Bro this was amazing after only having seen your omegle videos. You're charisma and joking with the locals so naturally brings out an interesting side you don't necessarily see in others videos.
Absolutely love the interactions you have with people, especially switching it up with the languages. Being bilingual or in your case multilingual really opens up opportunities & the peoples faces when you converse in their language is a joy. Keep up the great work. Love your videos.👍🏻
I think it's OK that it's that way, because Mandarin is the language of Mainland China & Taiwan just for political reasons, but the people of China have always had many different languages
Aw man, I had no idea you were in Indonesia! I was just there only last month! :( You have great comprehension of Indonesian I'm really jealous! I always struggle with comprehension specifically. Especially when native speakers are speaking quickly and informally...and behind masks, its super tough xD
Just to be fair to you, when someone says: kamu PINTER bahasa indonesia, the translation is not: your indonesian is good. It's: you speak indonesian very well! 👏🏻
Ryan i am wondering if you do this trip with the money provided from YT. If Yes, this is REALY GREAT!! Because this would inspire other people to learn languages and travel the world! By the way i am a big FAN and also a polyglot too!! I speak portuguese, japanese, english, spanish and italian!! CONGRATS FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL CHANNEL
Honestly, I was quite surprised that there were VERY few Mandarin speakers for it being Chinatown. I was there for quite a few hours and tried talking to many different people as well. Hmm...
@@RyanHaleYTChinese Indonesian don't usually speak mandarin, we are more fluent in some chinese dialects such as hokkien, teochew, hakka, khek, or even cantonese. I hear some of the ladies in the video where you buy some choco pie speaking in chinese dialect

I wish I knew how to learn languages. I'm 43 and my mom's side is Colombian and speak Spanish but mainly English after moving to the US when they were kids. My ldr gf is in the Philippines. I'd love to one day speak Spanish (always have) and Tagalog now. Thanks for the videos ✌️

Normally i don't like the kinda guy speaks asian language and shocks the native kinda videos, but I really liked your video, you're just good at talking to people in a normal manner
Greetings from Jakarta, please to meet you on TH-cam. Have great and wonderful travelling in Jakarta and surrounding in Indonesia 🇮🇩 take care and God bless you 🙏
Indonesean people seem so friendly. U get that most of these people sell things so they are good at communicating with strangers. But it seems like normal people also are friendly too
Hey Ryan. Wanted to know if Albany has a famous dish. Buffalo has wings, Rochester has the garbage plate, NYC has god knows… but yeah. Anyways best wishes
@@RyanHaleYT I shall try said Steamed Hams and give a rating while watching the northern lights 😎 But in reality was just curious about foods around there. Best of luck and awesome videos!
Go to Chinatown in Manila. They not only speak Tagalog, but Chinese. The Chinese there is not Mandarin, nor Cantonese. It will be Hokkien/ Fukienese. Which is the same as Taiwanese.
This is what makes Indonesian people different from western people. Indonesians are mostly friendly, they like greeting foreigners , starting up small talks 😊 and most of all, their mutual aids manner stand out the most 👍👍
Well, if you're going for that Mandarin experience - I'll suggest that you should go to Medan and Pontianak instead for it. Well, since the Chinese of Jakarta and the locals who live inside the Chinese Quarter seems to speak Indonesian more than Chinese due to history. Quite a bloody one, really - IIRC.
Akhirnya bicara scara real sma orang2 indonesia😂😂😂.. biasa nyari orang indo di ometv skrang real ngomong ke oranh indonesia langsung😂😂😂 Wellvome to indonesi

Right on! You make solo travel look awesome, given you have friends there, but still, so inspiring! 😃You just make people smile wherever you go.
damn, you're really good lol I met a lot of foreigners who live here for years and still talk like a toddler
