I have many fond memories of my father swearing profusely when we were building my first desktop because it's 1995 and manufacturers give absolutely zero f***s if their drivers play nice with other manufacturer's parts. Oh the memories.
Kinda funny how those are the same games I played when I was a kid. I still have my Roblox account from 2010 that I made when I was only 10 years old, but I haven't played it in years. I also have my Minecraft account from 2010-2011 and I still play it sometimes. Back then I used an Atom N270 netbook and old Pentium 4 and Athlon XP systems to play the games
So much fun. Just did this with my youngest son (6). He was spoiled a bit though with R5 5800x, rx6800xt, trident z neo 16gb, seasonic 850 platinum, same case though... It's an awesome case with great airflow. Seagate 500 gb ssd, and 4tb hdd. Took an entire year to get all the parts... But we had such a blast building it together. Something I will never forget. Now we have a blast playing together. Great video... So much fun to watch!
The price on that 1650 made me faint a little. I got my brother a 1650 Nov of last year for about $115. If I had only known… I would have upgraded myself at the same time.
It didn't make sense that the cpu would be bad just because you bent a couple of pins as long as you straightened them. I once bent some pins and had them break completely off and so i took some pins off an old cpu and put them in the holes where the broke pins were and installed the cpu and it worked just fine

You are an amazing father. When I was 8 years old, I was using a Macintosh 630 performa CD. It wasn't until I was 10 I built my first PC; a Pentium pro cpu with no gpu.
I recently built a new PC with my son, great experience, he had never built one before, he really enjoyed it, funny thing though he was 21 at the time, your son was amazing :) !
Just built my Daughter her first Gaming PC... She also went with and Openbox Mother board from newegg and we had to order another cause the one she ordered was borked! Lesson learned never buy Openbox motherboards. lol
I love this. I built a computer for my kid at 4 years old. He could not use it much but now that he is 6 he plays minecraft and beam ng. When i upgrade to the next one he will get my guts. I wish he was into building them but i figure he may as he gets older.

Came across the same issue it was my case causing the issue I would have never guessed it. Before updating the bios make sure you install all windows updates and latest and chipset drivers on the AMD website and on the respective motherboard website!!
My dad don't know how computer's works, but he did always asked to help him fix or tweak our car. Didn't learn a thing, but that's probably because I was playing gameboy while blindly handing him a ratchet when he's asking for a wrench. Oh the moments he would stand and get it himself, look at me and gives a heavy sigh. hahaha fun memories! he love my moral support!
What great lesson to teach your son life will always put obstacles in our way but we gotta just get thrpugh them its awesome that your teaching him rn that hes young
Running a MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi. Updating the BIOS resulted to severe instability. Had to rollback to version 1.0. MSI's BIOS guys really need to improve their game.
i bent pins on my first cpu aswell i spent 3 days making the pins perfectly straight again i didnt know you could get them pretty close and be done hahaha pc fun

There are three things I never skimp on 1. Motherboard, 2. power supply 3. the case. The case because I usually keep rebuilding in them, power supply because everything electronic depends on it and the motherboard because everything electronic is connected to it. Almost every problem I have had with a new build has been with the power supply or the motherboard or cable management in a case.
@UFD Tech yeah the b450 are notorious for being crap boards thats why all the variants came out so fast, i got my grandson a asus prime b450m a-ii because of that issue

man sometimes those usb 3 header cables hold on for there life when you go to remove them who ever designed that connector made quite sure its not going to come loose
You lucky kiddo. I built my first PC when I was 14 with an old Sandybridge office PC that I got for free from a school that was going to get rid of it. The rest came out of my wallet. It surely was incredibly jank and needed lots of mods but I had the fun of a lifetime.
I make Roblox games and i suggest you to have more wattage on your PSU(I have 750 watts even though I use a GTX 1050 ti), use at least a Ryzen 5 (I use 5600X) and have 32GBs of RAM. If you want to record videos also like I do, you might as well get more storage space as my Adobe After Effects, which is my editing software, takes up ~200GBs of space for a 17min video. Also, TH-cam only allows files to be maximum 256GBs.
Awesome to see a tech TH-camr building with their child, but also using appropriate hardware for the games they play! Nothing worse than seeing an RTX 2080Ti, 3080/Ti or 3090 go to waste on a PC that primarily plays Minecraft, Fortnite and Roblox 😅 How old is your son if you don’t mind me asking? I have 2 little lads the oldest being 5 and he’s asking for a desktop like his dad, but my concern is he’s a little too young to benefit from a desktop and perhaps a console would be more in line
I think he mentioned 8 years old. Yeah agreed, having a 3090 for Minecraft really leaves you wondering what the purpose is beyond fishing for views (which is a solid purpose i suppose)

Nice to see the 3300x back in stock. I grabbed the last one on Walmart after their OP builds stopped production.
I use a plastic vinyl razor. It works perfectly for straightening pins. Just go down each row with it.

Theres a thing called fps unlocker you can use for Roblox.
Basically it uncaps the frames and makes the overall gameplay smoother.
It's the A80 models and gen 4 models of silicon power ssds that use dram the blue ones use HMB.

Use a razor blade to straighten out the pins one row direction at a time. Makes it super easy

My troubleshooting expeirebce says that the extensions could be bad. Try running without those in the middle

I have had a similar issue where it did crash but the Windows installer was broken and not the computer

i had constant crashing on my 5600x until i under volted it then it stopped crashing and works perfectly now
