If you press and hold the HVAC button that switches the screens, it'll let you set one or the other as a default so, say you set heating controls as default, if you go to the other menu and pull your hand away, it should go back to HVAC settings on its own.

This would be a great solution if you're someone who rarely changes the climate or rarely changes the audio. But I think most people change both pretty regularly, so it doesn't really address the annoyance of constantly having to change modes before being able to do what you want.

same. I don't like the sides of the Tucson. That's the only issue I have it, too much angular stuff going on. Front on Tucson is solid and rear is nice too, but Sportage interior is nicer in my opinion. Tucson has a lot more gloss black in the infotainment section and starts to look a little Toyota/Honda like, meaning cheap

The large Tucson control screen is modified on the 2025 model. But they need to make changes to the touch sensitive Locking controls on front door handles---they can be very hard to use in the rain. Kia uses easy to locate lock buttons.
Both models can automatically turn on the air conditioning compressor if high humidity is detected. But the Tucson has a Diffuse setting that uses special vents & heat/defroster vents to cool or heat without blowing air on your face---very comfortable.

Leave it at Climate Control and use Auto. Whatever temp you set it will keep it at that temp. Then use Steering wheel to control media. At your thumb! Go ahead and try it. It is so easy. I think how they did that screen is very smart. With just one click you can switch back and forth if necessary. But I think most users will use it the way I described. I would. Yup, I looked at the non-hybrid and tested that when it came out, then tested the hybrid - was waiting for the PHEV version but the dealer markup makes it $50k. Plus you can't custom order a vehicle and won't do dealer to dealer trades, so whatever they have are your choices. Given that dealers are getting single digit cars a week, the chances of getting a car with exactly what you want are slim to none. It was a no for me, I bought a different car instead.

They have zero incentive to lower prices for anyone, most of the dealer inventory was sold out 2-3 weeks before the cars even arrived. Note this is not a BS line, a dealer I know pretty well showed me Kia's inventory control system and 70% of the cars were already sold....

@@TheStraightPipes I owned the 2023 Sportage for a month now and I found that switching audio sources via the steering wheel "MODE" button will also change the screen. E.g I switch the audio source to Radio and my screen will automatically exit Carplay and goes to the Radio screen. If I switch audio back to Carplay, then the screen automatically switches back to Carplay. Also my screen automatically switches to Carplay when I plug my phone in. I have not needed to press the shortcut to Carplay in quite some time.
Also I think a lot of people nowadays just live in Carplay/Android Auto and the Radio/Nav buttons are useless to them. If they use Radio/SiriusXM then I can see the buttons being inconvenient.

I’d be willing to recommend this to others if the dealer network here in Texas wasn’t so corrupt. They’ve been charging huge markups on Tellurides ($5k initially, $15k in early 2021) since late 2019, and have put huge markups on the Seltos and Sorento since those models launched. It’s even worse now.

@@raceboy1971 not really. You don't see best buy adding upcharges to iphones around the launch of the new models. They do it because there are only a few Kia dealer groups in Texas, so consumers have ultra limited options here. For example: one company owns all of the Kia dealers in Austin and most in Dallas. That means they can fix the price.
