Look on craigslist I have seen free or nearly free kayaks. You can find something, for halibut you dont need to get far from shore. Thanks for checking out the video and making a comment!
ChrisPfish Oh I have 2 boats one in Richmond and another in Sac. Just a little busy right now and can’t get on the water. In the summer we actually go swimming in the spot you’re fishing at. Enjoy all your videos!
Nothing better than fresh halibut. Hit enter twice on your fish finder when you hook fish. It will show as way points. I do it all the time in lakes and on the Columbia river. So youll have the slug trail and where you hooked fish.
Hey Chris! Any chance you have a link for that fish finder? We need a better one that has the depth like that. The one we have is cheap but worked fine for the lake....not so much the ocean lol
Hello Robert, thanks for checking out the video and making a comment. Yes those were some nice halibut to start the season. I caught a couple real nice ones a few days later so stay tuned for that video!
I paddle SUP and drift/troll in the Carquinez strait.. any knowledge in that area for halibut? I primarily target Stripers curious if halibut are there?
yeah I love chatting with him. Upper 80's and still working every day through this virus. I hope he stays okay, he is a trooper! Thanks for checking out the video and making a comment!
Hi Chris great videos. I was just wondering if you are launching at the marina and what time does the bait shop open? We are planning on going tomorrow (Thursday 4/2) and hoping to launch there. Do you know if the smelt can be caught in the bay? Thank you in advance. Greg
hey there, yeah I am going out tomorrow morning as well. Bait shop opens at 7. Yeah you can catch smelt in the bay. Some days its easy some days its hard. Just gotta find them.
Hi Robert, they came with my bought. I bought it used and previous owner left a lot of stuff like that. Thanks for checking out the video! Bites good right now, get out if you can
Just subscribed. I own a gym in Hayward, Ca. Keep up the good videos and fishing! Very cool channel. Come out with merch and ill for sure grab something to support you!
Hey there, thanks for checking out the video! Yeah all the piers are closed too. Look on craiglists for a kayak or something. I have seen them for free before or basically free. Maybe a paddle board on a nice morning with live bait drifting?
you always want to be on the bottom or as close as you can without touching it. So you want to keep checking your just inches above it. That is true for both trolling and drifting. Thanks for checking out the video and making a comment!
hello, yeah you use a lighter weight. it always depends on depth and drift speed. Normally its 2-5oz. I would say trolling its normally a 6-16oz. Thanks for checking out the video and making a comment!
Pier looks closed because no one is on it. I went there today and landed one keeper in 3 hours. Thanks for checking out the video and making a comment!
Try the drift into angel island on the incoming. Set your boat to aim directly at the tall rock formation to the right of the fort. Always productive on incoming. High tides - Berkeley flats. Basically look for the crowd.
Right on for caring about not damaging the fish's tail!
Hey there, of course. I appreciate you always checking out my videos!
Good job guys
You're killing me with all these videos! Stuck on land. Awesome job out there

Looked like a nice low wind day. What time did you stop fishing halis and what was the wind at the point?
thanks for checking out the video! We stopped about 12pm. Wind was just a couple miles per hour.

you always want to be on the bottom or as close as you can without touching it. So you want to keep checking your just inches above it. That is true for both trolling and drifting. Thanks for checking out the video and making a comment!
Do you use a lighter wait when drifting I’ve never drifted before

They make nets that won’t shred their tails
I do want to get a new net. Is that the rubber ones? Thanks for watching the video and making a comment!
@@ChrisPfish2 fraibil makes a rubber net, I got one just for halibut. And the sinker doesn't get tangled in in due to the smaller holes.
