Bryce has a lot to prove this season, and I fully expect him to prove it with his upgraded O-line, WR, coaching staff, and playbook. Pre-season favorite for Comeback Player of the Year, imo.
@@JJ-zr6fu I think in practice the award is both for players who had a breakout season after having a rough season or injury the year before *and* for players who go from great to bad to great again. The most recent precedent for someone like Bryce winning would be Joe Burrow-drafted number 1 in 2020, was injured and out for the season after 10 games. Even in those 10 games, he wasn't a "top player": his QB rtg on the season was 89.8 ... 13 TDs (1.3 per game) 5 INTs, only 6.7 yards per attempt. But he won the award in 2021, throwing 34 TDs (2.1 per game) to 14 INTs, 8.9 yards per attempt, boosting his completion percentage by 5 points and his QB rating by almost 20 (108.3).

on the play where you talk about the guard sliding away, I think 85 was suppose to help block him. He comes to his left and does nothing. doesn't even touch somebody, but if he slid where the guard was that guy would be blocked and Bryce gets to throw that ball.
It kind of looked like the protection call was for everyone to block the man to his right. If that’s the case, Zavala blocked according to his assignment.

The defense the Bills rolled out would have made anyone look good - and they did, as Jack Plummer also went 21/29 with two touchdowns. Many of them are not on a roster anymore, and the ones still with the Bills are 3rd string. The same as last year, against poor defenses Bryce will have his moments but many of the plays in his drive won't work against good defenders. A lot of the guys the Bills had out there have PFF grades below 40 and they were playing against well rested first string offense. I think this helps generate positive engagement with the team (because fans are understandable upset with the way Tepper has run the organization) but I don't think it's time to buy Bryce stock yet, and I wouldn't go to Vegas and hammer the Panthers over on win totals unless you have expendable income. His head coach was fired mid-season. He was thrown to the wolves with a 33 year old Adam Thielen (who is great), but that was it. Reich didn't build an offense around him for Bryce to thrive in, he implemented his offense and expected a rookie to run it. Never adjusted. There's gonna be a lot more play-action and well designed easy throws that can build his confidence to get him in the zone this year. Canales did a fantastic job with a downtrodden Baker Mayfield. He's also a great human and will put BY in the best possible position to succeed. They invested in the offense for him. There's a reason he's not a backup right now. He does have that "it" factor to him, no matter what last season looked like. Have high hopes for him and last year's troubles will only make him stronger, cuz that's the kind of dude Bryce Young is.
I don't understand why JT hates Thielen. Jealousy maybe? JT was a third string QB who only played in 17 games in his entire career.
