    I think that people want different sized locs, not because they didn't plan their grid size well, but because there is no way to tell how your loc size will be after loc maturity. I have locs that are side-by-side and 1 is twice as thick as the other. I love the variations of locs.

      Hi ☺️! Thank you for sharing. I think that happens too. I know I did not ask for the size I really wanted. Just say in the chair and said I wanted Sisterlocks. Also Ronni says she didn’t think much about her sizing when she started her own locs, so I definitely think both situations occur.

    I got my Sisterlocks in May 2015. I went to my loctician for 1 year and then took the class. I love doing things myself. I’ve never looked back. @@Niaimani92 I’m in Canada. I paid $250 for a one-on-one retie class with a master Sisterlocks loctician. It was expensive, but worth it to me because I know I’m doing it properly and I like using the Sisterlocks retie tool (I got 2 in the package). Well if it can bring u some comfort, I did my own microlocs about 1/4 inch square or smaller because I wanted extraaa small microlocs for the volume.Took me 2 weeks where I would braid every single day from morning to far in the night. Had 900+ locs. Well after my 2 first reties I combined them all cause I just couldn't handle the reti time (2weeks). And I even combined locs that were already combined now it takes me less then a week . So yeah at least u probably reti faster. AND u risk waaay less breakage than smaller locs.

Also many people don’t know how to properly combine locs so that the base is still strong. Parting is really important. Too much drama towards me when I decided to cut my waist length locs to just skimming my shoulder. Ppl telling me I was nuts…I also stopped coloring. I havre white hair and I love it. Still mostly black. But it’s a nice contrast. Lighter colors like white, platinum come forward. And nicely frame your hairline and shows of your facial beauty.
    Darker colors, black,blue black, very dark brown recede. So your face is not highlighted as much.
    And wearing a head wrap is mandatory to prevent lint

    Hi Nia. When you began retying your own locs, were you concerned about maintaining the original parts on a strict level? I may have to retie because my loctitian will be away past my retie due date.

    Hello @Still Nia I've been going back and forth about getting locs. I don't know if I want sister locs or micro locs. What does not help is one minute I say I do but then I change my mind because I'm scared I won't like them.

    • @dtaylor4952
      @dtaylor4952 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I was the same sis. My son rocks 37 inches with his dreds and always told me I should do it too. In 2020 I started my husband’s and I cut my natural ( huge Afro) off just to go back to creamy crack after being rehabilitated from it for three years.
      I then grew my natural hair back out. Wore French braids and stated cutting existing relaxer off the ends and in 2022 I got locs. Not sister or micro but regular ones.
      I didn’t like them in the wormy stage but my hair loc’d sooner than I thought. I then had to do chemo which comprised some of them. But I saved ones that thinned out and fell off and had my lady reattach them.
      I wear jewelry on mines and I get compliments everywhere I go. So take a leap and just be adventurous
      If you get the regular ones you CAN comb them out
      The reason I am watching her video is because NOW🙄 I’m considering combing mines out and doing sister locs.
      I would have a friend of mines do mines which will save me lots of moolah and she will teach me how to maintain them
      Be blessed in your journey Queen. I’m rooting for you👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

      Hello Queen. I pray you are well. You definitely understand the feeling. You went back to the creamy crack!?!? I thought about it eons ago but I never did it. I made the decision to get sister locks. I am 3 months in! I regret not getting them sooner... I enjoy and love my baby locks frizz and size. I have fine hair so I couldn't get them bigger. Either way, I'm glad I made the decision. 😊 Many blessings to you 🙏🏾🤗 10:38

    • @Niaimani92
      @Niaimani92 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, I’ve still never sat down and tried to complete it all in one session. I may retightening a 1/4 of my hair, get tired of it. Take a week break and start again. Sometimes I’ll try to complete the whole front, or whole back half, and that takes me at least 1-2 days of like 3-4 hour sessions.
