Do you remember which holley by pass regulator you are using? Is it the 12-887 ? Also, if I understand, you are still running the stock fuel pumps, and that regulator is able to handle the 40 psi inlet and reduce it to 6-7. I'm currently swapping my 95 F250 5.8. Thanks!
I don't know about the part number but yes stock pumps and a low pressure bypass return regulator I have a few different vehicles and all the newer style Holley regulators have fail I started using China aeromotive
My 87 short box F150 needs this exact swap if I ever do want it to run again. 5.0 with the C6. I can keep all the emissions like the air pump there just to look correct.
So the in tank pumps are still used? But, the regulator squeezes down the pressure to carb level that is needed? Does this hurt the in tank factory pumps to be pushing against this reduction? Can a manual fuel pump be installed and in tank pumps removed? Just for reliability....as the removal of tanks for this pumps are a bitch. Looks good.

You can hook a gauge up and read tv pressure from the TV port on the trans but I just take all the slack out of the cable and throttle linkage put just a little cable tension and lock the clip is where I start after that if u want it to hold shifts longer tighten the cable a little
Nice conversion... I have project car that needs convertion to carb... Does the Holley fuel pressure regulator work with the high pressure from the oem efi fuel pump and drop the pressure all the way from around 5 bar to around 7-9 psi..?

From what I know the 4r70w gets expensive to to do this swap you have to put a throttle body position sensor on the carb on the choke side and there's a company that makes a control box that will run the trans but last I checked it was over $500
Run a c6 like I am I you want reliability over fuel mileage. AOD if you want an auto but hydraulic control. Get a controller for the 4r70w or swap to a 5 speed.

Yessir that be awesome
I love this. I wanna do this conversion on my 95f250.... Did you have to replace the heads?
You don't have to replace the heads but I did put aluminum heads on it
So the in tank pumps are still used? But, the regulator squeezes down the pressure to carb level that is needed? Does this hurt the in tank factory pumps to be pushing against this reduction? Can a manual fuel pump be installed and in tank pumps removed? Just for reliability....as the removal of tanks for this pumps are a bitch. Looks good.
If u use a bypass fuel regulator there will only be 6/7psi on the factory pumps because the rest of the fuel and pressure is returned to the tank

I like what you've done. I have a 1995 f350 with 460 efi I'm wanting to to the same thing. On the TPS do I need a complete controller or can I just use a TPS sensor from us shift.
Either way will work if u just buy the tps sensor for your choice of carb
How did you get your cable set correctly for the AOD? Don't you have to read the pressure somehow???
You can hook a gauge up and read tv pressure from the TV port on the trans but I just take all the slack out of the cable and throttle linkage put just a little cable tension and lock the clip is where I start after that if u want it to hold shifts longer tighten the cable a little
Nice conversion... I have project car that needs convertion to carb... Does the Holley fuel pressure regulator work with the high pressure from the oem efi fuel pump and drop the pressure all the way from around 5 bar to around 7-9 psi..?
That's how mine is as long as you have a return to return all the extra fuel pressure you golden and make sure u get the low pressure regulator for carb use because they have the same regulator for high pressure EFI use too

Great video. I'm in the middle of converting my 96 F150, and according to my door tag I have the A4R70W transmission, my question is what if anything do I need to do different as far as electrical. Sorry if that sounds dumb, I've never really worked on ford's of this generation. Thanks!
