Hi Nia, I love your informational and instructional videos and content, so helpful. After contemplating getting locs last year, (I scheduled and then canceled my appointment); waited an entire year and finally decided to get my installation in January 2021. I wore my natural hair this past weekend because it was my birthday, so I went to the hairdresser and got my natural done in a wrap style as my last natural style before my installation, and I must say it was soooo cute, now everyone is telling me NOT to get my sisterlocs and wait at least six months to a year and continue to wear my natural hair. Yes the voice is in my head and now I’m questioning should I wait? Your thoughts please?!
Hi Tracey ! Thank you so much for this comment. I have so many thoughts about this =)/I believe that you know what's best for you, and can make the right decision for you if you block out all the noise, including me lol. What I would do is ask others to kindly withhold their advice for a couple of weeks, so that you can sit with your own thoughts about the situation. After those two weeks, I'd say make your decision. I absolutely love my locs. I am so glad I got them, but everyone is different.
I wanted locs. I did get microlocs but right now I am a little tired of them..I can't style them and I am bored of them(I have had dem for almost 2 years-i started with really short hair). I wish they are longer
I wanted sisterlocs since 2009 and finally got them in 2018. I absolutely love them...wish I'd done them before. They're about the same length as yours Nia with the exception that the front of my hair doesn't grow as fast so is a lot shorter than the back and sides. (Any tips for making the front grow quicker?lNevertheless, I rock them. I live in Barbados and work in ac so have to make sure that I keep them moisturized. I am finding new ways all the time to improve the care of them thanks to your videos and TH-cam. Thanks! ☺
Hello @Still Nia I've been going back and forth about getting locs. I don't know if I want sister locs or micro locs. What does not help is one minute I say I do but then I change my mind because I'm scared I won't like them.
I was the same sis. My son rocks 37 inches with his dreds and always told me I should do it too. In 2020 I started my husband’s and I cut my natural ( huge Afro) off just to go back to creamy crack after being rehabilitated from it for three years. I then grew my natural hair back out. Wore French braids and stated cutting existing relaxer off the ends and in 2022 I got locs. Not sister or micro but regular ones. I didn’t like them in the wormy stage but my hair loc’d sooner than I thought. I then had to do chemo which comprised some of them. But I saved ones that thinned out and fell off and had my lady reattach them. I wear jewelry on mines and I get compliments everywhere I go. So take a leap and just be adventurous If you get the regular ones you CAN comb them out The reason I am watching her video is because NOW🙄 I’m considering combing mines out and doing sister locs. I would have a friend of mines do mines which will save me lots of moolah and she will teach me how to maintain them Be blessed in your journey Queen. I’m rooting for you👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾🤎🤎🤎
Hello Queen. I pray you are well. You definitely understand the feeling. You went back to the creamy crack!?!? I thought about it eons ago but I never did it. I made the decision to get sister locks. I am 3 months in! I regret not getting them sooner... I enjoy and love my baby locks frizz and size. I have fine hair so I couldn't get them bigger. Either way, I'm glad I made the decision. 😊 Many blessings to you 🙏🏾🤗 10:38

I am so glad I got them, but everyone is different.
no don't wait!!!!!!!!
Your locs are the perfect size 😍
Thank you so much =)
I LOVE YOUR HAIR AND THE STYLE
Thank you so much 😊 💕!!!
I wanted locs. I did get microlocs but right now I am a little tired of them..I can't style them and I am bored of them(I have had dem for almost 2 years-i started with really short hair). I wish they are longer
I am so sorry to hear you are struggling with your locs right now. I've been there before too.
Thanks! ☺
How do they feel? How do you find the right loctician. I will look at more of your videos
@@Subrinia I found mine on the Sisterlocks website.
So take a leap and just be adventurous
If you get the regular ones you CAN comb them out
The reason I am watching her video is because NOW🙄 I’m considering combing mines out and doing sister locs.
I would have a friend of mines do mines which will save me lots of moolah and she will teach me how to maintain them
Be blessed in your journey Queen. I’m rooting for you👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾🤎🤎🤎
Hello Queen. I pray you are well. You definitely understand the feeling. You went back to the creamy crack!?!? I thought about it eons ago but I never did it. I made the decision to get sister locks. I am 3 months in! I regret not getting them sooner... I enjoy and love my baby locks frizz and size. I have fine hair so I couldn't get them bigger. Either way, I'm glad I made the decision. 😊 Many blessings to you 🙏🏾🤗 10:38
I thought I loved my afro but like.... I keep my braids in almost all year. I want lots so bad 🥹
I got a retightening the day before yesterday but they were so tight I couldn't sleep because of the pain. I am concerned about my locs thinning out...will they ever have volume or should I start all over? I am only 2 months locd.
Great video, got a weird ad criticizing the 1619 project from prager university
Strange... Sorry about that. I have no clue what type of ads they put on my video LOL =)
This girl at work always has her locs in a style and I neverrrrrrr see her locs growing out smh . I believe she gets her locs retwisted every two weeks . She neverrrr let’s them hang .her friend which is a guy who used to have locs keeps coming up to me asking me when am I gonna get my hair done 😡😡😡😡 and that I should get it done .. he asked me this two weeks after a got a retwist . I have traditional locs . No thank u I don’t want my locs thin !!!
That guy sounds like this lady at my job smh . He needs to mind his business! I bet your locs are gorgeous!!!
I regret not taking better care of my first set of sisterlocks. There was no TH-cam or Instagram when I was started my first set in the late 90’s. So glad to be back on the sisterlocks team after some time away.
You are an OG in the game! I bet you learned so much from that first set =)
Thanks for all of the great info!
No problem! I am so happy it's been helpful!
Here watching
Thank you so much for watching!!!
Great video. I really enjoyed watching.
Glad you enjoyed it!!! Thank you so much for watching Marcia =)
What did you use on your scalp to grow & repair the damage done to it?
Jojoba oil and Jamaican Black Castor Oil
How long did it took your hair to become that length are u over a year in now
In this video, I think I was almost at 3 years.
Thanks for the tips! I watch Ronnie and her mom as well! Ronnie had traditional locs and her mom has sister locs. Since I’m a newbie with short, fine, low density hair who do you recommend I follow? As you stated in your video about following people who have/resemble my locs... that’s an awesome idea! I will still follow you tho! Lol! Keep the videos coming! I’m only there months into my journey and wish I would’ve started years ago! My daughter has traditional locs and they are beautiful. She is 5 years into her journey! I’m trusting the process!
Hi =) I am actually talking about a different Ronni, but I know who you are talking about. Here is the instagram of the Ronni I was referring to. Highly suggest you follow her: instagram.com/ronnnni/ ! She's so dope. I struggle finding people with low density hair. Here is the instagram of someone with short, fine hair: instagram.com/atlfalconalumnicheerleader/ . I love her content =) I do not know if I would describe it as low density, but I will pin this comment, and stay on the look out for you! If I find anyone, I should be able to find this comment again easily and add to the thread since it will be pinned =)
Still Nia Bia thank you! You are the best! Keep the videos on your advice, opinions, and experiences coming! I enjoy them so much! Thanks for the recommendations! Have a Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
Your hair is beautiful
My Locs are 2.5 -3 inches long.. I have to go with the flow😂 (4 months locked)
That’s the best way to do it Sis 😊
Love your room
Thank you so much 😊💕
Do you think you'll combine more of your locs?
Hi(: thanks for the comment. No, I’m not going to combine because if how it will impact my grid.
Beautiful ❗❗
Thank you so much !!!
How long does it take you personally to tighten your hair?
Honestly, I’ve still never sat down and tried to complete it all in one session. I may retightening a 1/4 of my hair, get tired of it. Take a week break and start again. Sometimes I’ll try to complete the whole front, or whole back half, and that takes me at least 1-2 days of like 3-4 hour sessions.
Very informative
Thank you so much!
Greatest locs of all time
Thank you so much =)
TFS! I'm 2 months into my microlocs journey (two-strand twists) and these are great tips to be mindful of.
I am so glad it was helpful!!!
Great video! I just did my first self retightening last weekend and although I did a good job, I did accidentally combine 4 of my locs😞 I won't let it stop me from self retightening though. #lessonlearned
Anyway, I follow you on IG...glad to find your YT channel as well. #newsubbie
Thank you so much for subscribing! I am glad this was helpful. Yes, don't give up! You'll get the hang of it =)
My first time I combined 2 lol...Its the rite of passage 😎 Def dont let it derail you...you will be a pro with practice in no time
@@mrs.joejoe6424 Thank you! I have to self retie again...I think my loctician fired me🤦🏾♀️
Carolina Girl in a Florida World I had that happen to me and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise 😎
@@mrs.joejoe6424 That's the way I'm looking at it! I'll just save my coins!😉
I want some locs but my hair isn't thik enough
Locs definitely thickened up my hair! Your thin hair may do well with locs.
So how did you learn to do it without the class?
I learned by watching TH-cam videos.
That’s good info...thank you
No problem (:
We do you want bigger locs?
Great video !! I just started my microloc journey, go check out my latest video to see the start to my journey!!!
Do you happen to know how many locks you have?
I have 432 =)
💚💚💚
Thank you for watching =) =) =) ! I appreciate the comment !
#550 😘🖤💪🏾✊🏾
How many Locs do you have?? I love the thickness
Thank you! 432
