Are you kidding me? That's literally the best format for retro games. The only thing that wouldn't have used 1:1 from all the retro consoles was like GBA, psp, some of the handhelds. Most retro consoles were made to be used on old sd TV sets, which were of course, 1:1. These are also better for arcade games such as vertical shmups as well as nintendo DS because it gives you more room for the screens to stack on each other. Trust me, 1:1 is really ncie for these. Now if you want something specifically for GBA go with the 3:2 powkiddy V10, it's aperfect 4x. Now PSP is a bit more complicated. We have some great options for PSP but none of them are really powerful enough at that low price point that come with that format of screen. I would just get an r43 pro with the wide psp sccreen and the rk3566 chipset. theres much better options if you can spend more such as the retroid pocket 2-5
@@mwitters1 Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd guess that 80% of usercases play somewhat horizontal games, so I think that 4:3 is always best. Vertical games are niche, and even for those people can run the games sideways like some devices allow. I have a Trimui Smart Pro, which is 16:9, and it's more than enough to run NDS with the main screen taking 4" and a small secondary screen that is more than enough to be usable (it's always something secondary). For 4:3 games it "becomes" a 4" screen and for GBA it takes almost the whole screen, even with integer scaling. PSP is simply amazing, and after tweaking it can run even some difficult games such as GoW: Chains of Olympus and Dante's Inferno (I can run Gow: CoO with Vulkan PSP, 1x scaling and 30 fps cheat, no need for "Skip Buffer Effects"). I really wish we'd have a new Trimui with hdmi output and the same CPU as this R46S.
1:1 is about perfect. Other than it being perfect for Pico-8 and NeoGeoPocket it scales really well for GB, GBC, etc. Since the release of the RGB30 2024 has been the year of great 1:1 handhelds
@@eucharistenjoyerI also have a TSP. That’s not the purpose of this. 1:1 scales very well for traditional Retro systems and Arcade games. If you havnt tried it find a cheap one and you’ll be amazed. The RG Cube even scales well for 3DS but it’s running Android
Joycon sticks feel pretty good. There goes your credibility.
I’ve had my order of this handheld canceled twice. So I’ve given up
Well that some BS lol was just looking too see if you had a vid on it, but with how much they do want for it would just get a Anbernic RG40XX H
Where did you buy it at again ??
Can we use Bluetooth headphones?
Is it faster than R36S? My R36S is unfortunately not enough fast for some Amiga games, so I'm searching for a faster remplacement.
R46s is reliable but very underated than any other handheld
Why on earth would they make it a 1:1 display. What a waste.
