The Philippines should be proud to have you ladies from a foreign land, loving ❤️ and wanting to be Filipinos. That speaks volumes about the country and its people.
These two Russian ladies are fast becoming national celebrities in Philippine social media, and of the world. In 1948, six thousand Russians arrived in the Philippines. Former President Elpidio Quirino's Open-Door Policy resettled them at an island of Tubabao, southern Samar facing the Pacific Ocean. Now Russian community existed in Catmon, Cebu Island in Central Visayas Region. Russians peacefully co-existed with friendly locals who warmly welcome them. They have Russian Victory Day celebration parade at the Town with Fiesta-like atmosphere supported by the mayor of Catmon. It's like a Town Holiday.
Sa mga seaman, mas madaling makihalubilo sa Russians or Ukrainians and people with Russian descent kay sa mga ibang lahi. that's my experience as seaman. And with Anna, she sounds more Filipino in English and tagalog and everything in her than a Russian.
Exactly like that! Anna has the perfect Filipino accent in speaking both English and Tagalog. She is like a real pinay😝😝. Generally, Filipinos now don’t speak pure Tagalog. It’s mix - Tagalog, English , Spanish !! You can prove that in all Filipino media in you tube!! Don’t worry, if you know visayan , next Tagalog would be easy and vice versa. Just start with any Tagalog starters of conversation like Kumusta (how are you), mabuti(good), salamat (thank you), magandang umaga(good morning) ……. and the rest will follow. 😝
Yes Jelena, watch tagalog telenovelas . If you really want to live in the Philippines and learn the culture you need to speak Tagalog. You will feel more local in the place that you would like to settle. Tagalog is very important in all parts of Philippines Jelena❤ can't wait for you to start interacting to filipinos talking in Tagalog! You can do it Jelena!!!❤❤❤❤
Well, siempre, bago nag-evolve o maging 'national language' natin ang Tagalog' ay mahabang kasaysayan ang pinagdaanan, kaya dapat lang i-respeto, hangaan, at pagpugayin ang ating lingguwahe na nagkaroon na ng dariling 'datíng' (arrive 'ika ngà).
The first thing Jelena...RELAX. Don't overthink, keep it casual and fun. Filipinos are usually easy going and hospitable. Anna is correct, just keep going & don't be afraid to make mistakes. Forget perfect, practice makes progress. Also forget all the rigid rules of other languages which doesn't apply to Tagalog. Also watch TV shows and commercials and mimic the way Pinoys speak even if you don't completely understand the vocabulary. That will come eventually, just be patient.
If Basel The Hungry Syrian Wanderer got his Filipino Citizenship who is married to a half Pilipino, Anna can definitely apply also for Phil citizenship since Eric is a FULL FILIPINO. Maybe they have to consult an immigration lawyer
I don't know if it helped, but aside from meeting certain criteria, Basel has proven to be a good contributing citizen. He has businesses that employs Filipinos. He also provides monetary help to Filipinos. So they viewed it beneficial to grant him citizenship. Again, not sure if this is a factor, but my idea as to why it helped Basel's case.
That is correct. Kahel is the Tagalog word for Orange. Unfortunately, not many Filipinos knew this. Most of us still refer to Orange as Orange. We rarely use the word "Kahel".
I was amazed to Anna when she speaks Tagalog...And She was actually so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ and also she was very kind to all kinds of people most especially to the poor Filipino..
Orange in Tagalog sometimes is mentioned as “kulay kahel.” I am impressed with you speaking the native Filipino language. Maraming salamat sa inyong dalawa!
Thank you to both of you for studying Tagalog. If I'm there, I will study your Russian language. I will speak to you in Russian and you speak to me in Tagalog. God bless you!
the easiest to learn is talking to locals everyday , like what's interest you to learn ...you can ask what's in Tagalog Im hungry or what's in Tagalog Im full thanks . etc so basicalll everyday will remember
A foreigner staying or living in the Philippines has a huge advantage and key to being a Filipino citizen if he knows the national language Filipino. Once you enroll your kids to the Philippines, it’s a must to learn it. It’s part of the curriculum. Filipino is a subject. So have it and good luck. I can teach you Filipino via zoom. ❤God bless
The right diction ,right pronunciation makes u in the right track to learn to speak like locals.Anna u are sharply smart to figure things out for u and passionate to know and learn and adapt
sa Saudi Arabia, pinipilit kong matuto ng salita nila... natatawa sila dahil hindi slang.. pero natutuwa sila dahil gusto mong matuto ng salita nila... ganun rin po ang mga Pilipino, lalo na at nasa pinas ang maraming entertainer... at approachable... lalo na at interesado sa Pinoy dialect.. ^_^
Hello Miss Jelena! Your friend Anna is beautiful. I think I've seen her before in another video, but I did not know she is Russian. Her Tagalog is very impressive and to my ear she sounds like a Filipina. My parents who are no longer alive, came to United States from the Philippines and became naturalized American citizens after they were married. My brother and I were both born and grew up in the U.S. I'm currently studying Tagalog which my mom spoke, but my dad spoke Ilocano. He was originally from Bangued Abra. I studied German in High School and Russian in college. Two semesters for each language. I can read the cyrillic script and unfortunately, my Russian is starting to be forgotten without the opportunity to practice, I'm forgetting it, but my German is still strong. To miss Anna, Privyet! I will subscribe to her channel as well. Thank you for the interesting video!!
In a way we can relate how it feels like not saying po all the time because bisaya people don't use the word "PO", heheh since you stayed mostly in Samal, in mindanao that explains why you haven't adapted to use the word "po", and you rarely use tagalog also in mindanao. You will get the hang of it Jelena, for sure in few months, with passion in learning tagalog especially you know how to pronounce the words thru singing tagalog songs. You have different accent compared to Anna, but we as filipino we love your accent -- European accent is sexy too!
@@MsJelenayes! PO is to be used and is used every day. Do it, Jelena. Anna is right. You will be safe and protected if you use that magical.PO.❤ God bless
I think there is a common "hardness" in the way Tagalog and Russian both sound, and I believe this is part of what made Anna's Tagalog sound authentic. I've heard many Americans (whose first language is English) speak Tagalog and they all have that "foreign" sound. Anna's sounds like "native" (and even modern) Tagalog right off the bat!
I noticed how she speaks English is the way Filipinos speak English. Therefore, even at the start of the video, around 2:00 minutes, I know she speaks Filipino well. The accent differs from what region you came from.
When the locals laugh at your attemp at speaking Tagalog, take that as a compliment for making the effort to connect with them. They're glad you tried and cared to be with them.
I ❤ to learn, tagalog language. Lucky you guys knows how to speak Filipino language. My dream learning the language when I get there. Great day to you both.
The most awesome part is her English has a perfect Filipino accent. She speaks English perfectly but it sounds exactly Filipino too.😁👍. If I was not watching I think I would be listening to a Filipino TV broadcaster.
Since you're almost in Manila, please visit Vika (Eugene and Vika), the most famous Russian-speaking girl in the Philippines. She just gave birth to their first child.

You want to learn Tagalog? To start, collect as many Tagalog words as you can. Classify them into 3: Noun and Pronoun, Verb, and Adjective. Nouns are the things or objects around you. Verbs are action words. Adjectives are words to describe nouns. Once you have built a bowlful of these words, practice how you can put them together. Example: The beautiful (adjective) lady ( noun) is cooking (verb). Ang magandang (adjective) babae (noun) ay nagluluto (verb). That’s all you need to know and do for the next 2 months.
You will surely can learn tagalog easily Jelena. It looks difficult when you pronounce but when you learn it word by word like Anna said you will realize how easy to understand and learn tagalog.
Along with Kulas, Anna was one of the OGs of TH-cam content creators when she first started during her active singing days with Dave DiMuzio. Waaaaay ahead of the current crop of Westerners now flocking to the islands (Philippines) for TH-cam content.

the color orange in old Tagalog is Kahel but now we just call it orange. The fruit though is a borrowed word so we call it orange. Dalandan is different from orange as a species (tree and fruit).
Don't worry Jelena, in no time you will be able to learn how to speak tagalog too. Like Anna did, start with your tagalog singing by translating and watching the tv too. Good luck!❤
Oh my God! I checked out your place! You have a big and beautiful farm and resort in Naic, Cavite! I hope I can visit your place someday. Maraming salamat!

Simply both beautiful Moms.. Some filipinos laugh (but not all & not always) when we hear foreigners speak tagalog (both fluent or starting to learn a little) it doesn’t mean we are mocking you, insulting you, laughing at you, laughing with how you pronounce or your pronunciation or your accent for that matter but, we laugh because we are amuse and surprise to see and hear a foreigners speak tagalog because we know to some foreigners learning and understanding tagalog language is difficult and not easy to them.. Especially, learning the correct pronunciation & it’s meaning.. In fact we are happy cause some foreigners are determined to speak, learn & understand our language/dialect in the Philippines 🇵🇭.. 🙂 It seems like Anna, is very fluent in speaking Tagalog.. Now it’s your turn now, JK.. You need to learn especially, once you & your kids decided to stay in the 🇵🇭 someday.. You have to try & practice once in awhile, JK.. Patience & Practice makes perfect.. Just start in basic first.. Just like what Anna, taught you in this video.. Good luck! & God bless! JK.. 😍🥰😘❤️🌹🌹
@@MsJelena yehey! That’s good to know.. Sometimes you misheard some tagalog words, sometimes you say it wrong or pronounce it wrong but, don’t feel shy or embarrassed because that’s really ok.. You are on the stage of learning.. Keep it up! JK.. Kaya mo yan (You can do it) God bless! JK.. 🙂🙏🏻❤️
I think same with other nationalites when foreigners speak their language it's not laughing at them but finding it cute and love to hear another pronunciation of the language, "ay nakakatuwa nmn nagtatagalog sya" KAHEL is color orange in Filipino. Both beautiful.
I learned speaking in English through practice and reading Harry Potter series, Find the medium that you like: watching shows/movies, singing, acting, teaching, narrating, or reading. Eventually - with consistency - you'll be a conversationist then fluent, and then if you dare, go deeper.
Hello Jelena, I came across of your blog two days ago and I was enjoying it. First of I'm a pinoy living in USA, las vegas, NV for so long four decades na. Originally from manila. Anyway the places that you've been in the visayan region i haven't been there that's why by watching ur' blog as if i was there too. Also ok lang Jelena to say hi to Anna and i was surprised all of a sudden she was in your blog, it's been a while i haven't seen her blog. I started watching her blog when she was still single, got a bf, got married, have family and 3 kids and a resort business and Anna you looked diff now and say hi to hobby. I missed your tagalog song.....ask kulang are you still blogging? Willie Aranas from Las Vegas, NV
Start practicing by recording yourself on your phone. That’s a trick my language teacher taught me, because I’m currently learning a 5th language. Also, watch movies and read newspapers/magazines/books in the language you want to learn. When you bring your kids to the Philippines and they learn to speak Tagalog, practise speaking Tagalog with them. Also, check out some language apps for Tagalog. Take care and God bless.🥰
Our national language is tagalog, but there are many languages in different region,im also tagalog but when we meet visaya, pangasinan, ilocano, waray, chabacano etc.we talked in tagalog
Hi Jelena. Don't be afraid to make mistakes or discouraged when Filipinos laughed at you when you make mistakes. Since you learned 5 languages already, apply all your techniques in learning those languages to Tagalog. Tip: be like a baby. Take small steps. Play. Use object manipulation, and total physical response method. Anna is right, in 3 to 4 months, you will already be able to converse in Tagalog with simple sentences. 🙂
Orange is Kahel in Tagalog and in Ilokano its a citrus fruit that signifies blend colors of red-pula,and yellow-dilaw. Red mix Yellow= Kahel or Orange.
Hello beautiful Madams, kamusta na Mam Anna & Sir Eric, Yes magaling yan si Anna. You can learn easily Jellena you need to sing more tagalog understand this worlds in the song. Orange there might be tagalog of it but very seldom spoken due to more English tagalog have mixed called Taglish..
Miss Jelena, Tagalog language is so much easy to learn to speak or to right it. Just learn to recite the Tagalog Alphabets and use the vowels along with any consonant, that's it! You can then read them as it is. Just bear in mind that we don't have 7 letters of the English Alphabet, like C, F, J, Q, V, X & Z which usually brought us difficulty speaking them in English as the Tagalog close to those letters often the once we usually utter, e.g., C to K, F to P, J to H, V to B, Z to C. Q & X has no close Tagalog equivalent but in pronunciation, we combine 2 letters of our Alphabet to sound those letters. Besides, we learnt only all those letters when we were colonized by the Americans. Remember though, that E & I as well as O & U are pronounce the same but of a bit harder on I and U, i.e., E is EE & U is OO... Good Luck Miss Jelena. I Subscribed and following you from Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
Si Anna, - kudos to Eric - in my opinion, she sounds more filipino, in English and tagalog and everything in her, (galaw, aurra, pananalita at mga mannerism) sa obserbasiyon ko lang, than a Russian, kahit purong Russian siya. To me, she's a filipina with Russian descent.
Watch a Filipino movie of your interest in English subtitle over and over. Then watch again without subtitle. Just another fun way to learn. Soon you will live your own German Filipino movie. Keep up the great work 😊
Jelena you will get there too. Will you stay in the Philippines and get married to a local hi Anna thank you for loving and living it Phil lifestyle ❤️
I am Visayan. Because of the phonetic values, it's easier for me to sound Russian, German, Spanish and Italian than American English. Even though I've been almost 'twenny' years in the U.S.! 😅
She adapted the Philippine English accent when she is speaking English. She really sounds like a Filipina. That's amazing.
It's bcoz she is more fluent in tagalog than english and living here in the Philippines lol

JK.. 😍🥰😘❤️🌹🌹
Thank you 😊 yeah I already try to start to order food somewhere on tagalog or like that 😅🤭
@@MsJelena yehey! JK.. 🙂🙏🏻❤️

I learned speaking in English through practice and reading Harry Potter series, Find the medium that you like: watching shows/movies, singing, acting, teaching, narrating, or reading. Eventually - with consistency - you'll be a conversationist then fluent, and then if you dare, go deeper.
So interesting to see 2 ladies speaking Tagalog.

Hello Jelena, I came across of your blog two days ago and I was enjoying it. First of I'm a pinoy living in USA, las vegas, NV for so long four decades na. Originally from manila.

Willie Aranas from Las Vegas, NV
Hi 👋 yes they still vlogging. Have family vlog Baylosis Squad 😊
the key to learning tagalog quickly is to have local friends whom you can practice speaking tagalog regularly..
Happy watching both of you po! 😁
😅😅😅♥️
Orange is Kahel in Tagalog and in Ilokano its a citrus fruit that signifies blend colors of red-pula,and yellow-dilaw. Red mix Yellow= Kahel or Orange.

Orange is fruit Naranja (Spanish Pinoy) or Dalandan.Orange (color) is kulay Kahel.
Thank you very much respectfully for sharing 🙏
mabuhay po kayo may mga pusong pinoy🇸🇽🙏
HI BOTH BEAUTIFUL SOULS ❤🎉😊WELCOME BACK ERIC ANNA COMING BACK TO PHILIPPINES FROM RUSSIA.
Orange in Tagalog is I think dalanghita or sintunis (but could as well be grapefruit or lemon perhaps. In bisaya it is Kahil.
Watch a Filipino movie of your interest in English subtitle over and over. Then watch again without subtitle. Just another fun way to learn. Soon you will live your own German Filipino movie. Keep up the great work 😊
🤗👌❤️
Jelena you will get there too. Will you stay in the Philippines and get married to a local hi Anna thank you for loving and living it Phil lifestyle ❤️
great post. lovely ladies. may god continue to bless you and your families....
I am Visayan. Because of the phonetic values, it's easier for me to sound Russian, German, Spanish and Italian than American English. Even though I've been almost 'twenny' years in the U.S.! 😅
