The race baiters love to say that it only affects black people only. The main difference is White people don't deal in public.

    • @TheBigFormerlyPurpleT
      @TheBigFormerlyPurpleT ปีที่แล้ว

      It was originally targeting hippies and Mexicans, as they used the relationship of demonizing it as they did with crack to black people, however it was originally attributed to black men in jazz clubs and on posters who they were blatantly accusing of using reefer to do deeds with white women. That was pretty racist. They also used the criminalization to pretend the rate of usage wasn't the same between Mexican, white, black, and hippies in general to get three of those groups arrested. Reefer madness was a term used when a boy of Mexican descent was used as a scapegoat for the stereotypes of marijuana. He had previously been diagnosed with a schizophrenic disorder, and had no history of use. That was pretty racist too. A century has not yet passed and these events were not forgotten. Race in this case is not being used against the minority. It's a tool for them. We need all the help we can get as a whole, and we can't exactly say "we're doin it for whites..." that does not sound good at all. On a individual level race doesn't matter, and if anyone tries to get an upper hand, or give a raw deal, they're trashlings. If it's being used for a community who wants equal right to do something, even if they are equally barred from doing it, the outcome will be equal.
      In other words, we all want it to work. And it's not like everyone except white people will be allowed to do it. That's just as racist

    • @damian2256

      Yes, because like the stigma. People want to categorize it and put it in with a certain group. I find it very very hypocritical to make something like marijuana illegal in the first place. In states such as Tennessee, where marijuana is illegal, has the one of the highest drunk driver ratios in the entire country. Yet in the last 10 years, TN has legalized moonshine at the same time they decline to legalize marijuana. Also TN highways are filled with rim destroying pot holes. Meanwhile go to Colorado where since legalization has less drunk drivers on the road and less accidents... hmm 🤔
      Also I might add that the taxes paid fr recreational marijuana in CO has literally PAID for fixing its highways.

      As the other dude said it’s only for interstate commerce as well as shit like ur right to own a firearm. Yes they will be taxing and regulating weed but imo it’s worth it because if they don’t then weed users will continue to not get the privilege of the second amendment “right”. People will continue to go to prison and become felons all because they want to both buy a gun legally, and buy weed legally. U literally can’t legally have that as protection if u smoke weed. We are legally bound to be inferior in a situation where someone has a gun.

    Even when it becomes legal in a state, the old jobs that don't allow cannabis still allow alcohol. Use common sense to see how this can be an issue. For emergency services like EMTs, fire fighters and police officers, they get PTSD frequently as apart of their job. Alcohol is the only way to legally be intoxicated off duty. Same for military, the effects of alcohol are tipsy, mood disorders, loss of rational thought, reasoning, balance. Leads to domestic violence, hazing, alcohol poisoning, addiction, drunk driving, child abuse. Alcohol is an epidemic. While cannabis at most can possibly make somebody lose focus or another mild common symptom.
    With more positive effects than negative. Cannabis became illegal illegitimately through racism, corporate raw material favoritism, corruption and pure ignorance. The congress that outlawed it was presented a bill for outlawing Marijuana but didn't know it was actually hemp that was being outlawed under a different name. Then after World War 2, when world wide drug use soared due to the trauma of loss and destruction, the poverty that followed. With cannabis illegal everyone turned primarily to prescription drugs, alcohol and especially street drugs increasingly into the 70s.
    This is why we are facing so many societal issues on all levels, that cannabis could alleviate, prevent or put something new in place. For example, a woman in New York City goes for a jog in the park at 5 AM and doesn't come out because of a predator. With cannabis illegal and weapons illegal in New York both with and without cannabis. That means the only person going to be in the park possibly smoking cannabis and armed is the criminal. But if you legalize cannabis, you can have people like me who walk around at night smoking, doing extra patrolling and using the innocent as bait. A safer society.
