Good interview. Regarding Periyar, there is a correction required in his understanding. Periyar primarily fought for human dignity, equality, self respect with his rational thinking. He wouldn't have become atheist if hindu religion promotes equality in birth, human dignity, equality in women. He was a social worker than atheist..

But listen to Carnatic music only because I like the sound of it, the instrumental accomplishment of it and it touches my soul. After all, I was born and brought up in the Western world, therefore, Carnatic music is not my first choice, in fact, it was an accidental event that I heard my first Carnatic consent. I respect you as an honest human being because you speak the truth. Such that you will have more critic than supporters, keep up the good work and sing more Carnatic music.

pl stop this cheap thinking to gain publicity ; changes can be made by uniting people & not by dividing people ; Music, dance or any Art for that matter can unite people & they r way beyond caste, creed , religion or Nationality ; infact , the best example for that is our Music season every year at Music Academy in chennai ; people from every corner of the globe look forward to attend that ; they don't care whether the Artist is a Brahmin or non brahmin ; what they want is music , dance & other art forms & they appreciate our lndian culture & tradition 👍
if somebody like this great TN Krishna wants to bring change in music, let them do it in their own concerts - they can give free tickets for non brahmins in all their concerts ; they can go to every village & take free classes for poor people ; they can start music school only for non brahmins , etc, etc ; who's stopping them ????

Carnatic music is not anyone's property, He is speaking out because he was immersed in the system and see the injustice. Instead of sweeping under the carpet, he decided to do something about it. You are worried that you spent your Australian dollars to listen to him singing. Did he asked you or forced you to come "listen to my singing"? Have you not enjoyed his program?
