      Aryan in sanskrit just means of noble birth or lineage. It was used as a honorific to address Kings/Queens/Princess etc ( Arya Putra / Arya Putri ). In English the equivalent would be "my Lord/ my Lady" etc. It is some 19th century English and German linguists and scholars in fields like history and anthropology who used it to mean a racial classification.

    It's interesting that you're suggesting Indians are striving for white adjacency, when it's actually East Asian Americans who are more often known for assimilating to white culture, including anglicizing their names and choosing white partners over their own ethnic group.

      East Asians adopt religion more often than Indians, Indians do not often convert to Christianity because they are initiated into their culture and religion from childhood, and many Chinese, Koreans and Japanese do not profess any religion, Asian women especially easily accept Christianity.

    • @benwu4865
      @benwu4865 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      well, about the anglicizing name, you know that Chinese Characters and the rest of the world are two completely different writing systems right? Alphabets cannot in any shape or form, convey the meaning of Chinese characters, when you romanize a Chinese character, all meanings are lost, all of it. So unless the rest of the world learn Chinese character, I think it makes sense to create a new name with some sort of meaning instead of romanizing Chinese characters and have people who can't pronounce the correct tone of Chinese character turn a so called non-anglicized name into some sort of failed plastic surgery. And the same is true the other way around, the rest of the world create Chinese names, are they all trying to assimilate into Chinese culture? Kamela is named 贺锦丽, an Indian minister is named 苏杰生, they aren't trying to be Chinese a bit. This phenomenon has to do with the fact that Chinese character and the REST of the world, uses different, completely different writing systems and Chinese being a tonal language. When a logogram's soudn is converted to Alphbet without the tone, then all meaning is lost. It has nothing to do with trying to be white for most people.

      This is false for east Asians, though whites do dream about it being true. There is a reason why the west is hell bent on making Chinese an enemy and that is because they discovered that the Chinese do not intend to be white or follow white ways. Though it may be different for Asians living in the west, you do get more anglo worshippers in the west. Proof is in the pudding, the rest is theoretically assertions based on tbe positions of white primacy and stereotype just like how you asserted east Asians want to be white and the other 64 likes are popular in belief but lacks much in conviction.

  • @ponuni

    Of course it's always been about class. Why do you think the suburbs exist? People don't move to the suburbs because they are looking to live next to white people, but rather they are looking for people who share the same values. People who value family, good schools, and they want to avoid crime. it's also the same reason that people are usually more liberal in their 20's, but become more conservative in their 30's. You're broke in your 20's so you don't really care if you vote for higher taxes because you're making 10 dollars an hour. But in your 30's you're making more money and you're the sucker who's paying for the taxes that you voted for in your 20's. On top of that you're paying the taxes with absolutely NOTHING to show for it, it all gets distributed to welfare programs for the poor.

    Stop spreading nonsense oversimplifications about Indian genetics... north Indians and south Indians have pretty much the same genetic components, which include dna of 3 ancient groups: native Indians (darkest), Iranian neolithic farmers, and the "Aryans" who are pastoralists from the Ukrainian steppes (and more such as middle eastern depending on specific group). The various levels of these 3 ancestries that make up any individual Indian person's genetics depends on a variety of factors, such as caste, region, etc. There are plenty of dark northern Indians (from Bihar, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, etc.) and plenty of light skinned southern Indians (especially from Karnataka, Kerala, etc.). In fact, a lot of south Indians tend to have more Iranian farmer DNA than most north Indians. Also most indians average at around 10 - 15 % "Aryan" DNA, only a few castes from the far far north like the Jats have like 30 %. Yet, most of them just look plain brown Indian.

The ancient Indians, like that Singh guy and Gandhi, they might have said they are white because of ancient history of the Aryans and maybe Caste System 2.0 (which is from European colonization). I'm not going to argue about history and who did what and who did right/wrong. In those centuries, in those decades those were some cultural arguments made that suited their time. It does not equal to modern times, just like the example of that Turkish/Mongolian soldier you brought up. For me personally and for my family we ABSOLUTELY DO NOT CONSIDER OURSELVES TO BE WHITE, Aryan theory or not. We do not care, we do not hate about this ARYAN theory. We vote conservative ONLY because of similar MORAL VALUES, we don't care about your history, our culture teaches us for focus on our life right now, how can we upgrade ourselves and protect ourselves, for our families and our future generations.
