Progress man Progress. I honestly believe the injuries hindered you the most. You’ll be good to get those big times soon in outdoors as long as you can stay healthy, be cautious each day you train, and just remain optimistic!!!!

I agree, injuries can take a big toll. I've been being as cautious as I can and things seem to be looking up, as hopefully you'll see in the next few videos. Thank you so much for the support

Firstly, good video. Keep grinding! I wanted to share something about short to long aprroach, i had 54.50 outdoor 400m pb last year coming back from a long injury, with the start of this season i only focused to 60m and never did anything above 120 meters and they were really rare. Then i ran 4 indoor races which resulted in 7.26 and 7.33 for 60m and 52.53 and 51.89 for 400m (i am injured for 2 months now so i didn't probably run my best times but still) which is kinda dissapointing because 400m time nearly has the same IAAF points with my 60m even though i didn't train for it at all, then i concluded this result because of me improving my top speed only. Also i ran my first 200m of the 400m at 24high to 25 flat on both occasions, never tried running fast for the first 200. I was really confused with trainings i've done and results i got so i understand you on this.

Those are huge PRs, that's awesome. I get what you're saying, I do believe max speed is the key performance indicator of the 400m, but of course true 400m work can't be neglected. If you trained for it specifically I'd bet you could throw down a very good 400m. Nice work!

You got this man, its all a process. Injuries and other things get in the way but you WILL overcome the adversity. I feel you on the no indoor track thing because our school doesn’t even have a track 😭 Good luck bro and I believe in you!

Is there a chance you might not be preforming well enough due to the sprint workouts you're doing? All the videos ive seen 400m atheletes trianing has a lot to due with 300m sprints max effort racing a partner.

There's definitely a chance. Our lack of indoor facility makes it tough to do that kind of workout year round. We actually did just start doing almost that exact thing this last week, but you won't see that video for a week or two. It's certainly food for thought, thank you for the comment!

my goal for this season is 48,5 and i ran 50,30 indoor. am i in pace?

It depends a bit on what kind of athlete you are and if you ran on banked or flat tracks. If you're like me and struggle indoor I'd say you're absolutely on pace. You can usually estimate a 2 second difference between flat indoor and flat outdoor (1 second per lap) so you could say you're theoretically on pace for 48.3. keep me updated on how it goes, you're running very well!
