Wonderful install and use of untapped space, makes me want to do mine over again... I have a GD 312bhts with 400ah /800w ontop.

This is definitely one of our favorite installations. Glad you enjoyed it!

Great setup and clean install. im thinking of purchasing the 2400's big brother in the 2800bh.
Curious as to the ballpark cost to do this?

I really like your jobs. I have the same Rv and wanting to install solar like that but i have a 50amp service

We’ve done so many Grand Design Imagine’s I forget the specifics on this one, but with Multiplus 3000 2x120 you can have the best of both worlds. 30 amp inverter, 50 amp service when on the pole .
If you want true 50 amp on inverter power, that’s another animal we can solve too, just most people don’t need it.

Really enjoy your videos!!! Do you sell the little lynx power adapters you make? Thanks

I do, e-mail me shawn@sotasolar.com with your address and I can send a payment link. I need to check on price, it’s like $25 I think.

Is the dc to dc charger put in because of the battery size. Is it necessary if you just do 2x 100ah batteries?

DC charger does a few things. 1) it precisely manages charge voltage no matter what the alternator is outputting. 2) it separates the trailer from the tow vehicle when turned off. 3) it reduces charge amps to a manageable level for the alternator.
With that said it is not required, just don’t expect you’re batteries to get fully charged from tow vehicle , make sure to disconnect the plug if parking overnight . Lastly every trailer I’ve seen has a thermal breaker that will limit charging to 50 amps anyway to protect wires and alternator. In short you’ll be fine without one, you’re just missing a few niceties.

So what do you charge for labor to do an install like this?

Usually ends up around $2,000 to $4000 depending on RV , size of install and overall complexity. We're working on complete packages that include everything so it's a bit more predictable.
