for 90$ as well, retail was 585$. Yeah, the little guy wins once in awhile...
Every once in a while it’s good to put some activated charcoal in the tank, it slightly acidifies the water dissolving mineral buildup and also absorbs minerals in the hard water
you solved my problem with one sentence. the 'out hole' in the toilet is where the water is supposed to rush out. mine fills fine, but you have to hold the flush valve down... sometimes it flushes all the way, sometimes not. but if you dump a pot of water in really fast, whoosh and down it goes, so not the 'disappearing' end of the toilet. i took the flush valve out and cleaned it top to bottom, but it back and still the same thing... took the part from the duplicate toilet in the basement and same thing, but both flush valves worked in the downstairs toilet, so obviously it's the toilet not the flush valve. on with the rubber gloves and whaddaya know, i could actually feel crunchy bits all around the inside of that front hole (sure there is a technical name)... just about out of CLR, so i dumped a whackload of vinegar in it. not sure how much my septic tank critters will like that but better than chemicals... so thanks! pretty sure that's going to fix it. 5 mins later. took a tiny screwdriver, with the handle down into drain hole, and gave a few pokes at the calcium crunchies and they came off no problem... back in business!!
You mention using a wire brush. While the CLR is great for removing calcium deposits, I would not use a wire brush on the plastic parts. It will scratch them and those scratches can actually introduce leaks. Just use a brush with plastic bristles. An old tooth brush is good: I take all my used tooth brushes out to the garage/shop for a second life.
I'm having issues with filling up faster. Mine takes like 2.5 minutes. This dual toilet is almost like mine. Is it possible you do a video how to fix the slow water 💧 flow? Thanks again!! 😁😁😁
Just got one of those types an it seems that the bowl doesn't fill enough it seems that the overflow is to short so the tank only fills less then a foot. But it seems like it has a strong flush. It is brand new I was wondering if I add a piece of pipe on the overflow would that fill up the bowl higher so the (Mr. Hanky) would have a deeper end 💩 You showed me a few things on this type of plumbing good information. Thanks !
This is a shit toilet cheap about 100 dollars it might do the job for you but I went an got a toilet about 200 dollars you get what you pay for an thought I was gonna get this type of toilet that had a hole new type of toilet technology but it's more like a turd on a journey that the narrow piping that is built-in to the unit is a rollercoaster ride an they 💩👈 get stuck in the pipe an it gets worse if it gets near the flange if it gets passed the narrow bowl piping... I found the perfect toilet that you flush the toilet an it's ready for more in one foul swoop 💩 never leave a turd behind don't get fooled with the stuff in the tank if it's 100 dollar toilet it's shit. At least on this end
I have water beads on top of the blue valve tower AND it's dripping from under that same blue cap. It also "runs" every 19mins or so. The toilet is brand new. Help 😢
How often should you clean it for a calcium build up if 2 people use the toilet? The toilets are about a year old. I don't want to disassemble it to clean if there doesn't seem to any problem yet. Thank you.
I have the same flush toilet and there is a leak of water under the blue fill valve which hold the float. How can I avoid that ? It's very stressful listening to the small noise all day long....thank you for your help
@@karagi101 no he clearly has no idea how toilet and sink systems work but is swift to insult someone with his professional knowledge of toilet water. He prob keeps his toothbrush on the bathroom counter 🙃
What if the valve that the water comes through (the one with the blue cap) is too short and it’s at the highest point an the eater is still too little?
Gosh this is just what I needed bc toilet wasnt filling but the wonky video is frustrating me bc as your working on it the camera veered off the visually and shaky o I know it's hard to do w one hand, but still.
After installing a brand, new toilet, does the same thing the other toilet did whereas it will flush down the water in the tank but the water in the bowl will not go down. What’s the problem?
This sophisticated siphon is by design a mess. The old school ball float was and still is way more reliable. The culprit is usually a delicate rubber diaphragm seated atop this siphon that is controlling the water flow into the tank. The diaphragm has a pin hole, actuated by the float arm. The thing is over time dust or minute rust particles pass through the inlet side and get lodged in the pin hole. This disturbs the vacuum, preventing a perfect seal in the area where the diaphragm sits. Eventuallly you have this run off situaution. Althhough a simple dismatle and clean up is enough, a majority of normal folks end up damaging the diaphragm or not sealing the system properly and that's the point of no return. I am currently on my 3rd set in 9 years. When the leak starts I always try to fix it once and if it occurs again in a short while (which it will if not done the proper way), I've learned to straightway replace it as it is fairly cheap, costing less than $5 here in India. The stuff is made in China anyway and is by design a use and throw spare. Saves time and gets the system back in business in under one business day. The only real benefit I see in the single piece toilet vs. the more traditional european toilet is the less water that is needed per flush, plus it looks sleek. But the king of reliability is always the traditional ball float siphon. There is nothing sophiticated in its mechanism and any average joe can replace a faulty ball float flush siphon rather than paying a plumber.
Thank you I have simular toilet mechanism I noticed it started leaking water tonight from the kitchen lights downstairs so I headed up and took some water out from the top bowel and noticed there was a plastic tube sunken to the bottom of the bowel but still attached to the right hand side part then I noticed the plastic flusher has two small round holes either side so I put the tube into the plastic flusher but had to put it quite far down. The it looks a lot longer than yours! So basically what I think happened is the water was very close for over filling the bowel after flushing and now I'm concerned about flushing it. This all happened within the last few hours so what do you suggest I try please? Hope all that makes sense.
my toilet is different. the push button is screwed onto the flush rod. and the flush rod has reduced in height so i cant screw it back on. and I cant raise the flush rods height! But I cant find any video or model with the same toilet as me with an explanation.

You just save me from. buying a new toilet thank you God bless

For real man you just saved me from buying new parts for all three of my bathrooms
This saved my butt at 11:00 pm at night, thanks for the info

Thank you for the video, a very clear and detail instructions. I will try out you method to fix my cistern which cannot flush very well.
Brilliant clear instructions, thank you so much I'm one happy lady, all fixed now
Thanks for the vid. Finally knew how to adjust. Mine just started to overfill after 2 years for no reason.
Thank you so much it took me less then 5 minutes to fix my toilet. And I hate two left hands while being right handed with this sort of stuff.
This video helped me to fix my leaking toilet. Thanks

Try adjusting the fine adjustment clockwise.
This was helpful, but I still don’t seem to have much water in the actual toilet bowl. How can I increase the standing water in the bowl?
Dude!! You saved my toilet!! Thank you!!!
How do you get it to fill more water info the bowl (not the tank)?
Flush tanks were a mystery before I watched this.. Thanks for sharing such helpful video..:)
yɢɢ,
Exactly.
Silly me believed in putting a water bottle in cistern tank to take up space😂
Very helpful as I couldn’t even find a Foremost website. But music is distracting.
YESSSSSSS THANK YOU!!!
Finally found a video with the same R&L valve I have in my Mansfield dual flush. Thank you thank you THANK YOU!😀
Thank you very much, followed your instructions and now my throne is fit for a king
Ew
Yes I want a full flush I don’t care how much water it takes!
Thanks for sharing. So helpful to fix my plunger without calling plumber. Stay blessed 👍
Cat doing the final inspection, just like mine. 😂

theres a ajustment screw and turn it clockwise on the fill valve its called or replace it for 10 dollars from home depot
very informative and a big help, thanks! But.... please have someone hold your camera for you!
It looks like the screws holding the cistern to the WC are a bit rusty. Have you thought about changing them to stainless steel ones?
Thank you for your video. Well done and helpful. Nice cat, reminds me of my (buddy) cat. 😀
This is a great video! Just what I needed.
This video was fire!!!! Awesome thank you. Helped me alot

Thanks brother, worked, I fixed it myself
Thank you man. This is an amazingly helpful video.
Thank you! I understand more my toilet 😉
Thanks a bunch!! You really helped me fix my toilet.

Thanks. Now maybe I won't have to flush twice every time for #2 😀

Gracias from Yauco, Puerto Rico
Just adjusted the flush on mine, thank you very much!
My fill valve doesn't stop pouring water even when the floater goes up, does it mean it needs replacing?
Hey man, did you ever get an answer for this?
This is what i did to fix mine! th-cam.com/video/AOAfcrHCtOM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cZMsysNvoXZwmRSZ
This video helped me out big time. It worked like a charm. Thx
Moving that clip is proving impossible. Won’t budge. I will never buy a dual flush again. Ready to replace all with single flush. 😡
whats the tube that goes into the overflow? how does that work?
That's the water that fills the bowl after flushing.
Very helpful! Detailed instruciton
Right to the point, great explanation and great help. Thanks million for the video !
Thank you so much for your great and detailed video. 👍 5⭐️s
Thanks for the video! Helped me with my new American Standard.
well those toilets are australian
good video information. I dont know why you didn't have someone hold the camera for you, so it wouldn't get blocked out. thanks
Did you ever find out what that longer adjustment was.
Thank yoy.The camera angle could be bettter adjusted.
Great video but it would help if you didn’t move the camera around so we can’t actually see what you are adjusting.
cant see what your touching and adjusting
Fantastic instruction!
I have the same setup, but the problem is that there's no suction to flush the water. Please help
muy buen video. Muchas gracias por compartirlo.
yes max flush is best to get the stuff to the street pipe, water is cheaper than a sewer service man no flushable wipe, they do not dissolve
After reaching into the toilet without a glove, I was half expecting you to use your current tooth brush to clean off that calcium deposit. 😉
You do realize it’s the same water that goes to your kitchen faucet?

We kinda have the same valve and it is a push down toilet as well. Problem is, the toilet wont fill with water. How can we fix it please?
Im.having the same problem after i adjusted the clip
Take the rubber ring off and turn it the opposite way around
Screw is for fine tuning water level not to give it more wiggle room.

The smaller buttons on the side are both for the full flush. The slider on the side is the half flush adjustment. Otherwise a great video.

Good video. What brand valve kit is that if you need replacing?
