    I'd love to see RB build a Honda K-series buggy! Your recent buggy chassis have been awesome, would be sweeeet to see one with a K in it!

      I second this.
      Somewhere on TH-cam, a guy fabbed a 4wd tube buggy using a B18 non vtec and an LS trans w/limited slip, mounted longitudinally. The axles acted as driveshafts. It was yellow, and the clip showed it climbing a wall. If I can find it, I'll edit this post, and paste the link for the video.

    Coulda skipped all that other mess and just got a high quality 420 chain. High tensile 420 would take a ton of abuse. I still use #35 reaper chain on my 20hp Tillotson with a juggernaut pulley. No issues

    • @RedBeardsGarage
      @RedBeardsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is not even on the same level as a 20hp Tillotson. The torque would be the issue. We have used motocross 420 chain in the past with 40ft-lbs of toque and stretched it a ton.

    Red, you need to get/make yourself a rotary welding table. A rotary table would make welding hubs to sprockets easier.

    That spring for the tensioner is going to need to be significantly stronger, since the chain is going to want to stretch and jump when under load.

    I'm loving this build, I'm getting ready to modify my manco dingo frame, was gonna put a duromax 440 but got a sweet offer n sold it, same day I bought a gx390 for dirt cheap n runs just needs a new carb, but I have a 32mm flatslide on the shelf, can I throw it on n run it reliably or do I run the risk of blowing it up?

    RBG, did you eventually get your internet situation resolved? Starlink or cellular? I was watching a video on another YT channel on how a guy bought a wifi router with cell sim built in to get coverage at his place in the country and it made me think about your setup. He put an antenna on his roof connected to his wifi router and gets 50mb down/8mb up through cell towers. If you are still just using your phones, take a look at the "The Kelley's Country Life" channel.

    Am I the only one that thinks that the carb is way too small for this size of the engine

    • @RedBeardsGarage
      @RedBeardsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its a little small but its what I had on the shelf. Still bigger than the stock carb so either way its going to make more power.

    No doubt the solution you chose is the best one. But , it did occur to me that you could have aligned your sprockets on top of one another drilled holes through both of them. Then put spacers between the sprockets, bolt them up tight and the teeth are aligned. they will stay that way since you aren't using the key way to hold them in alignment. Finally , you could unbolt one of the hubs then slide it on the axle with the key in place and finally re-drill the bolt holes for the hub. Simple! Not so much, but an interesting possibility any way. As always I enjoy your fab videos immensely,

    • @willieshaw2522
      @willieshaw2522 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or hobbed another keyway in one of the sprockets.
