Your pot comes to the boil much quicker with a lid on.

Also a great set up for a power outage at home or just as an additional stove for heating or warming. Good demo, thanks.

These are very handy as emergency stoves, Work great. I always wrote them off, then I finally got one and now I understand why people like them. Just keep a good supply of the butane cans on hand and you are good to go.

I'm pretty certain that this type (shape and canister it uses) of stove was first designed by Japanese in 1970's if not earlier,
and wide spread in Far East Asia and South East Asia.
Also used by Asian community in USA, but only recently spread to non-Asian folks in USA.

I’m wondering that too. I’m concerned about 2 things. 1) undetected flammable gas leaks. 2) the parked vehicle getting too hot while the canister is sitting inside.
In fact, it’s such a concern for me, that I think the safety issue is a deal breaker. I might just pass on getting one.

If you look at the negative reviews on Amazon, several people mentioned the burner melted after a few uses. Some even uploaded pics with it.
I think a similar Propane stove is a much better alternative: the green bottles are more expensive, but we can use a hose adapter and connect the stove to a 20lbs propane tank. There's even a hose to transfer/refill from a 20lbs tank to a 1lb green bottle so in the long it's much cheaper

Its june 2020 now. I just bought mine a month ago for my semi truck. And I use a cast iron skillet cause you only use boiling water to clean it. Itll heat water in 2 or 3 minutes. I havent tried cooking in the truck but for now i put it on my trailer and cook outside

I use to use a propane stove in my semi truck (Coleman power pack) but that thing takes up too much space. The main problem I had with it was the long arm that connects to a 1lb propane tank. It was just all in the damn way. I switched to a sterno butane burner and I friggin love it. I just use a regular Teflon pan for mines. The truck stop food will kill you faster than the Teflon lol

This video is like 6 years old.. but still up to date. I was shopping for an alternative to propane burner for camping and i found this youtube video.. and the strange coincidence is that i also happen to do reloading lol.. do you think that little butane burner can melt lead bullet ? I wish you had put more water cuz im looking to boil enough water for pasta… and one question remains, how many time can you boil let say three or four time that amount of water to cook pasta? How much butane will be left? Is one can enough for breakfast lunch and dinner?..

    • @XOXO-mb2vh

Make sure gas or butane is bodyheat warm to flow correctly. Somebody recommended keeping the canister under my shirt till I was ready to use it outside when it was cold out. Otherwise the flame is weak or wont start at all.

    • @donmac7229
      @donmac7229 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Butane and propane do not like the cold really the boiling point is low on them but the closer you get to that cold temp the less the change in pressure can change the liquid to gas if it stays as I liquid they are not designed to burn the liquid only the fuel gas

This style stove is perfect for short term power outages. I keep cans of heat and serve foods like beans or pasta or soup. If you want to cook an actual meal buy your butane by the case or go with a propane unit you can link to a 20lb tank.

Use a spray bottle with dish soap and spray the erea where the can is hooked to. If you see bubbles, the can is installed wrong or might need a new stove. They are safe and very easy to use. If your inside in like a house you can use them if power goes out or worse. They heat quickly just keep flammable stuff away.

If the pot is bigger than the trivet heat gets reflected back on the canister and boom. You have to be very careful with this type of stove (Perhaps not this brand). The canister lock mechanisms have been known to disengage accidentally with a resulting flame out. Youth organisations in the UK have been advised not to use this type. My wife could not get a kettle to boil while on the beach. Best used by an adult in a completely windless draught free environment then they are fine.

The problem with those butane stoves is that the fuel canister does not stay locked in very well so the flame starts out really nice and high when they are new but within literally a few minutes the canister seems to back out of the locked in position and the flame reduces to about half of what it was when you started out. I thought there was a problem with my fuel canister but I traded with different ones n had the same problem. Took the stove back and had the same results with the new one. If you press on the back of the fuel canister your plane comes back high like it was when you first put it in. It is too bad that cold man cannot fix this problem, they are really nice so otherwise. I broke down and spent $85 on Amazon, I bought an Iwatani, very very nice, no problems at all.

I haven't experienced this fading issue but i have noticed that the sheet metal under the regulator is a bit flimsy and bends a little when you lock in the can.

Brother, I just bought one of these now in 2023 July 5th actually THE PRICE IS now AROUND $29.97 NOW and that Coleman brand Butane Canisters are $2.97 each as per Starkville MS...You know the Famous Miss. State Bulldogs???...lol Anyways...the Butane canisters are wayyyyyy cheaper than the propane bottle, small versions, and I just cooked off camera some Catfish, fries and shrimp...in wayyy less time than I thought it would, with Butane canisters....but it's super hot here in Mississippi so in my opinion right now this is a great back=up camping survival stand by in 2023. I'm gonna try to recreate this fabula supper In a Sunday Video...because I'm full now and just need something sweet like Peanut Butter to get the fish taste out of me mouth...lol.,

No no no, not for cold outdoor temperature cooking. Butane and cold air don't do well together. Use propane for cold weather cooking or liquid fuel stoves for winter outdoor use.
