When you think Porsche the term "budget" does not exactly immediately sprint to mind. But this Porsche 944, home-built by its owner/driver and a couple of good mates proves that you can build, race and maintain a competitive circuit racer without breaking the bank. . Think this car is cool - check out this absolutely bonkers 968 time attack racer from Sweden: Revline Porsche 968: th-cam.com/video/5_twsGffz1c/w-d-xo.html
Fun to hear the story, 944s and especially turbos and s2s were very popular race cars a couple of years ago over here. There's still several around going really fast :)
I absolutely like the 924 GT like front spoiler with the lip. I would immediately buy one of these if possible, cause I am working right now on 1987 2.5 n/a Celebration Edition
for a built 3.0L with a gtx3582R those numbers are way off , it's down on power a lot and the torque is optimistic to say the least ,impossible to make 900Nm with that setup. Awesome car tho , don't get me wrong , i love everything about it . Just saying someone got the stats way wong .
@@JH-jo9wt The car is currently at Tunnel Vision Turbocharging. It is running E85 and last dyno run it had 313rwkw. I was experiencing some fuel starvation so have upgraded the fuel lines and pumps to alleviate the issue. So just waiting to see what happens. Any day now.

I have to admit, that is one cool 944!
These cars are quite underrated and has a lot of tuning potential for street and/or motorsport use.^^
Seems like a really great passionate guy. Well done Paul. Love these videos Haltech, keep them coming!
The torque figure seems way off but then again I know very little about engines. love the 944!
So relieved the off-roading wasn't bad...love the whole business ...very nice to see..

That torque figure is amazing.
Well done Paul Glade you guys got it sorted at wtac you’re friendly pit buddy Ray ✌🏻 p.s a k swap would be epic in that

Yay 944
Great vid though
350hp with 900nm? is it diesel?😂
Mmmm yea
Beautiful cars y love it is time the porsche is tuning no
i felt that early 944 parts not fitting on late 944 parts in my soul. i bought a early trans for my late model car. not my brightest moment
968 turbo?. you may have a 944 turbo 2.5 bored to 3l. the 968 turbos were uber rare like 14 made and that motor is not that. maybe im wrong
3L block is out of a 968 and running an 8v head.

Dyno sheets have been provided when tuned and can confirm driving the car it has plenty of torque to pull it out of the corners.
@@paulkova9449 Dude, i don't want to offend anyone but the numbers are plain silly, it's not a diesel.
@@paulkova9449 Who tuned the car Paul? And it is running on e85? cheers

Awesome, let us know the final hp/tq figures - cheers and congrats
Si on touche les trein roulant pas no speak english sorie
There is no such thing as a budget Porsche. LOL. Get real guys.
That’s not a 968 head in my opinion.
It's a 968 block with an 8v head on top. Not dissimilar to the motor that wound up in the factory 968 turbos.
