Oh wow Mike CONGRATULATIONS and bubbles of hugs to you for you Celebration of 25 000 Subscribes, I am quite proud of your support for Bernie Sanders and I wish you again everything of the very best today, tomorrow and beyond-! (you have to be somewhat happy Washington won by Bernie Sanders-/doesn't it seem to be a sign that we all know Bernie Sanderswill be next president but should help set things in stone for Bernie Sanders to win California and New York-? Isn't Cenk same in person as he is in videos-? Tim Black is awesome with his way of speaking, it's so dramatic but in the best way-! be healthy and happy Mike-!
Congrats Mike! You've been a great source of objectivity (Sanders aside!) and information since the very beginning. I'm glad you're getting the recognition you deserve.
Hey! I used to bag your groceries at Fred Meyer! Stumbled across your channel, love the content and honest political commentary. Glad to hear you and your boyfriend are still together and happy as ever. Wish you all the best, and possibly see you around town! :)
I totally understand the dilemma with meat. I feel bad about eating it when I'm not eating it. Also, fellow Portlander right here!!!I saw Bernie the first time he came and almost went this morning but I had a headache.l
Very happy for you and your continuing success. You and I have many similarities, such as multiple siblings, 16 nieces and nephews, and my views are in sync with yours. I, myself, am a lifelong atheist and out and proud gay man. Being your parents are conservative evangelical christians, how do they feel about your TH-cam channel? Also, what are the attitudes and beliefs held by your brothers and sisters? I ask because I personally find it interesting that someone open minded, such as yourself, would come from, in my view, a very stifling and negative background. Thank you.
+Louis Riehm My entire family kind of flipped and is not really evangelical. I only have two siblings that are really religious, so everyone mostly turned liberal. I'd like to think I helped with that. No one in my family watches my channel, so I'm not sure what they think of it.
+john carlisle i would like Jill Stein as well, but i know how much work its been campaigning, and starting all over with a limited window, and fewer resources... It would take an endorsement by Sanders and Warren
Wow. I don't know if you know it yet, but you're definitely going to blow up. Your podcast is GREAT political analysis and we're not going to stop watching just because the election is over. And your base is only going to grow - definitely. I guess it's better to stay humble doe. Sorry for the multiple comments, but I want to comment my thoughts as I go. #sorrynotsorry
would you do a piece that teaches us the basics on how to run for office? Like how to get on the ballots, how to fund raise, anything else we need to know so we can run independently and WIN. I want to give voters another option.
I don't have experience here, but my good friend Alex Law, who is running for Congress, discussed this a bit in my interview with him. Look for that on Monday.
+The Humanist Report You should do a video and let the people know more about Recalling Elected Officials. There are numerous states that have a recall provision we could use that to vote out Republican Senators. When I was little I remember that's how they voted out Governor Gray Davis it's possible to do it on a state level also
You should totally expand and now would be the time to do it in this current political climate. You could create a network of independent shows with a few different perspectives but still leaning towards sanity lol you could even do a weekly show together in so many ways that could elevate the ability to actually get together you definitely need to get someone willing to help with tech though but given what you achieved on your own you wouldn't need that much lol :) You could also get people on the ground, like when you said about shyness interfering with going to a rally im the same but im sure there are many extroverts willing to do the job just to be connected with the humanist report, you could effectively turn your subscribers onto field reports or even footage and info gathering. I would love to make a show, but im too shy to even do that. You have so many followers on youtube with channels that could help navigate the areas you have trouble with all you need to is ask.
+The Humanist Report Stupid question(yes it has to be announced!): Are there good job opportunities for politics major? I might be wrong, but in my mind it seems to be a difficult branch to get a decent job afterwards. Either way it probably is a better major than Arts or physics(which itself is not a job education - and I always laugh at friends and acquaintance when they finally realize that). And what afterwards? Go into local politics or try to make this your full time job and become a pundit? Also check out rappers: Necro (good song to start of with is "Who's ya daddy") - he has relatively explicit& funny lyrics Prozak ("Just like nothing" or "Farewell" are a good start) - generally nice beats and thoughtful lyrics
+Nonofya Bidnez It's tough, but I'd say it's pretty difficult for Polysci majors to find jobs, unfortunately. It's part of the reason why I went back to school after getting my undergrad. Also, thanks for recommending those rappers!
The Humanist Report no problem mate. you'll figure it out. i like your show. i wish more people would watch it. if they did, Bernie would sweep every state.
Do you think Bernie supporters could do a better job when it comes to minority outreach. Such as making sure Black voters aren't harassed at polls and outreaching into low income communities?
If Bernie fails to garner the nomination do you think he should encourage his genuinely progressive supporters (us) to support Hillary even though she doesn't represent our interests?
Hey Mike you should reach out to John from Bernie2016tv and Political RevolutionTV. I think he is also from Oregon and I think you guys could both do some good together.
+The Humanist Report awesome! I went to the Evergreen State College (I'm from Seattle), but you remind me a lot of many of the friends I made there so I was wondering if you happened to attended school there at any point. It's a very liberal and progressive educational community and I could even see you teaching a class there one day if you are interested in teaching as you have mentioned! :) Love that you're a fellow PNWesterner, we're very lucky out here! Thank you for your hard work and truth-sharing, I really appreciate it!!
Don't know if this has been asked yet, but what are your thoughts on a new, actual progressive party getting formed among the unethical actions by the DNC against the Berniecrats?
11:45 You say in the northwest we support Bernie. As someone from Salem I can say I know 0 people that will be voting for Bernie. Other than myself. I have seen A sign....but I've seen 4-5 Hillary signs.
+If He's a man and she's a man, I want to be Lamp. Really? Hmm, I'm in a Portland bubble, and I know nothing but Bernie supporters everywhere. Haven't seen a single Hillary sign.
+The Humanist Report I grew up in a heavy republican croud and still do. they are here and there are many. I have been trying to ask why they support trump, but you cannot argue with evidenceless ideology.
When you spoke about your music tastes, I started to hate you. Then you talked about feminism, so now you are good. Nice to know you are not a 3rd-waver.
Dear Mike, I appreciate your honesty, but why are you subsidizing the meat industry, increasing the demand with each animal you eat? Just like voting, each vote counts. Don't wait until the world bans meat. Join the millions who are adding their voice to the cause for animal rights.
+katherine busby I'm with you, but it's not that easy. I plan to move towards vegetarianism someday-or at least limit my meat consumption habits-but it's not happening now.
+katherine busby Oh man, the thought of giving up cheese is unfathomable. I'll start with baby steps, and quit eating pork first before doing anything.
I thought that person in the picture was you because it was what showed up when I simply googled your name and since the guy in the picture looked a bit like a twink version of you I thought it could really be you.
Jacobin is a socialist magazine, and I don't think you can have a mix of socialism and capitalism. You can have government services and and a welfare state and what not, but that's not really socialism.
Dude. Of course it makes a huge difference if you stop eating meat. Your actions impact the actions of other people. I stopped eating animal products 6 months ago and so can you now. Stop being a hippocrite. Stop the cognitive dissonance, every vegan will gladly help you. Every bite of meat is like voting trump for the ecosystems (reflect about it the next time you want to eat meat or anything with powdered egg or milk)
+Ben Holland It's not that easy, buddy. Not only does it require an extraordinary amount of time, research, and effort to learn how to cook as a vegan/vegetarian, but it's much more expensive than eating meat. Also, I'm a picky eater. It's something I'll work towards in the future, but I acknowledge that it's problematic.
I go with Falaffel 3-4 times of the week. Baked Beans, Cig Köftem, Bulgur, Rice, Pasta, Sweet Potatoes, Nuts, Olives, Pickles - oh, an buy a good Mixer (flax seeds, fruits, water, soy/rice/almond milk... endless combinations). Try it for a week, you dont need a plan just 2 hints: dont surround yourself with meat-eaters during the week and break with habits. Focus on what you CAN eat rather than being sad about what contains animal cruelty.
Congrats! you have become a go to news stop for me. Rock on, my savvy friend!!!
Thanks, pal!
Very nice show, and congrats!
Thanks!

Thanks, buddy. You're very kind!
thanks again for a great channel!
Thanks for watching, man!
Dude, you'd be a great teacher! So happy you went through with the decision to do Humanist Report podcast! You're a badass. Keep it up.
So glad to hear this. Thank you, Gen!
Another video that was a pleasure to watch.
You come across as very honest, authentic, and logical. A killer combo. Keep it up!
Thanks so much for the kind words!
Congratulations, stay progressive. Peace.
Awesome job on your channel.
Thanks so much!

Nice! Fred Meyer peeps are all so nice. Be sure to say hi if you see us around!
Congrats, Mike. You deserve it.
+Synergy Nation Thanks!
Congrats of the milestone. Really enjoy your channel. Keep it up! :)
Thanks, Joel!
Thanks for responding to my question! Much appreciated!
Around 38 minutes in.
+Joshua Marsella No problem!

Hey man, congratulations and thank you for the great videos! Greetings from Bulgaria :)

The Write Him In Program is brilliant, because it would force electoral reform, but this could only happen if it's large enough.
+john carlisle i would like Jill Stein as well, but i know how much work its been campaigning, and starting all over with a limited window, and fewer resources... It would take an endorsement by Sanders and Warren

Your comment just made me day,
Q: Are you considering having a co-host if and when your life gets busier.
YES! I would love that idea very much.
Mike please put up a comment board!
Sorry I couldn't figure this out. :/

Crap I missed the live show
Geto Boys are from Houston I believe, but definitely Texas
+Tony Stockell Ah, okay. Thanks for sharing. I wasn't sure.
love your show bro, keep it up
+Tony Stockell Thanks, man!
Bets way to conquer a phobia is by facing it .
since you like edm with some nice vocals have you tried listening to the future house genre?
Do you think the centrism of the two party system can be explained by the nash equilibrium?
+xiAGC123 That, and also Duverger's law.
How did you meet your boyfriend?
We became friends through a mutual friend we both knew and started dating after that.
+The Humanist Report Stupid question(yes it has to be announced!):

Prozak ("Just like nothing" or "Farewell" are a good start) - generally nice beats and thoughtful lyrics
+Nonofya Bidnez the best opportunities would be with bernie sanders or another berniecrat runing for office
Robert Jordan Oh come on. Everybody wants that gig!
+Nonofya Bidnez It's tough, but I'd say it's pretty difficult for Polysci majors to find jobs, unfortunately. It's part of the reason why I went back to school after getting my undergrad. Also, thanks for recommending those rappers!
+The Humanist Report Am i just blind, or does the link to your political compass result not exist? ;o)
+Nonofya Bidnez No I forgot lol. I'll just post it on twitter at some point so people can see it.
Do you think Bernie will take all 3 states on Saturday?
I'm not sure, but I'm feeling good about it. :) *crosses fingers*
it worked with MR & TYT today.
I must have done something to disable it. I'll be sure to have a chat panel next time.
I think minority outreach should be the campaign's biggest priority.
where can i ask questions?
I believe I read your question on here.
MAN YOU LOOK SO MUCH YOUNGER
Really? That's good I guess.
who are the berniecrats in CA? thanks!
+Fu Shi Check out sandersdemocrats.org. You've got Steve Stokes, Preston Pickus, Lou Vince, and Jared Huffman.
have u travelled across the US?
Only along the west coast.
Would you ever fight a 7th grader?
Do I look like Katt Williams?
+The Humanist Report Kinda
If Bernie fails to garner the nomination do you think he should encourage his genuinely progressive supporters (us) to support Hillary even though she doesn't represent our interests?
That's my tough one. I honestly don't know.
so pretty soon it'll be Dr. Mike?
+Sully Sullivan Let's hope!
my friend always brings up that bernie is at a disadvantage with muslim countries from the start for being jewish, you think thats true?
No way. They'd appreciate his foreign policy.
Why do you call your show the Humanist report and are you involved with Humanist organizations?
My policies are driven by humanism. Not part of any orgs.
Hey Mike you should reach out to John from Bernie2016tv and Political RevolutionTV. I think he is also from Oregon and I think you guys could both do some good together.
John is great. They featured me on their program when I was a newbie.
Where have you done your education?
In Washington for part of my undergrad and Oregon for my grad degrees.
+The Humanist Report awesome! I went to the Evergreen State College (I'm from Seattle), but you remind me a lot of many of the friends I made there so I was wondering if you happened to attended school there at any point. Don't know if this has been asked yet, but what are your thoughts on a new, actual progressive party getting formed among the unethical actions by the DNC against the Berniecrats?
I covered this. In short, a new party would not likely emerge unless one of the others collapsed.
Have you ever read any socialist literature such as Marx, Luxemburg, Bernstein, Kropotkin, etc..?
Chomsky
I've read the communist manifesto, and recently read his critique of rights for a class I took.
Do you think Bernie's victory of presidency will accelerate having a first gay Hispanic president?
11:45 You say in the northwest we support Bernie. As someone from Salem I can say I know 0 people that will be voting for Bernie. Other than myself. I have seen A sign....but I've seen 4-5 Hillary signs.

+If He's a man and she's a man, I want to be Lamp. Haha exactly. I've tried to reason with them, but it's completely useless.
ok
Are you vegan/vegetarian?
No, but I would love to move towards vegetarianism to reduce my carbon footprint and not eat pork since pigs are so smart.
IM ETHAN BRADBERRY!
Made me laugh out loud. You smart. Papa bless.
The Humanist Report I'm having a fangirl moment right now. May Papa bless you with more sodie pops.

+The Humanist Report No, I was seriously confused by that picture. D: Thank you for still answering my question though.^^
what do you think a Trump Presidency would look like considering most of his Views are unconstitutional
The thought is scary.
Why not just use the comment section?
Good point haha!
Jacobin is a socialist magazine, and I don't think you can have a mix of socialism and capitalism.
You can have government services and and a welfare state and what not, but that's not really socialism.
What non-liberal views do you have?
I don't think I have any, honestly.
r u single because u sound like my type :)
