Honda has come a long way .you will be just fine with this mechanic. I got pulled up a steep hill by one my ranger 900 xp Northstar broke down at wolf pen gap .that Honda was bad ass don't ever underestimate a Honda. come on
It's a Honda Powe to weight is just right an the small tires an rims low ground clearance is all you need for hill climbing and not all that heavy. Like a Honda 2000 four tracks 300 duck in the mud.come on with the come on
Just got my 2022 Pioneer 520. Just breaking it in, but man it seems to shift so violently. It is really jerky shifting in in either manual or automatic mode. I hope a break-in helps soften that up.
Do the clutch adjustment procedure as described elsewhere on YT. I did it on my 2022 520 Pioneer after 60 miles of riding. It improved shifting by 90%.

Well, it would have been useful to have an idea , if the Honda bogged down, over heated, lost major power , etc going up the hills.
Never had issues with that but did have drive train issues with loud clunking going down hill engine breaking in 4H.
Are you manually shifting or using the automatic feature? I find the 520 has a lot of grunt and does well on the hills.
I use manual mode when climbing. Auto mode when cruising down the trails or roads.
How do you like it so far? I was all in on the old 500 but the lack of a dump bed steered me away
I love the 520. It does the work I need it to do on the property then have fun on our trails.

I just got a 2022 and was told shifting gets a bit better but you get used to it. I hope it settles down!
