    The beatboxer and his brother started Home Free in 2001, right after high school. The others joined Home Free at various times. 4 of the 5 were members when they won the Sing Off in 2013, and the other joined in 2016 when one of the founding members left to pursue other things.

      Home Free started in with the Rupp brothers (Adam - the BeatBoxer - also a great singer and an even better musician and Chris) and two other members of the Church youth group at Hosanna in Mankato, MN. By the time they took the name "Home Free" Matt Lundquist had joined the group and one of the originals dropped out. Tim Fouts (the bass) and the lead singer joined shortly before they entered the Sing-Off. Chance came in when Chris Rupp left (he is still loosely associated).

    Just saw them perform this LIVE (using a looping station) Sunday at the Indiana State Fair. It was even more jaw dropping live. It was my first time seeing them live and it was a blast! As they said, it's not a concert, it's a party!

    When the US shut down for quarantine the group was touring in Europe. The got word around 3 a.m. and had to race the clock to get home. For well over a year they were stuck in their separate homes in 3 states. Their producer set them up with computers/studio for them to record their parts of their videos and the producer, Darren would arrange the footage and release another great video every other Friday. Check out Quarantine, Down to the Honkytonk, Sunday Best, Flowers on the Wall and Meet in the Middle. You will see their kids and wives/girlfriends here and there.

    I absolutely love their Butts medley/remix. The fusion, variety and transitions are special...plus you'll laugh the whole song
    As far as Adam Rupp, he has a "drum solo" in concert if you want to assess his beat boxing skills.
    He goes absolutely nuts with his no monica in their cover of garth brooks Ain't goin down (only on Facebook)

  • @Indigo_moon
    @Indigo_moon ปีที่แล้ว +26

    You need to have them listen to their cover of "End of the Road" now. So they can that they can do something totally different, and do it well. They all do a little beatboxing & mimicking of instruments. Adam, the beatboxer, is the founding member of the group along with his brother Chris who is no longer with the group. I do wish you would take it back a step after you pause the video so you don't miss anything or mess up the flow. All you have to do is hit the back arrow once before playing. Thanks for another video!

    Adam Rupp is famous for his no Monica, drums. Austin Brown, high tenor also does the no monica during their concerts. They all beat box, Adam CHANCE was doing the mouth/jaw harp. Rob Lundquist the other tenor is awesome and that bassman Tim Foust has a 5 plus voice range.

    The Adam and Chris Rupp brothers started the group in 2001 as just in college. Rob Tenor joined in 2008. Deep Bass, Tim, was there for the NBC Song Competition that they won which is when took label of County Acapello. Austin, the high Tenor was there fort competion about 2013? Adam Chance replaced Chris Rupp in 2015. Rob and Adam Rupp(BeatBoxer) are from Minnesota.. Adam Chance from Alabama; Tim from Texas, and Austin from Georgia. Their producers is in Minnesota. Tim and Austin live in Nashville area; Adam Rupp and Rob still in Minnesota; Adam Chance in LA. Rob has music degree as lyrical tenor for opera;Austin has music degree in musical theater, Adam Rupp music degree in musical performance- trumpet, but is also excellent tenor with range between Rob and Austin. Adam Chance's degree is in Creative writing. Tim was pre-dental, but dropped out to pursue music At least four of them significant experience working shows on cruise lines. Their musical training in other genre is what makes them so good.

    My opinion, the best 2 accapella groups out there are "HomeFree" and "VoicePlay". Very different from each other, but both amazing. Pentatonic is really really good, but Homefree and Voiceplay are on a much different level.

  • @DyvmSlorm
    @DyvmSlorm ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Nailed it. This wouldn't hit as well as it does without all the parts. Bass and percussion set the tone and the others fill in the full wall of sound. That goes for any form of music IMHO.

    Great that you are introducing them all to Home Free. It's also a great a cappella group with an incredible beatboxer/vocal percussionist/vocal artist, who really ranks number 1 with me. They sound amazing even live. By the way, they can all beatbox what can be seen in a live performance from 9 to 5.
    Just this: Chance (behind left) makes the Jaw harp sound here.
    Austin (front in the middle) who can also "play" nomonica

  • @teresacartwright5406
    @teresacartwright5406 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The original song was written in 1913 and later covered by Bob Dylan and Joan Baez among others. They all sing lead in various songs. The lead on this (Austin) is from Georgia; the bass (Tim) is from Texas; the man in the black waistcoat (Chance) is from Alabama. The man with glasses (Rob) & the beatboxer (Adam) are both from Minnesota. 3 of them (Austin, Tim & Chance) are song writers. They tour 150-200 shows a year so there are lots of live videos.

    That strange sound is a jaw harp done by the guy in the back row with the hat on (Chance). Tim is the bass, lead tenor the guy with the glasses is Rob, the lead in this song is Austin he is high tenor, Chance is baritone/bass and beat boxer Adam Rupp. These 5 guys have been together since 2016. But Adam Rupp and his brother Chris started the group in 2000 in college.

    The group was started in 2000 by Adam Rupp (beatboxer) and his brother Chris (usually in trucker cap or cowboy hat; left in 2016) plus several others who didn't stay long. They won season 4 of The Sing-Off in 2013. Adam Chance (aka Chance) took Chris's place. They got labeled as a country group for the show but do all kinds of music, just search their name on youtube. Austin Brown (front and center here) has musical theater training so he can lose his Georgia twang when he wants to. Rib Lundquist (glasses) has opera training and he and Austin did a video where they "try" to sing opera. I recommend their video for Dolly Parton's 9 to 5, which is a good lead in to 9 to 9 + Beatboxing Breakdown, where all five of them get a chance at beatboxing. (Actually all 6 of them: there are two versions, one with Chris Rupp and one with Adam Chance) I think you'll also get a kick out of their Butts Medley. And this is one you have to keep watching after the singing itself is over. You'd miss a lot if you don't.

    The tenor in overalls, Rob can do so many things...he raps in Butts Medley, beatboxing in 9 to 5 Breakdown, and opera in Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera... fantastic. Chance left rear did the mouth harp...it shows him at the end on the porch. They are all so talented. Adam Rupp (beatboxer) started the group in 2000 with his brother Chris. They toured doing 250-270 shows a year, and several changes of members. Rob joined in 2008, I think, and Tim in 2011 and they were guest performers on a cruise where Austin was playing and he soon joined them. Adam "Chance" joined in 2016 after they won the Sing Off in 2014. They're all super talented.
