Thoughtful, careful and thorough thinkers speak -Thoughtfully -Carefully -and ... Thoroughly. ...as does Fr. John Hardon. Although it may be a challenge for younger listeners, the fact is that his pacing isn't *that* different from the pacing of people of his time. Fact is that "we" have been "speeded up", and now discourse of *any* kind happens at blinding speed (and concomitant shallowness). The things of which Fr. John speaks about surely deserve thoughtful methodical consideration; as such, the pacing is perfect. It isn't him that needs to speed up. It is us who need to slow down. There is a great hidden blessing in slow walking that one cannot get in a marathon.
Fr Hardon's health issues impact his verbal cadence. It's a challenge to follow along . Offer it up and listen carefully as he is an amazing teacher ....

At last! A priest who totally understands what I've been trying to teach for so many years. If only everyone would listen and if only the Church would allow this to be taught to everyone to stop this rise of false mystics and false spirituality
@po18guy what she's saying is that she has been trying to help people understand and avoid the pitfalls of believing uncritically in unapproved mystics and apparitions.
The first charcteristic - humility. If they've written anything (without their confessor telling them to), disregard it. If they've promoted themselves (or their 'message') -that's a clear warning sign.
*👩💭" Just a reminder,👉When you use and refer to the name of God ALWAYS take the time to CAPITALIZE the first letter". That is not only appropriate but giving respect to whom you are taking about. Pass it on.*
If it isn't Catholic don't even consider it. And if it is Catholic make sure it is sound. "You shall know them by their fruit" Matthew 7:15 and that goes for everybody... Thank you for this excellent and highly important message.
Does anyone know a priest like Fr. Hardon, faithful to the Church, with the depth of theology he had, who I can talk to? I really need to talk a priest like him! I appreciate any feedback. God bless!
well I believe a person can be a Christian Mystic & tell people about it , Sometimes the Bliss & Infused Contemplation is so overwhelming you want to share , maybe not every where or to everyone but friends/ your Spiritual Director etc. Of course Spiritual pride can & does happen to a certain extent , but sometimes these favors & states are granted to a sinner , does NOT mean they aren't authentic. Anyway , I love Jesus my Lord , he lives in me & I in him , Not ashamed to publish that here on u tube. Hopefully an individual does Not grow in Spiritual pride 🙋😇💞😘🕊
Kit G. Well said, if you haven't, please read the story of Marie Julie Jahenny. She is not well known . I firmly believe that it is because she reveals the evils of freemasonry and their desire to infiltrate and destroy the Catholic Church. But we have to believe Jesus when he says " the Gates of Hell will not Prevail against My Church " . It was Our Lady of Fatima who also revealed the evils of freemasonry. Well, this evil has already infiltrated the Catholic Church. Also, Saint Padre Pio had a bit to say about this. Read Saint Padre Pio's letter on the three days of darkness. Pray the rosary! Mary help us!
Or told to by God for a particular reason. If none told their revelations, there would be no saints. The key is test, test, test the spirits and that means test the spirit of the one sharing revelations given, who it is alleged those revelations are from and testing the revelations themselves
I agree with father when he said "the English language is the most confused language in the world".....I do not find it consistent ;with its spelling and pronunciation.
What? English language is easy, what I mean by that is you say what you read and write what you hear. it's simply beautiful, and it has a magical way to it in literature and music, it's like the language comes to life.
It's easier if you study its roots. The main problem today is when people don't discriminate between everyday use and the corruption introduced by the legal system. The same word can actually have opposite meanings. Use a law dictionary when reading 'law' and you'll see the difference.
At about 31:34, does he say, "Christ our Lord taught doctrine beyond human comprehension"? Because it sounds like he says something like "noctrine" instead of doctrine, and automated subtitles records it as "not true they are" instead of what I think he says, which is "doctrine beyond."
@Sensus Fidelium , I was going to imitate you, using your words of flattery, but in hearing this voice, I'll say, "What good will that do me?" I did tell you, "My snicker costs too much,( for me!)" God Bless you, man and God help you.
Sensus Fidelium Hey, Mr. Fiddle Sense, you accused me, not firstly, of being a sede. DO YOU HAVE YOUR GLASSES ON, WHILE READING THIS? Also, accused me of saying (so to speak), "Vatican Council ll (V2), changed biblical text. Among other such nonsense, you disregarded, 1962, the year included in my comment. You replied to that particular thread, without clearing any misinformation, from either you or me. Your FLAT-tery remained intact, howev-ER. May you account for your adverse correlation between the variables against? MIght (that's m,I,g,h,t) you be liable to account for your contingency? That's only being responsible for your actions. When "used against" another, both need to know what is/isn't correct information. i.e. how DOES one refer to 'a or the' Pope who allows the biblical txt to be changed (not even altered)? How does one refer to the Pope that allowed or instituted, the alters in the R.C. church face the audience? I seriously would like to know.
No need to name call. You were the one to say those words & you were the one that made the claim of "apostate popes'. Just bc a pope did x, y, z that you dislike (& I dislike) doesn't make him an apostate. You would be hard pressed to find a pope that didn't screw up at least once in something. Be careful on your stone throwing
Sensus Fidelium YOU name called instantly. I asked you to explain, then, what DO you call the pope that allowed the biblical text to be changed? Plus the V2 stuff I never said. You're still unwittingly sarcastic and haven't answered anything.

Fr. Hardon was a supporter of Garabandal. So was St. Mother Teresa, St. Padre Pio, St. Maravillas de Jesús, St. John Paul II, St. Paul VI, Venerable Marthe Robin and Venerable Fr. Manuel Garcia Nieto. Mother Angelica did a show on it, too. "Garabandal, such investigations I have made, tell me they are authentic. ...I have allowed for publications in the magazine"-Fr. John Hardon (Talk on The Rise of Modernism)
Actually, Garabandal is considered non constant. That means the Church is officially saying there's currently not enough evidence to declare it supernatural, as things sit. That's not a condemnation. St. Mother Teresa was not only a supporter of Garabandal, she was like Conchita's best friend. Guess who Mother Teresa's spiritual advisor was... Fr. Hardon. St. Mother Maravillas devoted her entire convent to Garabandal, and the religious there to this day are still devoted to it. None of this could happen legitimately if the Church condemned the apparition. The Church certainly wouldn't have canonized these individuals, if they promoted what was condemned. The Church is often very slow to approve an apparition. Think Kibeho was approved overnight? Absolutely not, the Clergy were all very critical of it up until the point where a predicted genocide took place. "Apparitions like this (Garabandal) are often predicting events that are way ahead. And since we want it now, we lose the message." -Mother Angelica- Do yourself a favor, read and watch what these people actually had to say and what the actual positions are, before you just get triggered and rant in caps lock.
@kirkstruhart6216 How do you know he never regained his sight? St. Pio (a Garabandal supporter who refers Joey) regained sight to Gemma di Giorgi. She sees perfectly fine. The thing is, she sees fine without pupils. Hmmm. Did Joey have "new eyes"? My understanding is, yes. He lived a new life. May we all have new eyes. May I ask you, who is a better expert on mystics and mysticism? You? Or actual mystics (Marte Robin, Padre Pio) or Fr. Hardon?

Fr John Hardon... SERVANT OF GOD, Pray for us.
May Our Lord continue to Bless all of you, who are responsible for blessing us, who view this. Amen.✝️📿💙
Thank you so much Father Hardon. The most popular “visionaries “ of today, leave me skeptical. This video has made me trust my instincts.
By these Catholic norms, Medjugorie fails on every count. Pious emotional people are too often taken in.

If you're having visions, might want to ask your parish priest.
He's amazing I took one his courses it was excellent and and also required daily prayers, weekly church service and confession.

"An authentic mystic NEVER publishes their revelations and is humble." Fr Hardon
Unless they are ordered to by a spiritual director, then they have to be obediant.

Imagine all the priests who came out of seminaries which taught that mystics are “pathological.”
