Hey, most of the original demons were fallen angels, which actually makes them closer to humans than one would think. I think that would logically lead to 2 different types of demons, based on the lineage, being the pure evil from satan variety, and the slightly more sinful than human fallen angel variety, and I kinda wish that was actually something noted in the bible, as that would be an excellent excuse to have demon on demon wars, pointing out war as a bad thing.

There is another theory that sulvan is iruma's blood grandfather and he gave iruma to his parents to avoid him staying in the demon world cause its 2 dangerous for him only to take him back cause the parents treat him awfully.
There is another theory where the pervious demon king is somehow related to iruma and thats y he acts like the demon king alot while having all the quality and prophecies about him being true.

I'm really surprised Iruma didn't end up as a vengeful person considering his parents being complete assholes. I'm glad Iruma is really kind, it makes the show ironic since his friends are "demons" and demons are usually portrayed as bad and destructive creatures. He's basically an angel in an all demons' school lol.

Sure I get that they're spooky looking (though that really only applies to the highest ranking ones, lower ranking angels looked normal...er) but they are benevolent, and while they could kill you if you see their true faces, they are kind enough to try and prevent that. Plus, heaven's full of em, and it's considered the opposite of a fate worse than death.
Unless you meant the school part, in which case, yeah, no amount of benevolent eldritch horror could make a school less agonizing.

Evil cycle or not, Iruma is originally greedy since he wasn't able to have what he wanted in the human world but in the demon world, he has everything and he wants it to stay that way. So basically, he has this demon inside himself too XD (In the start of the manga, he was mad at his parents for solding him off to a demon and he once held a grudge for like, 10 seconds lol.)
Sullivan said Iruma's his FIRST grandson, which makes me think about all the other children he's gonna buy from a bunch of different worlds.

Despite the circumstances that led to iruma being sold to Sulivan being portrayed as comedic and played for laughs, the only people Iruma absolutely, totally, completely, unmistakably realizes he's ever hated are his own parents.
And in a world of demons where attempted murder and worse are being directed towards him and dangerous situations harming people he loves happen on a semi-regular basis and he only ends up feeling DISAPPOINTED, that's saying a LOT about how utterly evil his parents really are.

This anime REALLY needs more attention, it's easily One of the most unique idea: instead of a demon coming to the human world, One human comes to a world full of demons.
5:18 How did you get this wrong? Sabnock doesn’t want to become demon king because of any tragic backstory, he wants to become demon king because it’s the coolest thing a demon can become. He says this directly after that gag backstory.
For such a dark premise, this was actually a really heartwarming anime. It really struck a chord with me, even though I do have loving parents.
Honestly this is one of my favourite anime, strangely enough I never hear anyone mention it, looking forward to the next season tho

Imma be honest, this anime is stupid, just all in the best ways, totally worth the watch, a perfect comedic aspect along with cute moments between human/demon, the entire basis of the show is perfectly designed, such as the fact that the human parents seemed more demonic and evil than the actual demon who actually loved and cared for Iruma. 10/10

a part that really hit me was when kiriwo asked why he wasn't in despair, iruma just answered that being in despair doesn't fill your stomach.
and that line alone just showed me that his backstory wasn't going to be a gag, it was something that was real. and this showed me that he had no intentions of returning to the human world with his parents.

That would be quite strong in any situation, even if you are the one attacking. If they can’t hit you to defend themselves, then your job is much easier. It’s also good for distractions or causing self sabotage, dodging attacks and letting it hit important stuff to the enemy.

I was always floored by the comical way they depicted Irumas depressing as heck life - his parents are awful and I really really hope at some point in the future there is some sort of personal karma inflicted upon them - it would just be cathartic. How dare they do that to this cinnamon roll.

This is my favorite currently running shounen. It doesn't have enough impact for me to call it a true all-time masterpiece, but it's a clear 9 out of 10.

It often requires the death of many of the people you care for, your own body, your thoughts, and is always going to end with your death or eternal suffering, though that’s good for this guys parents. 😈 . How could any parents be so selfish and sell their child? I been watching the show and I really like it so far. I really like the characters also I love how Iruma is overall. He is also pretty lucky he had such a hard life. He parents didn’t care, he barely ate anything,and his friends didn’t even know his name. Then he has someone who loves him, more than enough food to eat, and friends that always want to be with him. I don’t want to sound ungrateful about my life but if I had that happened to me I wouldn’t want to come back home. I love my parents and life so I probably wouldn’t agree in the first place but if I did I would love to visit home.

Really? That’s their question? Not why he has no demonic features? Or why he has never been heard of before? Maybe he, I don’t know, adopted him, and due to the most likely thousands of years of difference in age, prefers calling this much, much younger boy his grandson.
@@grynrmes2927 it’s imports because they made a deal that their grandsons would be the ones going for the demon king position and Sullivan gets a grandchild out of no ware when he could of done soon as the deal was agreed upon

@@grynrmes2927 Also, not having horns or a tail is not enough to out someone as not demon, that's stated many times in the manga because demons can change the appearance of their features (such as shape and colour).
This anime kinda sounds somewhat similar to My Hero Academia. both protags enter a school to learn and become number 1 (MHA being the #1 Hero while this one aims to be the next Demon King,) both enter a class that end up getting so much popularity amongst the other classes (MHA being Class-1A and this one being the Misfit class) as well a the main protagonist also receiving popularity and having to hold a secret from the other students and teachers (MHA being Izuku's One for All Quirk and Iruma hiding the fact that he's a human.
And also iruma's face is also very familiar to izuku's face
