I'm currently reading a Chinese (Tang Dynasty) poetry Anthology, and i just read a poem by Bai Juyi about the West Lake in Hangzhou - A Visit to Qiantang Lake in Spring. Thank you for sharing those images! Bai Juyi is my favorite poet in this antology so far, i loved his poem "The red parrot" (a brazillian-portuguese translation of it).
Yes Bai Jvyi actually worked as the mayor (or its middle-age equivalent) of Hangzhou and he rallied the people to construct a causeway on the lake. You can still walk on it if you go there today

Hello from Vietnam, Chinese cultures is beautiful but also are so hard to be captured without knowing the Chinese language, I'm currently studying Mandarin in university and hopefully I would be able to use the languages as the channel to get to learn about the magnificent cultures that were once blossomed on the land of China. Thanks for the great content.

@@phoenixhou4486 you could contact me for help with studying Vietnamese, eventhough I'm a native speaker, I do pay a lot of attention to how this languages is built grammartically, and the relationships between the vocabs, and I would love to teach languages as well since it would help me to retrospect on the languages structure. So, please feel free to contact me if you ever need helps.
What I remember was that Hangzhou felt very hot and humid after being in Suzhou for a while.
The south is generally very hot and humid throughout the summer. Excruciating to someone from the north like me haha

@@phoenixhou4486 then i would recommend you to study Sanskrit..Hindi is a derivation of Sanskrit, so are other Indian languages.

苏堤给我印象最深的是傍晚的灯光秀，用布做的栏杆，沿着桥很长一段，把一边挡起来，好似在像路人宣告，没掏门票的，你们没机会看。但他们确实是在利用自然风光做show，我确实连看的兴趣都没有了

I saw the video where you spoke 10 languages (th-cam.com/video/6GSUSuZkchw/w-d-xo.html) and I want to say here where you have a higher chance of seeing this, if you are still learning Turkish, (I know it has been 2 years) it will be much easier for you to learn it in Japanese instead of in French. The grammar and stuff is nearly the same, as you probably do know.
I’m studying Uyghur and I hope my Knowledge in Uyghur will bleed into my Turkish
很有文化素养和底蕴的博主，但个人的观点长安之厚重繁盛，北京之蓬勃威严，貌似好一点点。
我還一直以為你是美國華裔或者小時候去的。可一看到你的中文就知道不可能是後來學的，也比你其他的語言又不在一個級別（雖然其他級別都很好）。我基本百分之三四十的字都不會認。由此可見掌握好母語對外語學習的重要性。我看中國的文學作品，除了白話文的，其他都只能看翻譯，白話文也要經常查字典。中文詞彙真正感覺無窮無盡呀，像西方文字，學個兩三年下來，基本文學作品裡面所有詞都會認（方言，特殊語言除外），因為我會拉丁語和希臘語。中文父母小時候都在教，後來還去學校學，結果打開稍微文學一點的書，都是不認識的字。有的詞意思可以猜，因為中文那種兩個同義字組詞，我會認其中一個。要是看那些古文完全看不懂。所以我漸漸都不喜歡看了，覺得我就讀讀歐洲語言的書就好。其次我也不懂中國歷史，我都已經吃力地，通過Livy & Tacitus大概了解了罗马历史，然后又通过旅游了解了中世纪历史，还要去了解中国历史，那么多人，都差不多的名字，真是太多了。司马迁也没有Livy有意思，像个中世纪作家，读不下去。
我最近在讀史記，其實司馬遷的文筆要用另外一種方式來欣賞。歐洲史Tacitus我看過一些，最喜歡Gibbon的，每次英語寫不出去翻一翻感覺就有思路了。
这文笔，985毕业文科生没跑了。
