The thing for me about low light with these isn’t night time darkness but rather deep shade. The GoPro so easily falls apart if you’re just hiking in a forest. Thank Ben for this PRACTICAL video review of GoPro 13, DJI Action 5 Pro and Insta360 Ace Pro 2. I love it when you say it's NOT SPONSORED. One question please. Does the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 requires the user to download a mobile app and register his camera before being allowed to use it just like the Ace Pro 1 and DJI Action 5 Pro? This is a huge PRIVACY concern for me. GoPro does not require this. Thanks again.
Defo picking the action 5 as my first action camera… it is the cheapest of the bunch, most (useful) features/accessories for the money you pay, better screen and it’s the lightest, which is important since I’m putting it on a helmet
4:19 GoPro leaves the room! 🤣 Are you going to do a more in-depth review for Action 5 pro and Ace pro 2? We need to see more, especially for stabilization! It's very different as you move and talk in real scenarios. My Action 4 is doing a great job. And now with the 5, in your video, the footage looks smoother and has less artifacts than others
Thanks Ben. I have always a confusion Which one is better in low light? But after seeing your vedio my all doubts are clear thanks for such a amazing clarification about the gopro.
Great job with the review. I know I can always rely on this channel to know what's up with the latest in the action camera field. Maybe this new Action Pro 2 will get the X4 to go down in price? 😁
A big part of my TH-cam channel was made with my insta 360 One R, but now that I got a scratch on one side of the lens and a "smudge" on the other, it's time for an upgrade. At 1:38 you can really see how overexposed GP13 is when sunlight hits a face. Ace2 and Action5 are pretty close, but I still lean toward Ace 2 because its colors are way more natural and pleasant. Action5 makes skin tones look a bit red and too weirdly smooth
The image quality is a bit better by ACE pro 2, but I prefer AC5 pro because of the dual screen and ease of use. Besides, ACE pro 1 is still very good, I think those who already own it do not need to upgrade to ace pro 2
very very good comparison but could you please always include the testing on how long the ramp up times between those cameras are? I mean from pressing the record button up to the point where it is actually recording. Thank you!
I've still not giving up the hopes on my GoPro 11. With GoPro Labs I can get 200mbit bitrate and goods stabilization on videos in the darker environments. But I need external light when it gets dark to make full use of it as the picture is pretty dark due to both my iso-limitation and shutter speed limitation.
Why? Other than low light ability (yeah, because everybody buys action cams to shoot in a pitch black room), what do you think is so bad about the gopro when compared to the others?
@@MTB_FPV I did and I ask again. Other than low light capabilities, how is this end game for the goprk. Ben himself, despite the free pre production "not sponsored" disclaimer, didn't imho demonstrate that either one of the other cameras ended gopro's game. Sponsored means they are getting paid to create a video by Insta360. In this case he received an advance copy of his AcePro 2 for free to review with no restrictions, and no payments. Thats *journalism* not sponsorship. Now you can decide if getting advanced cameras has a benefit for his TH-cam channel and it makes him more likely to give positive reviews so that companies keep giving him advance copies... but I think Ben is one of the most honest in the initial reviews each time.
@@canyonblue737-8 - thanks for explaining. I'm surprised with how many viewers don't know what "sponsored" means. Maybe I need to explain it more clearly in every video?
@@canyonblue737-8 Well, thats what YOU think. You have no idea if theres money envolved my friend. And since i have like 12 years of TH-cam, all i can say is: don't believe in anyone.
No 10-bit color, weighs heavier than competitors, no larger sensor, no cloud storage /upload and delete option like go pro, and this year one less "budget model" released. No significant updates from insta 360 at all!
I'd like to see a slightly larger sensor in an action cam, similar to the Osmo Pocket 3's. That would boost low light performance, where these action cams usually fall short. Regarding the DJI, I don't like having to side load their app. Their app needs to be made available through the Play Store.
New user for osmo action 5 pro. This is helpful in exploring what I can do with it as I’m also trying to go back into vlogging after being in hiatus of 1 yr
AcePro2 features a dedicated underwater shooting mode snd has been develop together with in-depth feedback and professional diver user experience to bring out the best underwater footage. And there's a designated dive case for more demanding scenarios underwater
Is there any jittering in low light super night mode while shooting at 4k 30fps or 60fps, as I had a lot of jittering when making low light footage using the Osmo Action 4?
Unfortunately, if you use multiple cameras in log and color grade the Ace Pro takes a hit without 10 bit color since real professional cameras all have at least 10 bit including your 2 main competitors. The Ace Pro needs to remove the “Pro” from its name. GoPro needs some feature upgrades, but for daytime cinematic results, it still rules. And I don’t mean the 13 because the 12 is the same camera without a few auto lenses.
Just finished watching the video and I think I'll have to give to the Dji action 5 for this one. I have a gopro hero 10 black and its fine for me due to the fact I bought early release and have had a few problems with it. I have not used it much early in my career so i have been running some test and recently gave it new update. The footage seems to shakey on my hero 10 but am not sure if its due to the fact I bought it early and have not gave them enough time to work out the kinks but it looks like dji has always been consistent with there hardware. I think for my next purchase it will be DJI but i will try the gopro later down the line since its always been part of my arsenal.
why dont they give us something like Action 5 AF (with 1inch and autofocus). Let it be less durable, it's ok if you dont use it in real action. Pocket 3 has it and the footage looks the best, but i dont like the body of pocket 3 (fragile gimbal, rptating screen, built in battery).

3:27 The ace pro 2 clearly takes the lead in low-light situations. You can see how well it retains those shadow details. Def makes a difference for nighttime shots
Looks like the only feature significantly outweigh others is weight. I will go with DA5 pro, thanks~
My video is 80% underwater and the 60 m depth is incredible. 4 hour battery. No overheating issues. Versatile wireless mic works with any remote mic. I'll probably switch my 4 GoPros to DJI
Thanks brother for the work in helping us make decisions.
I do automotive Reviews - I get a new press car each week. I have used a gopro with a Rode Mic for awhile, and here in Phoenix area, it over heats in 10 minutes. Beyond annoying. Out of the DJI and Insta - which one last's the longest in the heat? And I know DJI can use 2 wireless Mic's. What about the insta 360, can it use a wireless mic?
Any word on how the DJI holds up to heat? Gave up on GoPro as they always shut down when I’m using in the summer heat.
Thanks again.
chinese brands love to collect data from unsuspecting consumers..its not for espionage but a free gift n greetings on ur next bday..
@@planetisabelabeyond6593 Yeah! Good luck to those people with free gift from China!
@@planetisabelabeyond6593 Yeah, good luck to those who get free gifts from China.
Defo picking the action 5 as my first action camera… it is the cheapest of the bunch, most (useful) features/accessories for the money you pay, better screen and it’s the lightest, which is important since I’m putting it on a helmet
Does the Ace Pro 2 have live streaming via the Insta app or some way?
Is there a current action cam that can record continuously at 4k while also being plugged to a power source to go for hours of recording?
Do we need to pay subscription to use the Insta360? Which one of these is the most durable since they are all "action" cameras?
No subscription needed to use insta360 cameras nor editing software
4:19 GoPro leaves the room! 🤣 Are you going to do a more in-depth review for Action 5 pro and Ace pro 2? We need to see more, especially for stabilization! It's very different as you move and talk in real scenarios. My Action 4 is doing a great job. And now with the 5, in your video, the footage looks smoother and has less artifacts than others
Could you please compare the ultrawide iphone 16 pro with the insta ace pro 2? I want to know which one is better in “fisheye”
Please do battery test and heating test in sunlight
I'm not sure - but I definitely love my X4, still use it all the time
A big part of my TH-cam channel was made with my insta 360 One R, but now that I got a scratch on one side of the lens and a "smudge" on the other, it's time for an upgrade. I think the X4 is an awesome jack of all trades. I already have a Go 3 for shooting my vlogs, so the X4 will be all I need. @@AuthenTech
How is the sound quality of the DJI Mic2 with this one compared to the Action 4/5? I know the GoPro doesn’t sound that great with it. Trying to decide if it’s time to upgrade the Hero 8 😂. I like my One X2 360 camera so I know their software is cool
If I am looking for soccer recording while on self wearing and recording sometimes as well which one is more suitable please ?? Between gopro 13 and insta 360
Does DJI and Insta have something similar to GoPro's magnetic charging port for long timelapse outside (where you can connect to a battery pack in all weather?)
What about night timelapses? and star tracing, I know Go Pro have it, but the other ones too? are they good?
At 1:38 you can really see how overexposed GP13 is when sunlight hits a face. Ace2 and Action5 are pretty close, but I still lean toward Ace 2 because its colors are way more natural and pleasant. Action5 makes skin tones look a bit red and too weirdly smooth
cant decide... ace pro2 or osmo pocket 3??
how about zoom capability? which one can shoot from far?
Needed this video. Thank you
The image quality is a bit better by ACE pro 2, but I prefer AC5 pro because of the dual screen and ease of use. Besides, ACE pro 1 is still very good, I think those who already own it do not need to upgrade to ace pro 2
Do I understand that right: the lens on the DJI is a fixed one? Even when its scratched it´s not possible to replace it?
The OA5 is the same as the 4,3, etc where the lens is threaded and is removable.
very very good comparison but could you please always include the testing on how long the ramp up times between those cameras are? I mean from pressing the record button up to the point where it is actually recording. Thank you!
Great suggestion
I've still not giving up the hopes on my GoPro 11. With GoPro Labs I can get 200mbit bitrate and goods stabilization on videos in the darker environments. But I need external light when it gets dark to make full use of it as the picture is pretty dark due to both my iso-limitation and shutter speed limitation.
End game for go pro company😂😂😂
They probably will return next year. But this year they lost :(
Why? Other than low light ability (yeah, because everybody buys action cams to shoot in a pitch black room), what do you think is so bad about the gopro when compared to the others?
@@TheForeigner68 did you watch the full review? Guess not.
@@MTB_FPV I did and I ask again. Other than low light capabilities, how is this end game for the goprk. Ben himself, despite the free pre production "not sponsored" disclaimer, didn't imho demonstrate that either one of the other cameras ended gopro's game.
You might prefer the ace pro 2 or the OA5 but that's personal preference.
@@TheForeigner68 overheating and working time is better on dji. Don't know about ace pro 2 yet
Looks like there’s some problem’s with the ace pro 2. Everything related to the camera is out of stock everywhere in the eu, across all major camera stores. The plot thickens!
Which has better sense of speed for racing videos?
Great comparison review.
Those that are blind to see, or worse, that refuse to see.... Ace Pro 2 is better in every way.
The eyes are useless when the mind is blind
The low light on the insta360 is incredible ( LEICA) being the lense manufacturer is kinda getting my attention... I am in a dilemma .. please help guys . Which kne should i get
Def AcePro2 with 2 battery bundle!
And you even get gesture commands to take photos or start/ stop recording as well as the usual voice commands
DJI has the Clearest Audio, but i like how gopro implement their mounting system which dji is suppose to be the 1st to do that cause they are the 1st do the magnet system mount. the Insta 360 is like future proofing if compare to other due to 8k + better low light.
I mostly ride my motorcycle in low light, night time, regrettably picked up a GoPro as my first camera. For the £60 difference here between Action 5 Pro and Ace Pro 2, I'd have to pick the cheaper Action 5 Pro.
If u gonna take night laps off the stars, Milky Way and Aurora, is the Insta Ace pro 2 the one u recommend?:) or do u have a better camera for that use? Timelapse, aurora laps, night laps is what I want to do an think is the coolest
That's the only one I would recommend.
Its perfect.
The Ace Pro 2 shines even more after dark
If this video isn’t sponsored, how were you able to get the Ace Pro 2 before release 🤔
@@AuthenTech If the product was sent free, you are sponsored. You gained financially.
@@canyonblue737-8 Well, thats what YOU think. You have no idea if theres money envolved my friend. And since i have like 12 years of TH-cam, all i can say is: don't believe in anyone.
Yeah, having cameras for free before anyone else ... it is not sponsored :-D
@@johnbranham9756 DJI Mimo app is in the iOS Play Store.
New user for osmo action 5 pro. This is helpful in exploring what I can do with it as I’m also trying to go back into vlogging after being in hiatus of 1 yr
How about heating while using atleast 1 hour hows the heat
Which one is best for underwater, scuba diving etc...?
AcePro2 features a dedicated underwater shooting mode snd has been develop together with in-depth feedback and professional diver user experience to bring out the best underwater footage. And there's a designated dive case for more demanding scenarios underwater
Is there any jittering in low light super night mode while shooting at 4k 30fps or 60fps, as I had a lot of jittering when making low light footage using the Osmo Action 4?
What camera has the best built in audio out there please none of these sounded that clear. Thanks
Sir please make a video , is it really worth buying action cameras in 2024 as new phones already has it all !!!
Thank you for the balanced review.
For durabality we still love GoPro.
lol
why dont they give us something like Action 5 AF (with 1inch and autofocus). Let it be less durable, it's ok if you dont use it in real action. Pocket 3 has it and the footage looks the best, but i dont like the body of pocket 3 (fragile gimbal, rptating screen, built in battery).
I’ve been asking for this for years.
😍I really enjoy the insta360 Ace Pro camera 2
Great review as I’m looking to purchase a new camera as my 8Black is getting tired, we will be using it in a Boat fishing application and concerned about the waterproof of each of the unit as I don’t recall it being covered, we will definitely be doing some night fishing in low light as well as Dawn, Dusk and bright sunny days!. Leaning towards the 360 but I need it to be waterproof.
Thanks~
Aka, 99.7% the e x a c t same camera as the Ace Pro and from the samples way more over-processing. A boring mid-cycle half baked refresh just to make news.
Seems it would be hard to compare stabilization when 1 camera is much further off the center of the handheld post. Moving much more
hi i have a gopro hero 11 now and i was thinking of changing it with the ace pro 2. do you think it makes sense to make this change? i like making star trail videos do you think the ace pro 2 is ok?
I had the GoPro12 and I was very disapointed. It was overheating after 5-6 minutes on 4k60 and later after about 10 minutes on 4k30. I had to return it because I needed more than that on 4k
The Ace pro 2 has the best picture quality, the Action 5 pro is the lightest and most convenient, and the GoPro 13 is the GoPro 12 Plus
Action 5 pro something out of box and i believe in upcoming edition they will do some massive works
Upcoming edition of what? App?
