I think she just referecing it to the actual pills. Drugs can come in colorful pills. the person she talking about is on medication/drugs to cope with emotional pain. It's like self medication to escape reality. that's why she says after "to keep me at arm lengh dont work" => even if the person is emotionally distant, it doesnt work, cause Lana want to be present for this person no matter what.

Black bathing suit is a rather angry song. It’s not about a relationship with a guy exactly but mostly about critics who came for her during quarantine

Velvet Crowbar and Noir are unreleased songs with a more angry tone. Also, In My Feelings, High by the Beach (w/ the music video) and Dealer. Thank you for doing these reactions I love them so much!

As a long time Lana fan, I love watching other people react to her and see what it’s like for different people to listen to her for the first time, how they feel about it, what they take from it. But it’s hard to find reactions as good as Mere’s. They’re truly in depth and focus on the lyrical content- what the songs actually MEAN, rather than just bopping to the beat and calling it that
I think you’d love Lana’s poetry audio book from 2020 🥺 it’s so underrated and beautiful, I think you’d specifically love Sportcruiser, it’s amazing💕

Okay, I have a couple thoughts on this song. The first one is that this is Lana at her best…Vulnerable, heartbreaking lyrics set to an almost dreamlike beat. It gets me every time!
Another observation I’d like to make is that the song lyrics focus so much on her lover’s addiction to cocaine and pills that it far overshadows HER addiction to HER LOVER, right? The title even hints at this: Cinnamon Girl…Not because SHE is addicted to illicit drugs, but because she is the “girl,” or the romantic partner to the one who is being overcome by his/her addiction to cocaine and pills. The fact that she, too, is obviously suffering from a problem with addiction, which is her addiction to this person, as well as her extreme codependence on this person.
It just goes to show that addiction has many “faces” and can take many forms.
That's a perfect way to put it. I've always wondered about why it's titled that way and now it all makes sense, she's a genius

Here are a bunch of angry songs by Lana: Dealer (I’m not sure of what the song talks about, all though she decently was angry while making it), Cruel world (the relationship is over, so now she’s looking back and she’s pointing out the man’s flaws and other things), Velvet crowbar [unreleased] (she talks about how frustrated and angry the fact that her loved one doesn’t care of her / doesn’t support he4 make her), Cherry (it’s pretty much a mix of sadness and frustration with a much more vibrant sound than her usual), Fuck3d my way up to the top (from what I heard this should be a song where she appears to be angry at someone), In my feelings (once you listen to it it’s self explanatory), Noir [unreleased] and in the end Video games, which shows disappointment and devotion rather than anger
I WOULD RECOMMEND: DEALER, CRUEL WORLD, VELVET CROWBAR, IN MY FEELINGS AND NOIR

Yes! There are so many topics on these records that Lana had never really addressed before. Her writing is also next level on these, w/o a lot of songs about toxic relationships & drugs. There are some, of course, but not as much.

I think "Dealer" shows of some anger and frustration, although, form what I know, the lyrics are rather fictional scenario, the song shows real emotions
