- 17 minute special filmed in 2008 starring Peter Wingfield (Methos), Elizabeth Gracen (Amanda), and Jim Byrnes (Joe) reprising their roles. It takes place 10 years after the series between the fourth and fifth movies. Filming took place at Wingfield's beach home with the actors volunteering in their roles. The plot involved the characters discussing Methos' plans to get married and settle down with a mortal woman and her son.

I really wish Methos had gotten his own show (with Joe)...they were great, so great.
Correct, Highlander Raven could had been he's own show not Amanda despise i lke her as well.
Ten years after the series ended and they still fall right back into their roles as if it were yesterday! Wonderful to see them all together again!
Wingfield is a great guy. I've met him in person. Although he is featured in Highlander The Series and Endgame, I don't think we saw enough of the character, considering he is 5000 years old.
The irony is the immortals look older but Joe looks the same age.
CG is the way to go. The actors can be de-aged significantly. (The upcoming movie Captain Marvel de-ages Nick Fury and Colson for example. 20 to 30 years younger).
That's why the owners of HIghlander should just sell to Marvel.

True, in Will Smith latest movie he plays 23 years old because they de-age him but it will be too much work, it be a lot easier to get someone younger,
I admit I never understood why they didn't go with Methos for a sequel series. SO MUCH more time to play with.
Methos ended up being the best thing about the Highlander

The current owners are incompetent and haven't done anything significant in 20 years. in the era of Netflix, Hulu, HD, etc. they are either absent (or incompetent producing more bad movies).

Anybody remember when methos was revealed to b a horsemen who murdered more men than the plague. That was shocking. And Amanda was great. Tessa dies biggest shocker moment, heartbreaking.
Bring back Highlander!
Joe and Methos were the best characters from the show

This is shot like a sit-com and i love it. Joe's grown a potty mouth and i love that even more

Confession: There's a teeny, tiny part of me that ships Methos and Amanda. It's very tiny, but it's there.
The fan girl in me just totally messed my pants. I had no idea this was out there. *squeals* NEVER understood girls fainting for bands -- for this . .. hell yeah.
they could have done this show for years! It was great. Hell this show could have still been on and I would love it with all of them! They don't look that old, could have went on for years! Loved this show.
They could have done this show for years yes. Could've done a Methos Show, but instead did more horrible movies in the tradition of Highlander 2.

Methos really ROCKS! :D
I think they missed a big opportunity to have these two pair up for adventures as the leads in Highlander: the Raven. They could have played off the tension like Scully and Mulder. They always had some interesting scenes in the show together.
Like I said, the owners are the problem.
They don't know how to take care of their franchise. 20 years since the series, and nothing but duds.
They need to sell their franchise to a company like Marvel, Warner, Dreamworks... so someone can take better care of it.
Highlander was one of my favorite series to watch I love that show I wish they didn't cancel it

@tylerdude1982 yes, The Four Horsemen episodes were some of the best episodes. Also, Methos was such a fun character to watch, very well acted
5,000 ++ years old and never mastered cooking pasta.
2 of the most intriguing Characters of the lore and it was great to watch this again.

They easily could have done a mini series 10 years ago about what the characters were up to in the 21st century with smart phones, twitter, Facebook, stuff like that but since they are portraying immortal characters that window has passed. A reboot has been in development for years.
CG is the answer. Like the movie Captain Marvel where they de-age Samuel Jackson by 20 to 30 years.
This is why Highlander should be sold to a company like Marvel. The current owners just don't have the resources; and they don't know what to do with their franchise.
Actually, considering their history, I think it's just about right that Joe is the best man, not Mac. Doesn't mean I don't think Mac wouldn't crash the wedding . . . but unless Mac and Methos were in the middle of one of their 'close times' - which from the references, they're not - it makes total sense to me that he'd ask Joe. Besides . . . I think it's an appropriate honor for Joe, a mortal, who is aging, to be best man and not Mac. JMO, of course
It also sounds like Joe just might not be around much longer. The prostrate could end up killing him.

sometimes looked like cheap sets but i absolutely loved Highlander. Duncan Mcloud was great. They should make a video game on x box .

Lol and smh . Stick bones lady. She had an interesting character at times. Liked her better than Tessa but neither of them were very attractive ladies. Elizabeth couldn’t get that hair together ever. Mac was groomed and looked better than she did. She was cute at times when she had hair. Those pixie cuts did very little to show off her soft side. Thank goodness she a little bit of fat in her face .

Agreed, they worked really well together. The Four Horsemen episodes were in my opinion the best of the series. I enjoyed anything to do with Methos.
Pizza? *head desk* Methos, Methos, Methos, what to do with you? Am I the only one that thought it would be odd for Methos to pick Joe over Mac as his best man? I mean, I realize that decision was probably based on who Peter could get to do this little project of his, but still... seemed a bit weird to me.

what makes The Source so upsetting is that the movie had potential, whereas Highlander 2 was doomed from it's inception (although to this day it still has one of my favourite Quickening shots)
If you buy one of the full seasons of Highlander I think it might be season 5 maybe or 4 I can't recall right now but you will get Methos Rocks as a free gift fro Itunes you can't get it alone sadly.

I think the mistake they made was trying to center a story that has a myriad of complex characters. McCleod will always be the Highlander but you have Methos, Amanda, Carl Robinson, Gregor Powers, etc. a whole shitload of characters or potential characters that were never touched upon. The story and universe can still be entertaining if centered around another character or hell, just stories of the other immortals.
+Syphon Filter I totally agree, that Amanda and Methos, despite being the 2 second most shown immortals don't get enough time to shine. The TV show could have done a lot better with a more defined angle like the themes in this mini episode, and i think this is evidence of the writers realizing this.

Kudos for trying, but it doesn't synch, sadly. Amanda should know that Methos is willing/able to commit for the right person. He stayed with the woman who was dying of cancer, after all! He traveled the world with her!
And are they seriously remaking the first Highlander film? I hope they do it justice (and modernize it well since the first was very much a product of its times, but an AWESOME product of its times)!

The movies sucked so badly. If they were all in it that would have been great. Methos and Amanda should have been in them. McCloud will always love Amanda so putting other actresses in them was a mistake. I do miss the series the casting was perfect.

I'm sorry but this reunion was very disappointing. I wanted to see a fight, a beheading and quickening instead it happened off screen
That’s because of the budget. This short episode was even shot in the producers beach villa (Bill Panzer).
Good to see them, but the script is awful, and Gracen is showing her age.

+wrlord I thought the script was actually quite good, if not better than most highlander episodes. Ok, the subject matter was incredibly good. This is the type of themes highlander is especially good for. The actual dialogue is still pretty good I thought. If it seemed dry compared to normal highlander I think it is partly the fault of how motionless the independent film is. It feels like a stage play. Highlander always had quite a sense of motion, going here, there chasing after someone. They didn't intend to do any of that, its just the character interaction. This is 17 minutes of densely written interplay between 3 characters that are quite deep and for that it really shines. Also Gracen still looks pretty good, blonde was a good idea. I was expecting a lot more aging from them all.
