Forest Cup 1 - 2024

Karaka Swamp/Deacon Rd map - about 90 minutes north of Auckland, on the coast. This map messed up quite a few people with it's indistinct features. Personally I liked it - lots of Lord of the Rings was filmed up this way in these forests, so in the trees you need to be accurate.
Smooth run, except for spraining my ankle leaving control 3 - hobbled the rest of the course, but managed 2nd place. Rain stayed away until control collection later in the day.
9:06 - the instant I twisted my ankle avoiding the dog (I don't blame the dog..). Shame the sound is off ;) My language was colourful..

Yeah it was pretty random in only that small area - I was only about 50m from the beach as well
