I am still bitter about Toei not releasing a merchandise line of Twilight’s keys and her sceptre, a missed opportunity. Actually no, that goes for *ALL* villain weapons, like Julio’s dark Candy Rod. PreCure merchandise should feature some toys and merch of the villains
Plus, the potential of a villain merchandise line would probably draw in more older fans of the PreCure franchise. Maybe some kids too. More times than not in this franchise, the fans tend to love the villains more so than the heroes and protagonists.
To this day, I still say Go! Princess, tied with Smile and Heartcatch, has one of the best set of upgraded attacks in the entire franchise. Not only they actually look distinctive and does something different from each other, they all have powerful moments and are associated with how the Pretty Cure have grown since their debut, making their newly acquired attacks much more powerful, impactful, and memorable. Cure Scarlet debut is awesome and I can’t believe Japan dubbed the Hope Kingdom the lolikingdom. XD Holy crap that’s funny! I don’t have a lot too say but that’s just because this season just nails many things. This review came out much earlier than I thought, thanks for getting it out on time! Btw, I really hope Toei finds this video. Not only did your own take on the dark keys are so much better, you also highlighted how awkward they would cram these toys in the plot. Yeah, I also hope that Toei finds this video AND learns from it, rather than strike it down for some silly reason. Because Go Princess Precure is a VERY GOOD Precure series, that is not looked highly upon because of it's toy sales.

Plot twist: Minami's remaining suitcase actually contained a whole stack of clandestine photos of HaruHaru that she took while the latter was sleeping or doing mundane activities. But I jest, of course. Speaking of Twilight, she was indeed a really effective antagonist in the sense that she represented the antithesis of what Haruka strived towards; beautiful yet cold in contrast to Haruka's plainness yet budding self. Not to mention that her verbal beatdowns on the cures/constant lectures about her being the superior princess to the GoPri's 'plebians' were also fun to sit through as well. It could have been interesting if she was actually Dyspear's true daughter who then got redeemed into a precure instead of being a brainwashed Towa, now that's a alternate plot point worth thinking about imo.
Scarlet's debut is one of the best ones in the whole franchise. Her finisher, transformation and debut OST are extremely good. I also liked how they went with the "adapting to the new world" again, but it felt different. Definitely my 2nd favorite cure from this season. This is just the start of the good villains as Shut becomes comedy releif and Lock becomes my favorite villain of the season. The same goes with Dyspear, one of my favorite Big Baddies next to Dune and Mephisto. The Keys actually felt useful and earned, leading to more dynamic fights. Now, the cures are developing really good, especially for the 2/4 of the season. Although I have to say something about Flora, she is one of the best pink leaders, although there is something I dislike about her, but it's better to say it in the next review because of THAT episode. As always, Go Pri is still awesome, although I think that the next quarter has more flaws, I think it is also more enjoyable than its predecesor (Not offending any HaCha fans)
While I was peeved with the multiple surface-level similarities between GoPri and Fresh (1. such as a 4 person team with the same colors; 2. MC being a ginger turned blonde, a blue cure with blue hair, a yellow cure with brown hair, and the 6th ranger having white hair as a villain+red eyes but that changing to pink hair + red eyes; 3. 6th ranger being a reformed villain that was brainwashed by the big bad and adored them to no ends; 4. said sixth ranger having an ex-colleague being "close" with them while the shippers take it waaay beyond that; 5. the blue cure being seen as perfect at first), in the end, they are just that - surface-level similarities. I am glad GoPri managed to stand on its own and become (in my opinion) better than Fresh
Lmao Go!Princess is better than Fresh? when Go!Princess was one of the worst seasons in the franchise. All they did was copied and recycled the Troupes Fresh Pioneered and Innovated. Without Fresh, the franchise wouldn't have exists for this long. While Go!Princess didn't contributed anything.

And healin good to me was almost a looked-copied version of Princess precure, with the first trio that is, having the same themes involving flowers,(pinks) water(blues) and light/ sparks like stars,(yellows) and the yellow cures also having both brown hair untransformed, in my opinion making their faces looked almost similar. It's admittedly funny that you consider Princess precure to be the obsolute worst season, when it's most off all considered by fans to be one of if not sometimes the best written in the franchise alongside heartcatch and maybe smile
There was also the fact that you didn't mention about both villians having also black clothing along with the white hair. One thing you got wrong was that cure passion/setsuna was actually born into as a villian and chose herself to make a turn completely from her relationship with the others, more specifically love/cure peach, and while towa kinda chose to go to dispear as little she was actually brainwashed and turned back to good as was before, even though it was years, and with Haruka/cure flora only helping with breaking her out of it, and to recover from the past afterwards. Also I wouldn't consider for those to be the only seasons with surface-level similarities. For example, yes! 5 with smile, and I also consider heartcatch and happinesscharge. While they have their obvious differences they also have obvious similarities, especially just by looking at them, that others have also pointed out. You problably, or not have takeng this to realization as well already.
Another great overview! Second only to Cure Passion (IMO), Cure Scarlet has one of the best redemption arcs in the "bad girl becomes a Cure" club. The idea of a little girl being kidnapped and brainwashed by a wicked stepmother-type character for most of her life is pretty dark. Also, as stated, this season would top the list of Precure seasons that correctly and effectively use the toy/maguffins. They feel earned, each attack is unique, and best of all, I like that the girls switch off between them depending on the situation. Most magical girl shows have the characters spamming their newest attacks to the point that it seems like they've completely forgotten about their earlier ones (Sailor Moon is super guilty of this). And bonus: Pafu and Aroma got some nice development too. In most seasons, I always dread the fairy-focused episodes, but here, Aroma's "I want to be a butler" story was one of my favorite filler episodes. Can't wait to see Part 3! :D
So what I’m hearing is that the hope kingdom could have been protected if they taught their children the concept of stranger danger... No wonder they fell into despair so easily.

In a sense it's not the strongest redemption arc out of Precure, but I think it's still a very interesting and engaging one with really fun moments involving Towa. I think having a down to earth character like this by this point in the season is what the writers really needed for the sake of Haruka's character. Considering she technically isn't a princess, it would make sense to have a real one try to beat that into her. Quite literally. 5:24 I always liked this trope too! I always found it really endearing in a way? It's sadly not enough to save GoPri's toy sales, but the effort was made. I'd love to see more variants of the villain's merch as part of the lineup 10:12 While still being an aroma episode, I do appreciate the development the fairies got here. It does show while Aroma is mostly self-centered, he was trying. The only thing he really needed to change was HOW he approached those methods. I think a good mascot character is at least self-aware about the impact they have on these girls lives and try to ADD to their experiences. 18:18 One thing I adore about this season is the subtle story-telling. At first it seems obvious who the princess is and what's going on, but as you delve deeper, there's many more layers to it. I adore how GoPri uses this story book motif to help further the story so much. I argue it even does a better job at this than Smile in it's entire season. I don't hate brainwashing, but the overuse of it can be exhausting and the clear difference compared to something like Suite is that here, at the very least, the don't overuse it, there's build up and it MAKES SENSE. Towa wasn't stupid as much as she was taken advantage of at an early age. That makes it feel all the more creeper and makes me want to see her get through it because you know what she's been through. I treat it more akin to Setsuna's arc in Fresh. While Setsuna wasn't brainwashed in a traditional way she was forced into a lifestyle she never truly wanted. So when she did have a breakthrough it made it all the more sweeter. Considering what happened to Towa, I don't find it surprising that the Kingdom fell because it's actually happened in real life to some degree. Granted, it's not the ONLY factor, but I can see the townspeople being disheartened, especially if their kingdom was doing pretty well already. 30:00 I wish we had more villain's like this. Dyspear isn't a good person by any means and by this point you can't redeem her and I'm so glad the writers didn't. 34:42 This is it. My favorite mid-precure fight of any season and MAN was the build up worth it. The emotional gut-punch, the drama, the conclusion. it's fantastic and I love it. 48:41 Oh boy. I will tell you, I was pretty surprised to see how things ended up with Close in the end, but I'm so glad it was worth it.
I agree with you. Brainwashing isn’t a bad trope when done right. There’s a reason why Eas is still the best villain who became a Cure since she didn’t have this and Towa executed the brainwashing way better than Siren did.
@@nintendolife25 because from my knowledge, Towa’s brainwashing lasted throughout her childhood. Her reason of letting Dyspear doing this to her? Wanting to become the Grand Princess ^^; Siren (or now Ellen)’s case of brainwashing was mainly due to jealousy that Hummy get the part but she didn’t ...yeah. The former’s more messed up. Like imagine everything u know and love was nothing more but mind games toyed with by your own parents, psychological abuse at its finest ^^;
Toei should really start making villains toys, I mean which toy company doesn't? Even MLP sells villains toys or even evil versions of the main characters. Another thing I like to point out in this series that is very done well, which is visual story telling. In this series, you can tell a character's emotions, behavior and personality, just by how they move. No words are required. THAT is something I appreciate more.

Oh hell yes~~ My fave villain waifu: Twilight~~! Man I love this chick >:3 She was badass, she was elegant, she was menacing...until the ending (yeah I didn’t like her final form. I get her looking like her “mom” buuuut...this is just ridiculous XDDD). Besides the twist being very obvious, I also questioned about what exactly did she do after being brainwashed throughout her childhood by Dyspear. What? Did she basically teach her how to play the violin or that’s the only remnant of her as Towa to play that solemn half of the music or something? Did she teach her a lot about “despair” and the meaning of nobility as a princess...and all that fire?? That we will never know, but either way, very messed up...and the best way of handling someone who’s been brainwashed (not like Kirakira who only lasted a mere minutes till seconds...and that’s insulting =^=). Her good half, Towa/Scarlet? Not gonna lie...she’s fine. Like I don’t adore her to bits as much as her villainous counterpart but she’s still badass in her own right too. Yeah she has to be taught the same lesson 3 times but I can’t blame her for being stubborn. After all, she’s a literal Princess and, being a fish out of water after being brainwashed for so long, I don’t mind her being like that. She’ll get over it eventually...especially when she reunites with her brother (which I’m hyped for you to discuss about that part because back then, it was a mixed bag to some fans ^^;). Plus her duet with Haruka/Flora with the violin...mwah~ Gorgeous~~ What about the main trio? Still awesome as always, especially with their 3rd set of keys. I agree with you: they EARNED it. They don’t just gave these machuffins for product placement...they implement it into their character arcs as well. Not to mention I like that each one of them has a variety of ways of using it, not just like those post this season where they just changed the color and call it a day. THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT PEOPLE!! COME ON! Of course, I don’t forget the praise for the fairies too, especially where they take care of sickly Towa. That right there is commitment as both maid and butler. That’s all I can say cause I honestly couldn’t think of anything else. That’s how great this season is to me up till this point ^w^
I think it’s one of those Instant Expert tropes, where as soon as Towa became Twilight, she has all the traits she believes a princess should have right off the bat.

That’s like the longest one a character has been through brainwashing throughout this franchise...that’s messed up ^^;; Even as a kid watching the series at the time, I wondered how she treated her. Maybe like a “caring mother”(?) like how Gothel does to Rapunzel...except she doesn’t confined her to her castle as she grew up. Rather, she gave her the things she wanted for a Princess, so long as she follows her orders. Heck, as twilight, what did she do throughout her childhood. Plus, even after reverting back to Towa, does she remember everything she’s been through as Twilight? Does that make sense? Sometimes I overthink this too much, even if it’s very good like this one ^^;
The fights scenes were so good I really didn’t realize this season was really letting Girls know you should be treated like a princess. All the men, even the evil ones served woman lol But the reason I love the yellow is because she’s so real. She the blunt, speak her mind girl in the group who is sometimes afraid to let other people see she down, she worked at the beginning and didn’t want friends and the she was the rock and her friends knew when she was down deep down and she never had to say anything. I love this season ! Kiarara was an dedicated for her work and she sometimes needed to relax and she was smart also. My favorite yellow tbh and the hope kingdom being depressed makes sense it was a fairytale and your description is right if you don’t follow your dreams and even the big bad villain was a woman too. Even when the flora fights the close a the end he admits he lost and goes away peacefully. And towa didn’t Just get better. Despair was scary! And even the theme intro song and stuff changes with the show and the bond with cures. Even ever her keys and meaning. They weren’t over used and cheeses. Phoenix, total is reborn just like a Phoenix. I like that towa was still royalty but you have to think she realizes she hurt a lot of people I’d feel bad too like my brother her is gone as well. She feels guilty. Even like you said for word “go!” You have to act not just dream. And No I think they did that with the opening because towa still had nightmares about twilight so it was still there and tbh I think the towa stuff doubled caught us up on her characteristics being a different character and different from twilight

While it's not the greatest source, TV Tropes says Go! Pri struggled to compete against other girls' franchises that year. Mainly Pripara (season 2) and Aikatsu (season 3).
Fine is now a Precure. First Tsubasa, then Fine, and now Hibiki Tachibana. Let’s hope we get either a crossover between Precure and Symphogear or a comparison video about the two franchises along with their connections.

I can't stress this enough, Go Princess deserves better, it is such a shame that this series was looked down upon because for some reason they measure the series based on toy sales, which mind you their target audience are not eligible to get personal income yet. Regardless, Towa's/Cure Scarlet's debut is one of the better 6th ranger Precures that almost rival Cure Passion, well considering that their story is almost similar except without the brainwash part and the part where she gets killed. And speaking of which, I do agree that Toei would just sell some villain's toys and I have confidence they will sell, cause those Twilight stuff really looks awesome!!! And I agree that monster villains like Dyspear should appear more often in Precure, as sometimes they provide the perfect dark reflection of the heroines if they ever fall to the dark side, or the total opposition to the heroines with clashing ideals that would challenge our heroines to prove their own beliefs and ideals plus their determination and will power. Sadly this gets completely undone and made for the worst in the coming series. The fight scenes continues to have great quality, and seriously there are not many Precures that could rival qualities such as Go Princess, even to this day. And again sadly, it only took the cries of the parents do tone them down in later series, parents who not only aren't the target audience, but people who are definitely not into anime I believe. Another important thing in this series you have pointed out is how the importance of the keys still remains even after the half way mark. This just shows how important the Precures and the Mcguffins are to the overall plot. They are not something to be thrown away after getting something better. Again, something that later Precure series failed to do, thus cheapen the overall importance of not only the items they collected, but the Precures themselves. Thank you very much for this review, and I really appreciate the abundance of trivia information you provide, it made for some great learning, and also some good laughs. I am also glad that your move is a success, and I am looking forward to another Toei Trinity. P.S. I remembered the Free Willy Cartoon, and I have forgotten whether or not I have finished the entire series, and I didn't even know it was cancelled back then. All I know is that the cartoon really took a very interesting direction, something completely different than the movie but I admit, it is entertaining. Also the Jubei-chan anime is awesome!!! And it is definitely a very underrated magical girl Samurai anime. EDIT: Oh and I also like to mention, the ending of Promised Neverland Season 2 SUUUUCKSS!!!! I really don't mind the anime takes a different direction to the manga, but why the heck do they cheap out the ending so much? They could've just press on and continue what they do and see where it goes. But no, they decided to cheap their way out of the ending.
Man, it such a shame the Promise Neverland 2 sucked so bad. The first one was just brilliant. This season definitely handled its macguffins better than most seasons, which is quite an accomplishment.

Cure Passion started the Villain turned Cure troupe in the Franchise. She set the Standard so saying their story are similar is misleading. One is Original, the other is a copy.
@@siegeslander9759 Do I need to emphasize on the "almost" and the "except" part of my explanation. The main thing is that both stories are almost similar with some obvious differences. It doesn't matter which is the original or a copy to me, that isn't my point at all. And I did use Cure Passion's story as the main comparison, as it does came before Cure Scarlet (and it is the first thing on my mind), not because it has set a standard.
I’m rewatching this review again as I learned that there was the final review episode I just saw. After I watch this, I plan to watch some of the episodes myself as I quite enjoy the series even though I only saw a few of the episodes. It’s said that this series was considered a flop even though it’s my all time favorite. Never knew I would like a show about princess.

What do you have against gingers, Shut? Those melons cost as much as a car? What?! You've pointed out a huge problem with post-Princess Precure. They created so many toys that they couldn't give them a proper place in the story. Mahotsukai little spanned Ha-chan's alternate forms in one episode and that was it, and the various gemstones were kind of just shoved out rapid fire to get them out there. And it just happened again and again which led to weak series stories. The worst of which was Star Twinkle. And this is the hazard of a toy-based model. You can find yourself needing to shove in more merchandise to keep the toys coming. One solution is selling the villain side as well (Hasbro has turned that into an art form). However, there is only so much you can tie into the story without it feeling like it's in there because they're trying to sell it. I wish you had shown Puff's epic battle with a vacuum cleaner. I know it was a distraction from the main story, but I love human Puff and wish we got more of it. And I was hoping you would parody Team Four Star and had a Yui Pwned Counter. Go Princess is still my favorite series of Precure. I enjoyed the characters and the stories so much. We're going to start getting into the payoffs for the development on both fronts in the future parts. I would like to see Precure get back to this kind of tight storytelling and focus on character. Healin Good did a good job with the latter though stumbled a bit with the former down the stretch. And I still want Go Princess to team up with Tropical Rouge for their movie. I need my meeting of the Mermaids!

That was a beautiful paint job. And the VA for Dyspear did play a similar role in the original Sailor Moon anime, where she was Queen Nehellenia.

Scarlet's debut is one of the best ones in the whole franchise. Her finisher, transformation and debut OST are extremely good. I also liked how they went with the "adapting to the new world" again, but it felt different. Definitely my 2nd favorite cure from this season.
This is just the start of the good villains as Shut becomes comedy releif and Lock becomes my favorite villain of the season. The same goes with Dyspear, one of my favorite Big Baddies next to Dune and Mephisto.
The Keys actually felt useful and earned, leading to more dynamic fights.
Now, the cures are developing really good, especially for the 2/4 of the season. Although I have to say something about Flora, she is one of the best pink leaders, although there is something I dislike about her, but it's better to say it in the next review because of THAT episode.
As always, Go Pri is still awesome, although I think that the next quarter has more flaws, I think it is also more enjoyable than its predecesor (Not offending any HaCha fans)
While I was peeved with the multiple surface-level similarities between GoPri and Fresh (1. such as a 4 person team with the same colors; 2. MC being a ginger turned blonde, a blue cure with blue hair, a yellow cure with brown hair, and the 6th ranger having white hair as a villain+red eyes but that changing to pink hair + red eyes; 3. 6th ranger being a reformed villain that was brainwashed by the big bad and adored them to no ends; 4. said sixth ranger having an ex-colleague being "close" with them while the shippers take it waaay beyond that; 5. the blue cure being seen as perfect at first), in the end, they are just that - surface-level similarities. I am glad GoPri managed to stand on its own and become (in my opinion) better than Fresh
Lmao Go!Princess is better than Fresh? when Go!Princess was one of the worst seasons in the franchise. All they did was copied and recycled the Troupes Fresh Pioneered and Innovated. Without Fresh, the franchise wouldn't have exists for this long. While Go!Princess didn't contributed anything.

And healin good to me was almost a looked-copied version of Princess precure, with the first trio that is, having the same themes involving flowers,(pinks) water(blues) and light/ sparks like stars,(yellows) and the yellow cures also having both brown hair untransformed, in my opinion making their faces looked almost similar. It's admittedly funny that you consider Princess precure to be the obsolute worst season, when it's most off all considered by fans to be one of if not sometimes the best written in the franchise alongside heartcatch and maybe smile
There was also the fact that you didn't mention about both villians having also black clothing along with the white hair. One thing you got wrong was that cure passion/setsuna was actually born into as a villian and chose herself to make a turn completely from her relationship with the others, more specifically love/cure peach, and while towa kinda chose to go to dispear as little she was actually brainwashed and turned back to good as was before, even though it was years, and with Haruka/cure flora only helping with breaking her out of it, and to recover from the past afterwards. Also I wouldn't consider for those to be the only seasons with surface-level similarities. For example, yes! 5 with smile, and I also consider heartcatch and happinesscharge. While they have their obvious differences they also have obvious similarities, especially just by looking at them, that others have also pointed out. You problably, or not have takeng this to realization as well already.

Another great overview! Second only to Cure Passion (IMO), Cure Scarlet has one of the best redemption arcs in the "bad girl becomes a Cure" club. The idea of a little girl being kidnapped and brainwashed by a wicked stepmother-type character for most of her life is pretty dark.
Also, as stated, this season would top the list of Precure seasons that correctly and effectively use the toy/maguffins. They feel earned, each attack is unique, and best of all, I like that the girls switch off between them depending on the situation. Most magical girl shows have the characters spamming their newest attacks to the point that it seems like they've completely forgotten about their earlier ones (Sailor Moon is super guilty of this).
And bonus: Pafu and Aroma got some nice development too. In most seasons, I always dread the fairy-focused episodes, but here, Aroma's "I want to be a butler" story was one of my favorite filler episodes.

In a sense it's not the strongest redemption arc out of Precure, but I think it's still a very interesting and engaging one with really fun moments involving Towa. I think having a down to earth character like this by this point in the season is what the writers really needed for the sake of Haruka's character. Considering she technically isn't a princess, it would make sense to have a real one try to beat that into her. Quite literally.

I adore how GoPri uses this story book motif to help further the story so much. I argue it even does a better job at this than Smile in it's entire season. Not because Smile is bad, but because the focus here on the main story of the fairytale is just MUCH stronger.

I don't hate brainwashing, but the overuse of it can be exhausting and the clear difference compared to something like Suite is that here, at the very least, the don't overuse it, there's build up and it MAKES SENSE. Towa wasn't stupid as much as she was taken advantage of at an early age. That makes it feel all the more creeper and makes me want to see her get through it because you know what she's been through. I treat it more akin to Setsuna's arc in Fresh. While Setsuna wasn't brainwashed in a traditional way she was forced into a lifestyle she never truly wanted. Wish more precure arcs would follow this instead of the cures being evil for 5 seconds because the execs are too afraid of scaring children (*cough KiraKira cough*)

Granted, it's not the ONLY factor, but I can see the townspeople being disheartened, especially if their kingdom was doing pretty well already.

Another thing I like to point out in this series that is very done well, which is visual story telling. In this series, you can tell a character's emotions, behavior and personality, just by how they move. No words are required. THAT is something I appreciate more.

She was badass, she was elegant, she was menacing...until the ending (yeah I didn’t like her final form. I get her looking like her “mom” buuuut...this is just ridiculous XDDD). Besides the twist being very obvious, I also questioned about what exactly did she do after being brainwashed throughout her childhood by Dyspear. What? Did she basically teach her how to play the violin or that’s the only remnant of her as Towa to play that solemn half of the music or something? Did she teach her a lot about “despair” and the meaning of nobility as a princess...and all that fire?? That we will never know, but either way, very messed up...and the best way of handling someone who’s been brainwashed (not like Kirakira who only lasted a mere minutes till seconds...and that’s insulting =^=).
Her good half, Towa/Scarlet? Not gonna lie...she’s fine. Like I don’t adore her to bits as much as her villainous counterpart but she’s still badass in her own right too. Yeah she has to be taught the same lesson 3 times but I can’t blame her for being stubborn. After all, she’s a literal Princess and, being a fish out of water after being brainwashed for so long, I don’t mind her being like that. She’ll get over it eventually...especially when she reunites with her brother (which I’m hyped for you to discuss about that part because back then, it was a mixed bag to some fans ^^;). Plus her duet with Haruka/Flora with the violin...mwah~ Gorgeous~~
What about the main trio? Still awesome as always, especially with their 3rd set of keys. I agree with you: they EARNED it. They don’t just gave these machuffins for product placement...they implement it into their character arcs as well. Not to mention I like that each one of them has a variety of ways of using it, not just like those post this season where they just changed the color and call it a day. THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT PEOPLE!! COME ON! Of course, I don’t forget the praise for the fairies too, especially where they take care of sickly Towa. That right there is commitment as both maid and butler.

Even as a kid watching the series at the time, I wondered how she treated her. Maybe like a “caring mother”(?) like how Gothel does to Rapunzel...except she doesn’t confined her to her castle as she grew up. Rather, she gave her the things she wanted for a Princess, so long as she follows her orders. Heck, as twilight, what did she do throughout her childhood. Plus, even after reverting back to Towa, does she remember everything she’s been through as Twilight? Does that make sense? Sometimes I overthink this too much, even if it’s very good like this one ^^;
The fights scenes were so good I really didn’t realize this season was really letting Girls know you should be treated like a princess. All the men, even the evil ones served woman lol
But the reason I love the yellow is because she’s so real. She the blunt, speak her mind girl in the group who is sometimes afraid to let other people see she down, she worked at the beginning and didn’t want friends and the she was the rock and her friends knew when she was down deep down and she never had to say anything. I love this season ! Kiarara was an dedicated for her work and she sometimes needed to relax and she was smart also. My favorite yellow tbh and the hope kingdom being depressed makes sense it was a fairytale and your description is right if you don’t follow your dreams and even the big bad villain was a woman too. Even when the flora fights the close a the end he admits he lost and goes away peacefully. And towa didn’t Just get better. Despair was scary! And even the theme intro song and stuff changes with the show and the bond with cures. Even ever her keys and meaning. They weren’t over used and cheeses. Phoenix, total is reborn just like a Phoenix. I like that towa was still royalty but you have to think she realizes she hurt a lot of people I’d feel bad too like my brother her is gone as well. She feels guilty. Even like you said for word “go!” You have to act not just dream. And No I think they did that with the opening because towa still had nightmares about twilight so it was still there and tbh I think the towa stuff doubled caught us up on her characteristics being a different character and different from twilight

While it's not the greatest source, TV Tropes says Go! Pri struggled to compete against other girls' franchises that year. Mainly Pripara (season 2) and Aikatsu (season 3).
Cuz Precure is Violent to Girls, so give thek some Idol Activity(which is what Aikatsu Stands for).

I can't stress this enough, Go Princess deserves better, it is such a shame that this series was looked down upon because for some reason they measure the series based on toy sales, which mind you their target audience are not eligible to get personal income yet.
Regardless, Towa's/Cure Scarlet's debut is one of the better 6th ranger Precures that almost rival Cure Passion, well considering that their story is almost similar except without the brainwash part and the part where she gets killed. And speaking of which, I do agree that Toei would just sell some villain's toys and I have confidence they will sell, cause those Twilight stuff really looks awesome!!!
And I agree that monster villains like Dyspear should appear more often in Precure, as sometimes they provide the perfect dark reflection of the heroines if they ever fall to the dark side, or the total opposition to the heroines with clashing ideals that would challenge our heroines to prove their own beliefs and ideals plus their determination and will power. Sadly this gets completely undone and made for the worst in the coming series.
The fight scenes continues to have great quality, and seriously there are not many Precures that could rival qualities such as Go Princess, even to this day. And again sadly, it only took the cries of the parents do tone them down in later series, parents who not only aren't the target audience, but people who are definitely not into anime I believe.
Another important thing in this series you have pointed out is how the importance of the keys still remains even after the half way mark. This just shows how important the Precures and the Mcguffins are to the overall plot. They are not something to be thrown away after getting something better. Again, something that later Precure series failed to do, thus cheapen the overall importance of not only the items they collected, but the Precures themselves.

P.S. I remembered the Free Willy Cartoon, and I have forgotten whether or not I have finished the entire series, and I didn't even know it was cancelled back then. All I know is that the cartoon really took a very interesting direction, something completely different than the movie but I admit, it is entertaining.
Also the Jubei-chan anime is awesome!!! And it is definitely a very underrated magical girl Samurai anime.
EDIT: Oh and I also like to mention, the ending of Promised Neverland Season 2 SUUUUCKSS!!!! I really don't mind the anime takes a different direction to the manga, but why the heck do they cheap out the ending so much? They could've just press on and continue what they do and see where it goes. But no, they decided to cheap their way out of the ending.
Man, it such a shame the Promise Neverland 2 sucked so bad. The first one was just brilliant. This season definitely handled its macguffins better than most seasons, which is quite an accomplishment.

Cure Passion started the Villain turned Cure troupe in the Franchise. She set the Standard so saying their story are similar is misleading. One is Original, the other is a copy.

I’m rewatching this review again as I learned that there was the final review episode I just saw. After I watch this, I plan to watch some of the episodes myself as I quite enjoy the series even though I only saw a few of the episodes. You've pointed out a huge problem with post-Princess Precure. They created so many toys that they couldn't give them a proper place in the story. Mahotsukai little spanned Ha-chan's alternate forms in one episode and that was it, and the various gemstones were kind of just shoved out rapid fire to get them out there. And it just happened again and again which led to weak series stories. The worst of which was Star Twinkle.
And this is the hazard of a toy-based model. You can find yourself needing to shove in more merchandise to keep the toys coming. One solution is selling the villain side as well (Hasbro has turned that into an art form). However, there is only so much you can tie into the story without it feeling like it's in there because they're trying to sell it.
I wish you had shown Puff's epic battle with a vacuum cleaner. I know it was a distraction from the main story, but I love human Puff and wish we got more of it.
And I was hoping you would parody Team Four Star and had a Yui Pwned Counter.
Go Princess is still my favorite series of Precure. I enjoyed the characters and the stories so much. We're going to start getting into the payoffs for the development on both fronts in the future parts. I would like to see Precure get back to this kind of tight storytelling and focus on character. Healin Good did a good job with the latter though stumbled a bit with the former down the stretch.
And I still want Go Princess to team up with Tropical Rouge for their movie. I need my meeting of the Mermaids!
