This could be a really cheap alternative to going to a tattoo artist, though I recommend testing it on your kids first while their skin is still young and able to replace itself, before you use it on yourself.

Kids really are the best! Able to take so much and if the damage is a bit too much, can make another! With only a 9 month cooldown. Probably the best "renewable" resource out there!

I know it's a joke, but it would probably do the opposite and get rid of tattoo's 😆

    really useful tool :)
good safety goggles and extraction are essential, that thing can make some unreasonably toxic fumes depending on what you are cutting

I've work for 2 companies doing laser cutting but 1 customer asked us to etch their logo onto N8 finish(mirror finish) 304 stainless steel. unfortunately due to the machine being designed for cutting we can't engrave or etch as nicely as the purpose made machines. for those wonder our laser range from 6000 KW to 12000KW

Good you learned to not turn your back on the operating laser! We want all involved to live.

I was going to say that the lower power you run it the longer the life but I dont know if that is true for diode lasers... BUT there is a thing called a calibration matrix that you should use on different materials so you know the power + speed for engraving and cutting.
Basically its a gcode that you run through and you end up with a reference for each of the settings on whatever material you put in. So I have one out of 3mm acrylic, 5mm acrylic, 3mm plywood etc. You just keep it for next time you are going to do something on that material.

Cheers for the tip. that makes sense for the power. Actually I think I saw a calibration test in the software I started it but it was taking ages and I wasn't sure if it would be helpful. cheers

Dude.... I was soooo looking for one of these 2 weeks ago for the misso's christmas present! All the shit on AliExpress looked like....well shit. What's the lead time to get it? Reckon I'd get one by chrissy still? she loves crafting with her cricut things, figured laser would be next level.

I am not sure, maybe express post? They might be able to give you an estimation once you put your address in

Laser safety glasses are the wrong type for that wave length of laser. For Blue laser light they need to be the red/orange lens safety glasses.

Looks like a fun little laser, I have a big 60w laser cutter but this tiny one just seems more fun.
The small size also makes it easy to make an enclosure to help with smoke extraction and shield any eyes not wearing laser goggles.
For more advanced projects the GRBL version of Lightburn is quite cheap and has a ton of nice features.

Yeah I think i might need to. the problem with goggles is you can't see the computer moniter or do other stuff in the shed too.

Yeah they have too much gap at the bottom. Need full gogs I reckon.

Laser GRBL is ok but you should really get Lightburn, it has a lot more features and is easier to use.
