What did you think of my ride? Have you ridden up Hurricane Ridge? Would you join this event next time? Where do you want to see me ride next? What else would you want to know about my Brompton?

Haha, maybe! I was wearing red/white on the way up, light blue on the way down.

Thanks for the video. It was my first time riding the hurricane. I’ll definitely do it again next year.❤

I did this ride last year and this video brings back a lot of good memories. Amazing ruffles, inspiring percussion music, majestic views, and an incredible post ride meal. (I also bought a Brompton this year.) I would love to do it again someday but not on my Brompton!

That's great, glad that this video brought up good memories. Hope you've been enjoying your Brompton! Would have loved to see another foldable join me that day but alas there wasn't 😆

30lbs of bike going uphill is no joke! Well done! I'm not so big on descending either. Some of those descents on RAMROD and Sunrise are pretty crazy.

This looks like a great ride, I think I’ll sign up for this next year!

Glad to hear that the Brompton does so well on a descent. I live in a flat area but have brought it to mountainous areas before, and worried about the braking issue overheating the rims. Good points about the added wind resistance of the upright riding position and the natural rolling resistance of the smaller wheels being helpful for controlling your speed. Next time I am flying down a hill, I may open my jacket up so it acts like a big sail. Thanks for the video!

Ive seen a video of a guy going 69km/h down a hill with a T line “dash amin” channel
I know a guy who blew out his tire tube going downhill in Malaysia with a stock c line. I think those very long downhill that are steep, maybe alternate the braking so that one wheel doesn’t generate enough heat to pop the tube.

Drove up from Cali to Seattle to do the STP this year...hoping to do the RSVP next year! This looks like a great ride too! Thanks for the vids, man!

Nice how was your STP? Yes I'll probably make the RSVP a yearly tradition for me.

@@BestSideCycling... original plan was to do the 1 day event, but due to lack of training (BIL, Nephew, and I), we ended up doing the 2 day event...We've done several bike events here in Cali, but never done an even as big as STP! I think being around people, friendly folks, helped our untrained as*es finish the ride! After the long drive, hot days, this event was so worth it! Definitely will be back for more!..but next year will be RSVP

I think you can simply mod one of your rear cog. I believe 17T can fit in the rear without any modification to the frame. Maybe 18T i need to ask my friends.
I was thinking maybe to do a 17t , 11t . One for climbing. One for normal. But that’s assuming you want fast speed.
Otherwise going external with another wheel set may be worth investing in. Ive seen 21t and maybe 28t in the rear, I forget. That way you can have a lighter setup than with an internal hub

You bombed it up the hill passing all those lycra-clad road bikes! What size of chainring were you using? 44T?

    • @BestSideCycling
      @BestSideCycling  ปีที่แล้ว

😂 to be fair I was a Lycra clad Brompton but I had it completely stock so 50T!

I see people modifying 3 and even 5 gears on the BWR hub. Maximum touring range😅
