Quick update: the border funding has been completely removed from the bill, but it has passed the senate (2/11) and will head to the house next. So the bill is active but is no longer a border bill.

It shocking that they put funding all these different things in 1 instead of doing them separately so each can be agreed on it's own merrit

Borders are obviously an issue. In Australia we have struggled with this too but we are lucky to have no countries that directly border us so maybe the problem is a little bit different. Still a controversial topic though. BUT I say if you have a solution, all be it not a perfect solution but still a bipartisan and reasonably effective solution BUT an ex-president blocks it just to run on the issue then that ex-president is more of a problem than those crossing. Lets get real for a second. We all know that the majority of illegal crossings are not by rapists and murderers or by people from insane asylum's as the orange man would have you believe but from average people looking for a better life. The amount of crossings isn't the real problem, the real problem is the hatred and demonization of these people by someone that has never been anywhere near these people. Imagine a billionaire demonizing the most poor and destitute and those in the least position to defend themselves against the hate, just for votes. Trump supporters baffle me? How can you guys not see that you are just being sold hate. I don't like hate and I'm damn sure I don't want to pay for it, that's just dumb. APPARENTLY the border is such a big issue that dems need to be removed and maybe prosecuted for it by the very man that would let it continue for 12months or more just to make himself look good in an election. That makes zero sense if you care about your country, it makes perfect sense if you only care about yourself. Why does half of America still believe this obvious grifting skidmark with a very limited IQ is a "stable genius". Actions speak louder than words but even more importantly if you are a self promoter in Australia then you better be the second coming of Christ or you will be torn down from the elevated position YOU have claimed very very quickly. Australia and the rest of the world realise if you keep claiming you are the greatest it more than likely is bullshit. Quiet achievers make the world work, egotistical crybabies are the ones that hold it back. I'm just not sure America got the memo.

Thanx for the update. I hardly look at the news these days. It just can't be trusted to tell the truth.

Plenty of news sources tell the truth, but many also withhold certain truths (at least from the countless ones I've come across). I make sure to check multiple sources, with at least one from each opposing view/approach, to get the most clear picture of something.

All I'm gunna put is, the numbers don't make any sense whatsoever for certain things. I know Israel want to do their own thing. But the number that the begging Zelensky, and his own people are saying nope now. Basically things don't add up. Role on 2024, and hope ES&S software isn't involved in voting machines/ burning ballot boxes. Also the briefcase thing that everyone saw along with the other things.

It's interesting realizing that democracy has mostly been a sham all along. Some countries just have more convincing veneers than others.
