Yes. By routing the output of the Strike instrument track itself to an audio track we captured whatever signal was not captured by the individual drum routing to audio tracks. In this case the room mics and talkback mics were still coming out of the instrument track. By printing that instrument track output to an audio track we captured that signal for use later. I like to print everything as it is more reliable than MIDI and will be better compensated by Delay Compensation.
Thank you for posting this tutorial. I am working on my final project for school and I am using strike and I wanted to make each drum into its own track and other things and this video just answered all of the questions I had regarding strike.
Just came across this video Awesome. Well explained not only how to print your tracks using strike but short cuts were also great. As many, I immediately looked for Part two and 3 if it existed, but no luck. Mr. Dale is there a part 2 and 3 that you teach on Strike, if so, who can I participate and enjoy more of your learning. Great teach method. In advance, thank you and hope to hear from you soon. Part II and III would put me so much more in tune with Strike. Thank you once again. Julio Matta
That is actually an "I" for Input Monitoring. Input Monitoring is used to monitor the inputs without having the tracks record enabled. If you click the "I" near the Record and Solo buttons, it will enable them for Input Monitoring.
Very good tutorial, thanks. I was trying to rout strike tracks to audio tracks but I noticed that your tracks have a (1) in between the record and solo buttons and My did not. How do I do that? thank you.
Hi Bryan, I'm using pro tools 11. The button that you clicked to enable the input monitoring is just a blank gray spot on each of my tracks. Have you run into this before and is there a way to fix it?
Hands down one of the best PT tutorials I've seen!! Very infirmative, clear and valuable!

Am I the only one here who can't get Strike to get SOME punch, without clipping? It's quiet as a mouse!
