    Been waiting for these large G10 Aus10A verions to get back in stock, and they are now! They run from high $120's up to $150's. Mine is in the pipeline. Youre right, they should be called XL with the big Espada being a XXL. Great channel my man!

    • @Kris_Stiletto
      @Kris_Stiletto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the XL Talwar is my favorite all time Folding Fighter. They're light and fast in the hand. And, the are easy to SDEDC, due to their flatness and light weight; the Large Espada is more Heavy-Duty and weighs more and isn't as light and unnoticeable to carry. Also, I like the grip and balance better on the XL Talwar.
      Yes, they're hard to come by at a decent price, now days. This happens all the time when CS discontinues a folder that built up a following like the Talwars did... Mine, except for my original Large AUS-8A one, are Collectors, now.
      In their place, I carry the Large AUS-10A Espada, now, when I want to carry a Large CS Folder, now... Why? The new Espada, if something happens to it, is easily replaceable; the XL Talwar isn't... I love the Talwars, too; I still don't understand why CS discontinued them... Peace, Stiletto :)

      If you bought an OD Green Model with the DLC Blade Coating it must have either the expensive American CTS-XHP Powdered Super Stainless Steel or the expensive American S35VN Powdered Super Stainless Steel.
      Your blade should be labeled, if not, it's a counterfeit. The only Espadas that didn't have blade steel labeling on the blades were the old and original AUS-8A Espadas. All of the new models have the blades labeled with what type of steel they are.
      The Japanese, Stainless Steel, AUS-10A, version doesn't have the expensive American Powdered Super Stainless Steel. So, the cost is much lower. But, don't be fooled, for 99% of us knife users, AUS-10A is a better steel than most of us will ever need.
      AUS-10A is an awesome budget steel. It's said that it performs a lot like ATS-34, 154CM, and VG-10. So, it's a very good mid-grade stainless steel that's not super hard to re-sharpen. Perfect for an EDC folder, in my opinion. I hope this helps... Peace, Stiletto :)

  • @rootinteuton966
    @rootinteuton966 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I don't understand why they discontinued the Talwar series. I have one in CTS-XHP with the grey handle, but I wish I had bought a four inch model. I had a large Espada with the desert tan handle and DLC blade in CTS-XHP but I gave it to my son in law when my granddaughter was born.

    • @Kris_Stiletto
      @Kris_Stiletto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! CS listen! We "LOVE" the CS Talwar! Bring it back!
      It's my favorite Mega from CS. It's great for self-defense, true. But, it also makes a great Hunting and Fishing folder, too. And, the Talwar Handle is so comfortable and fits my hands perfectly. Also, the balance is perfect, too... Not every Folder needs to be a "Tank!"
      In my opinion, I like something that deploys fast and solidly and is also light and fast in the hand, to maneuver into different grips. The Talwar grip, gives me the confidence I need to have in a grip.
      Also, due to it's big flat ground blade, it slices through meat with ease. The Old Hold Out was good at that, too; it's another one they should bring back, in my opinion; the Frenzy (I love) isn't a Hold Out replacement, to me... Why? It's not good at processing meat or game, like the Hold Out Series is; it doesn't have the full flat ground blade... It has a heavy-duty "Combat-Ground" or "Saber-Ground" blade; it's thick behind the edge... So, it does not have the same cutting capability that the Hold Out has, for everyday chores.
      The Talwar and Hold Out, are both light and super easy to carry everyday; if you can find a good one I would super highly recommend these discontinued CS Folders. And, the 4 inch models have been in my SDUEDC Drawer ever since they were produced; I love them. They were great folding knife designs for SDUEDC. Peace, Stiletto :-)

I love the Talwar but you can no longer get them the recon tanto is my third favorite.

      My favorite pair to carry for SDUEDC is the Talwar Series, paired with one of the Hold Out Series; I know they aren't available anymore. The Talwar I like to carry in my front right pocket. And, the Hold Out I like to carry inside my leather motorcycle vest, as a backup to the Talwar. That's how I roll on my Scoot; when I feel I need to be ready for anything on long trips into unknown areas with my Brothers.
      Though, there are many CS Mega's that can fill that void. The Large Espada and Recon 1 can fill that void, too; they are just heavier and a little bulkier than my favorite pair. Also, if you're on a budget, the Voyagers "ROCK," too...
      But, normanly, I like to carry a 4" folder, with a smaller folder, that I can use in front of others, as an utility folder, without scaring anybody. I still like to carry Tri-Ad's for SDUEDC's over any others; I just trust them the most; I have never had one fail me...
      But, my work environment isn't threatening. So, I like to carry folders that have lock types that I trust. But, they don't need to be Tri-Ad's. For that, I am liking the Cross-Bar Lock Types, now; they are more fun to fidget with. So, I like one's from about 3.25" to about 3.5" for that, I have found. For many years, I carried the CS American Lawman, as my go to work folder. They don't freak out the Sheeple and are legal everywhere in my State. And, they can still be used for "Emergencies."
      Yes, I will make a video explaining why and what I carry for different occasions. Right on! Great idea! Peace, Stiletto :-)

    What would you recommend xl version of this or the lagre and how is your experience with Aus10A

    • @Kris_Stiletto
      @Kris_Stiletto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi,
      Are you going to EDC the XL? What's the purpose you're purchasing it for? If you're going to EDC a big Espada, myself, I like the AUS-10A Model. I've carried both, the XL and the Large and, also, the Medium Espada's.
      I often carry my Large AUS-10A Espada when I go on long Motorcycle trips or rides. Why? They give me a sense of extra security that I hope I'll never need... But, with that said, you need to get the one that best meets your needs.
      I found the XL to be too big and bulky for me to want to carry it all the time. But, the are super cool to collect or save for the "Zombie Apocalypse." :) The Large is very big, too. But, it's not unmanageable, to me.
      I like to carry my AUS-10A Large Espada because I feel it's the best Mega Fighter for the amount it cost. And, I like that it's not coated. The AUS-10A Steel "ROCKS!" It holds up real well; it's not like AUS-8A, that needed to be constantly re-sharpened.
      Myself, I have carried a lot of the 5.5" and 6" bladed Cold Steels, and others, over the years. So, I might be a little more accustomed to carrying XL and Large Folders. It's little folding knives that I am not accustomed to carrying. :)
      My all time favorite CS Mega is the XL Talwar. It's light and super fast in hand. There isn't any unnecessary heft to it. It's a great folding fighter, in my opinion; the grip and balance is awesome! Why did CS discontinue them, I don't know.
      I hope this helps,
      Peace, Stiletto :)

    • @AcidTripwire
      @AcidTripwire 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @manueldelgadillo
      @manueldelgadillo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the main reason I would love the old Espada blade shape with the current steel is for rust resistance. Aus8 is a great all around steel but it rusts really easily; especially with the bead blast finish like you mentioned. The only reason I can think of for the blade shape change, other than aesthetics, is for strength. A wider blade is stronger and more rigid.

I carry Espada's for SDUEDC when I go on long runs on my Scoot. So, function is number one with me. Peace, Stiletto :-)

    Stiletto would it be fair to say that the espada large is better for everyday carry than the espada XL

    • @Kris_Stiletto
      @Kris_Stiletto  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well... I would say, "YES!!!" :-) I have carried, both. And, I absolutely luv them, both. Though the only one I carry, sometimes, is my Large Espada... :-) But, there are many People in dangerous areas, that I have communicated with, that tell me, they SDUEDC them everyday. And, that's "BADASS!!!"
      But, for me, I like the Tri-Ad's with the 5.5" to 6" Blade Length, the best; if they were legal to carry everywhere, that would be my favorite size. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

      @@Kris_Stiletto great advice - I just ordered up the espada large - it will make a great addition to my cold steel super folder collection EDC rotation - I love them all ( 12 different knives I think ) most of them serrated - I always have to carry smaller knife because the super folders intimidate people - even when a knife is actually needed to help them out - people only feel ok around a butter knife :-) a problem we all experienced so we all carry more than just our babies - the espada looks like it will make a great addition to the family

      @@Kris_StilettoI got and carried it yesterday and I have to say - it’s one of the best Carrie’s I have - it almost disappears in pocket - the tip sweeps back and blends right in - i have the large telwar serrated - I love that blade but it scares people who accidentally get a peek - the espada just looks less intimidating - I’m gonna love this knife also - thanks for tilting the scales

      You're so welcome! The Large Espada is an awesome value and an exceptional Self-Defense Folder, in my opinion. Enjoy! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

      The this one is my personal one that I carry sometimes. It's internals have been completely polished. So, yes, it's way smoother than a Stock Espada. Just about all of my Tri-Ad Lock Folders, I carry, Imhave polished, if they needed it, to smooth them out and make them easy to use and fidget with. But, you can, also, just use them a ton and they will break in. Right on! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

    What will be better this one or rajah 2

    • @Kris_Stiletto
      @Kris_Stiletto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the Rajah II. I like The Espada better. And, my all time favorite folding fighter is the XL Talwar. The Rajah is a better Camp Knife, in my opinion. The Espada's and Talwar's are better balanced and are quicker in hand than the Rajah's, in my opinion. They are all great folders. Everyone has different taste and uses for their folders. For me, they have to be great self-defense tools first; everything else comes second to that. Try both, or all three and decide for yourself which one works the best for you... I hope this helps... Peace, Stiletto :)

      Stiletto already got rajah 2 and vaquero xl serrated in Aus 10A my dream knife was talwars which are no longer available anywhere. I am thinking of buying espada xl if I can’t find talwar .

      What? All of the AUS-10A, Large Espadas are gone? They're an excellent Mega Folder, so I can understand why... Now, let's see how long it takes to restock them... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

      @@Kris_Stiletto stiletto did you know that cold steel was sold to a company called GSM right. I don't think we're going to get the knives we're used to getting from Cold Steel anymore so you better start hoarding your collection like me

      @Kris_Stiletto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I did... :-( And, I have been watching them. So, far, they have done a decent job of keeping CS going. I absolutely luv the new GSM CS Knives that I have purchased this year. The only one I thought was junk was the Budget Oyabun 26T. We just have to pay attention and see where they take the Company... But, yes, get all the one's you like, for sure, Bro! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

    So annoying with the constant open and closing

    • @Kris_Stiletto
      @Kris_Stiletto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The purpose of the opening and closing in my videos is to show those that don't know how easy it is to open and close CS Tri-Ad Folders. I'm always hearing how hard it is to open and close CS Tri-Ad's. I don't have any CS Folders that give me a problem to open and close with one hand. And, I own just about all of the Zy-Ex or Zytel, Aluminum, and G-10 Models that CS has ever made... That's the reason; I hope that explains why I like to open and close my knives with one hand on my videos. Peace, Stiletto :-)
