    Hey Nia! I'm at the 8 month mark in my journey. My locs have changed so much since I first got them established. I'm still braiding and banding without a doubt. As always thanks for the great content.

      Hi Marcia =) I am glad you are braiding and banding so you will avoid the bunching that so many people experience =) Thank you so much for watching and commenting today. I really appreciate the feedback !

    Thank you for sharing. One mistake I did to my DIY micro locs was not leaving my braids and band it until my locs dry before taking them out. And it led to a lot of bunching in my locs. Which makes me cut off all my starter ends of my locs at 13 months instead of starting all over. I love my locs now though I lost all my beginning length. I wish more TH-camrs will remind their locs viewer to leave the braids in longer for their hair to be mostly dry before taking the braids down. Thanks 💕

      Oh no! Thank you for sharing! I am sorry that happened. You are right, many people do not talk about that step. I had no clue I was supposed to leave the braids in until me second or third retightening when my logician showed me my bunching.

      Thank you for this! I'm washing my hair for the first time this week and I didn't know about waiting for it to dry.

    Thank you so much for this video I couldn’t wait for this video. I am 2 months in on my micro loc journey and this video was very helpful. I realize less is more.

      Thank you! I am so glad it was helpful! I struggled with less being more in the beginning too. I actually like messing with my hair now that it is locked. I struggled just letting her be lol.

    I want brother locs/ or brother size braid locs to start( due to price reason0 so bad but I’m nervous about it because I’m disabled.i don’t have normal mobility in my left hand to be able to braid and band. I think if i do get them I’m gone have to take my husband with me to my stylist and pray they can teach him to braid and band for me.(ps if any woman here experience limited mobility in your hand how did you combat this hurdle on your journey?

      Hi Javon! These are such good questions. Maybe the hubby could help. I’m sorry I don’t have any more information about how to braid and band band with limited mobility. Is twisting easier for you ?

    Im just loving all of your videos! Thank you 💞 So i'm 2 months in and I use one of those tangle teaser brushes on my scalp when I wash my hair. Using my fingers doesn't seem like enough friction. I wonder if I'm messing up my grid pattern & parts by using it🤔

    • @Niaimani92
      @Niaimani92  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much! I am glad your liking the channel. I've never used a tangle teaser. Do the bristles seem harsh on the scalp?

    • @Brooklyn_Muse
      @Brooklyn_Muse 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Niaimani92 no the bristles don't seem too rough at all. I dont vigorously scrub so I guess that helps lol. Happy 2021 to you Nia!

      Hi 😊! I have a 4 month old, so I haven’t been able to keep a consistent schedule for awhile. I try my best to wash it every week.

    Hi Nia, I’m the beginning did you spray water on your hair? How often?

    • @Niaimani92
      @Niaimani92  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, very good question. It was not something that I did on a regular basis, just as needed. Maybe once a week tops.

      Yes! I wanted to film something with 3 or 4 drinks, but I’m trying to figure out the best way to do it without destroying my liver lol 😂! I’ll have to film it over the course of a few days.

      Everyone is different. It depends on your specific hair. Mine was mature at around 3 years
