I did that three years ago. Never so happy to find solid dirt in my life. The ‘broken dinner plate’ comment was right on. Great job guys. Great video! Best beer I ever had was in Telluride after riding down Ophir!

I'm glad he's okay, but it never gets old watching water buffaloes, and their jockeys eat it on Ophir.😅

Another great installment guys. Man, those scree slopes across the 'road' look daunting. Respect. I'll watch if it's ok

Went down Ophir on my Africa Twin. That's as much adventure as I need. I was never so glad getting off a hill than that. Good video

I did Ophir a few weeks ago. Video doesn't capture the steepness and all the "baby head" rocks. It's tough on big bikes. Good video and well done! I'm glad everyone is okay. That fall looked rough. Have a safe journey.

FYI outward appearance is that Red Mountain Pass isn’t much but it’s a fun route to ride. We camped in Ouray and ended it up riding it multiple times. And there are spectacular views across the valley over the Million Dollar Highway. That top part of Ophir is amazing ass kicker. My son, a great rider, even about biffed it riding up that section on a KTM 690 R Enduro! With no bags!

Road that solo on my DR650 2 years ago going in the same direction. I was out for a day ride from Ouray, so I was not loaded down. Swore my way across the shelf road and then realized I had boiled my rear break. Killed the engine and coasted down using engining breaking.
Not doing that pass again until I get back into decent shape unless I am on a little dirt bike. Was 53 at the time.

Enjoyed your video - what bikes are all of you riding?

Actually, you guys were going in the easier direction over Ophir on those big bikes. Nice riding.

thank you...its funny....I've probably heard both...50/50....harder going up or its harder going down....that tells you in general it's just a very difficult and technical ride....I think we were just glad we didn't lose our guy....crazy day!!!..thanks for comment...

Crash at 5:00 is a good example of why it is better to stand up on tricky stuff.
