@@enricobreveglieri397 probably not great. Glare is a cool move but I don’t think it is enough to give the snake a tank higher than C tier, which might be too generous
Also, I can imagine a tournament with top 10 OU picks being automatically banned. That would be interesting as well.

Good Game Jim. I tweaked my team a little and just reached Top10 with it. I have to agree with you, Charizard is probaply the most fun Pokemon to use in the Generation Three Overused Metagame. Much love from Germany across the Globe.
I've been getting back into Pokemon Showdown in the last month, after about 10 years away. It's incredible the amount of new gameplay mechanics that Pokemon has accrued in that time. So many things to memorize now.

Oh shit jimothy, i had no idea you were ladder gentleman. I was the snorlax that got para'd 4 times around the 50-ish minute. Sorry for complaining about the hax, it was a rough day. The gyara is sub, dance, flail, eq with liechi. The forre is sunny day for weather clear and the lax is curse boom for skarm. Doom traps gar and dug traps tar after zard baits it in. It's an extremely weird team, but gyara does such a great job of getting free turns and attracting status that sub is pretty reliable to get an extra dance. At +3 atk, flail/eq ohkos everything and at+2 flail is still pretty close.
For the numerous comments I've seen saying, "switch to regi on the forre boom." I'm inclined to agree with you, that was probably the right play. Here's how I think the game goes from there:
Dug comes in to trap the regi, but regi lives (cuz my dug is jolly 220 atk to out speed +1 tar while also living bold blissey ice beam) and KO's me with counter and I rage cuz I thought it would kill.
Doom comes in to fire blast regi, then gets trapped by dug.
Gyara comes in and forces dug out.
DD on the switch to zap.
Sub down to 1 hp/liechi as zap tbolts all my subs.
Then flail sweeps.
This may sound pretty generous to me, but I think that's actually the most logical way for the game to go. At the point where doom is in and he has a free switch pert dies to doom's HP grass, zap lives a FB but then needs to win the speed tie vs zard and jimothy has no way to know my last is dumpstered by zap so why would he willingly take 70+% from FB when he has a dug to trap for free? Especially considering that even if I were sub zard to come in after the trap, he can always switch espe into the FB to sac or into the sub to break with psychic, then zap KO's. I don't think Jimothy played particularly poorly that game, but DD sub Gyara has such an overwhelmingly good MU once registeel takes damage that he was always going to need a lot of hax and to crazy outplay me in some 50/50's to win.
Oh shit lol I just realized I apologized for complaining about the hax in the video. Ohhhh that's... Kinda not a great look
I do miss the days with no team preview. Was fun seeing the team structure unfold throughout the game, and being able to hide yours until the end.

Great session Jim ! I personally would have kept Zapdos and sacrificed Registeel against that Charizard / Snorlax / Dugtrio team when you had already beat the Snorlax. Very good plays otherwise

Heyo, that was me he was playing. While that certainly does seem to be the case, jimothy's matchup vs my team is actually pretty terrible because of how easy my win condition is to set up. If i can get registeel to 75% or less and then force his dugtrio to eq, i win. My gyara is dd, sub, flail, eq with liechi berry. Once i get my dd, it'll ohko everything on his team after i sub down to liechi. I actually left a comment going over how the game would've probably ended had he not sac'd the zap and instead took the boom with regi.
I think the music is a little bit loud, but great video!

I'm not familiar with gen 3, what is the point of Baton Passing with zapdos turn 1 in the first game instead of just swapping normally? What's the difference?
If you select baton pass and your opponent choses to switch, they will switch first and you will be able to baton pass to another pokemon knowing your opponents switch in, letting you choose the best pokemon for the situation.
I feel you should have switched Dugtrio into CB Metagross for the guaranteed KO and to scout, he may have been more likely to switch to something that doesn't get trapped/hit by EQ

My brother played sword and shield. Called me bad for using items, and to just "get good" and use Pokemon I like instead. Unbeknownst to them, they already are the pokemon I like.
Been loving trying to make lead regirock work, any team recs? Been going regirock/bulky tar/starmie/skarmory/gengar/blissey and running a lot of t wave, is this the direction i should be going? I def struggle against swampert and suicune big time
Hp grass on gengar should ohko swampert aswell as threaten suicune, if resttalk suicune gives you trouble your best bet would be to toxic it and wall it with another tanky water type
