    Great solution to the problem. It's worth pointing out tho, that this solution will meet it's limitations when working on a heavy and more complex asset, which is common in VFX industry. Maya won't really be happy for you trying to select all the UVs, so in that case I just use this snippet (MEL script). This requires only the root group to be selected in object mode. Paste this to the script editor, change the value whatever you need to, and run it. (note: paste with the brackets included)
    {
    float $value = 0.5; //the scale of the UVs is going to be multiplied by this value
    string $sel[]=`ls -sl`;
    polyEditUV -su $value -sv $value (`polyListComponentConversion -tuv $sel`);
    }
    It is planned to add this to the Polyraven UV tools in the next version, as it's a requested feature. But I just wanted to put it here so if somebody has this question, can find this solution as well.

    is there a quick method to transferring the texture of an object with multiple UDIMs onto an object with just 1 udim (your regular 0-1 space)? i tried transfer maps but it only seems to bake the first udim in the sequence.

      Yes - There's another video in my channel showing how to do so

    Excellent series - I see that Mari can paint over UDIMs but can it paint over UDIMS of multiple objects - thats something I would find interesting

      If you have two objects with UDIMS in different tiles, you can combine them and bring them into Mari.
      Then, after you paint and export, you'll have textures for both objects and no intersection :)

    i never dared to use this number of udims i dont know why but i worried that it would cause problems with my graphic card because the amount of textures just in on texture set...would it thought? i mean i can use any number and it would load the final image texture fine?

      Yes, more UDIMS often mean more GPU/CPU usage - So it isn't desirable if you don't really need it. It's often used for VFX production when we need assets getting really close to the camera.

    Let's say all the texture maps are already baked and you're trying to do this after the fact, for optimization purposes. Is there a plugin or free tool you use to shrink and combine the appropriate maps according to how you scaled it down here?

      You'll need to transfer the texture maps from one mesh to the other. You can either use Mari, Houdini, or Maya for that.

    Actually my doubt one object 4 uv tiles then how many shaders can apply

      As many as you'd like - In VFX you can use different masks and other setups for UDIMs
