Picked up Edition One last week. Interior and fit and finish clearly superior to I pace and Tesla; Not as quick as either; not an issue but it certainly depends on driving habits and preference. E Tron has plenty of linear acceleration for me (my prior car was Macan Turbo). More quiet than Tesla, although I pace does a pretty good job at wind noise. Infotainment package better than I Pace, but Tesla's single screen setup could be preferred for a more Apple-like feel. Personally, I like the E Tron package and I don't find it daunting especially once you customize it. Handling on curves is certainly not on par with I Pace, but I didn't get it to throw it around curves like my Macan. Range was in issue although I'm getting 220 on display based on my driving habits. I would not get E Tron if I anticipated more than 5-6 plus 200 mile road trips a year. Bottom line, E Tron better for more conservative owner who averages less than 100 miles per day and relishes no drama, luxurious driving as opposed to rally like experience.

You need to check your information regarding BIK, ie company car tax. It's not 16%. Its currently 0%. 21/22 is 1% and 22/33 is 2%. Huge difference and a reason why many company car owners are going electric.

I have one and love it. I am curious as to how I would comfortably drive on the right side as in the UK. My left hand is useless. If it had a manual trans, I really don't think I could deal with it. The touch screens, not as much of an issue, but still a challenge.

Great in-depth review! Very much appreciated.
One question, do the mirror cameras help with visibility from the approaching High Beams?
    Thank's ...
By the way the gram bars in the front are common & very useful when making a unexpected or quick turn. Helps a great deal, Ive had many cars with this feature. Not too impressed with the materials that went into the vehicle. I found the Hybrid Lincon Aviator has a Much Much better interior.

You can switch of the haptic feedback ont the front screens and just have capacitive touch.
Also, non USB-C in the back means it is NOT a 2021 version. Tisk tisk.
Also also, the lip in the back is meant for avoiding stuff rolling out. It's a feature, not a bug.

I don’t know why Audi didn’t offer a combination of both door mirrors e.g. camera + mirror allowing max visibility angles that way technophobes or someone unfamiliar with the tech can borrow the car without reading the manual, also at nighttime it’s not always practical to have a bright light monitor on so having both would give the user the abuts to disable when not needed

I've been driving my Model S for 6 years, and I can tell you quite plainly that the touchscreen is LESS dangerous/distracting than everything I'd had in the past, and I've been driving for 30 years.

I test drove the e-tron (UK) and found that, while very nice, it was very Audi and just felt fairly standard in comparison to the I-pace. Also, the infotainment touch screen (the "buttons" on the right hand side) were really poorly responsive. Sometimes I was having to push 4-5 times before it would register, which may well have just been a problem with the model I was driving.

Mr11ESSE111 I guess you’re the stupid guy here... Range is only one thing of many things that are important. I had a Model X for three years and I really liked it but the e-Tron is better for so many reasons. I have this car for two months and the first thing you’ll notice is that the e-Tron is so much quieter than the Model X. The next thing is interior quality... The Model X is like a typical American car, looks good from the outside but the interior is trash. Cheap materials everywhere and even the steering wheel feels like plastic. Also, range doesn’t look to bad when you compare it to the standard range Model X 100 (e-Tron 417km WLTP vs Model X 100 375km WLTP) which costs 15000€ more! Audi Cruise Control is actually better than the Autopilot because it reads the traffic signs and automatically increases/reduces the speed limit. I don’t make many long trips but Ionity is there for you. Munich to Berlin and Hamburg to Munich were no problem at all, when cruising at 135kmh you’ll get about 340km of range.

Pffftt.......This car suffers from the same "Trio of Troubles" as all EV's do - overpriced and unaffordable for your average consumer, extremely limited range and slow recharge time. Buy anything BUT the Audi eTron!!!!! It is a gorgeous automobile, but the dealer support and customer support are quite bad. The charger that they supply with the car CANNOT be used for charging in a condo building, as the highest voltage that is permissible in commercial buildings is 208 - the Audi charger is programmed to NOT accept that. So you can charge at the 110 volt level, which gives you 1 mile of charge per hour. That's right, charging overnight for 12 hours allows you to drive 12 miles the next day.
All of the other electric vehicles have chargers that accept and will charge at the 208 level. When I complained, they offered a bunch of other vendors to purchase a different charger. I think that for $90,000 Audi should give you a f***ing charger that works wherever you live. OR they should at least warn you of this problem and let you make an informed choice. Spend your money on a Tesla. . .

    • @usamericans6045
      @usamericans6045 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That sounds more like a problem with your condo than the car. Have you considered a different EVSE? What amperage for 110v? At 15A/120V you should be getting 5 mph, unless the car is outside in the freezing cold.

At best, this video is a shameless move to garner more page views. Renaming an old 2019 video a "2021" review. At worst it is misleading, as this is not the most recent incarnation of the e-tron.
This is the type behaviour I would expect from a teenager that is addicted to TH-cam statistics. Not from a reputable publication like What Car?

So in summary, it is more expensive than the competition, as well as slower, has a shorter range and is less pleasant to drive - what a winner from VW. The cabin is however quite nice so long as you like grey. I suspect VW just grabbed one of their current SUV platforms, ripped out the stinking diesel and replaced with an electric motor and batteries. The market is probably limited to mums who need to drop the kids off at school before going to her job at a nail bar, with perhaps a trip to Lidl at lunchtime to collect pizza and red bull for the children's tea.

Price - no problem for many who appreciate quality and luxury,
Speed - who the hell really NEEDS to drive a car faster than the e-tron?
Range - a return trip of 196 miles is more than enough for millions of people except on rare occasions,
Less pleasant to drive - Whaaat?? What are you on? The e-tron is super luxurious to drive and so incredibly comfortable and so smooth on that air suspension, and ultra ultra quiet (especially with the acoustic glass) - ooooh lovely! Yep it's the winner for me alright!

Brian Kirby lmao I swear you people are worst than religious people. We are not at a point where electric cars are more cost efficient yet because if that eas the case everyone would buy them. 60% of yearly maintenance? Ok?? All I do is a oil change which means I would save $40 per year big deal that’s not enough to offset the initial inflated cost over 10 years of ownership.

Because most of the tesla haters are retards. They prefer to drive on inificient car just because he looks good.
Most of the new Tesla with the same battery as the Audi made 600km, if the Audi make 250km will be a miracle, that car drag 2.5t.
So any day give me a Tesla. Autopilot better range and the most safe car in Euroncap.
