Floyd's body attack was perfection. He never threw a body shot that didn't land exactly where he aimed it. And his jab to the belly stopped the best fighters in their tracks. It was the best jab to the body in the history of the sport. You can argue about his other tools but his body attack was perfect.

Floyd’s body jab was fucking brutal. It kept the most aggressive fighters from coming forward. People talk about Floyds supposed lack of power but the truth is. You get in the ring against top guys with out power, at some point in those 12 rounds you get walked down. Nobody walked down Floyd because his counters were sharp and his body attacks were accurate and brutal.

    • @mastermindenterpriseslimit7555

The body jab was unbelievably accurate and lethally effective, when it shouldn't have been.
One SHOULD Be able to parry it and return with a hook, straight or uppercut, but Floyd captured their focus to the point that they'd simply try to charge in, to be impaled by the spearlike body jab.

A lot of people are used to throwing lower punches by reaching for their punches which taxes the shoulder incredibly fast. Imagine carrying a heavy object with your arms fully extended versus picking up the box and keeping it close to your mid section. The first will kill your shoulders immediately. Squatting and “digging” is crazy important, but something a lot of people don’t understand. If you squat, you can A. punch at the same power as if you were to throw shots to the head without taxing your shoulders and B. You can get a stupid amount of power just by learning to pivot and use your hips and rotation from your core to literally put your body behind a punch. You can test this by trying to throw a hook punch for example as you normally might putting all your swinging into it versus literally keeping your arm at a hook position, never actually throwing your arm into it and just trying to pivot on your feet and twist your upper body to where your fist connects with the bag. You’ll notice, you will have a crazy amount of power without even throwing a legitimate punch. The squatting and engagement of the body is very much a reason why Floyd doesn’t ever fatigue. He knows how to throw very hard punches when need be without compromising his shoulders
