- We visited Sihanoukville in Cambodia in 2023. We were shocked how this City looked like... This Cambodian city felt on one side like being in little China, while it was on the other side like a ghost town... 🇰🇭 However, the people were so friendly and welcoming... But what happened here ?

Actually, Khmer people don’t care what country flags people wear. Believe it or not, we always been supportive of neighboring countries imports and products, it’s just when people start picking on us, that’s when we snapped back. 😊

Thais so self-centered thinking we Cambodia would even care that a tourist wears your flag. Cambodia treats everyone nicely and equally including the Thai tourists and worker. Unlike Thais who are so prejudice to all the neighbors especially Laos and Cambodian with so much disrespect. I’ve heard very bad experiences from my people when they visit Thailand. The only foreigners that Thai culture kiss ass is westerners because they almost begging for tourists😂

Sihanoukville 500 skyscraper under construction and a lot of building on hold and delay by Covid-19 crisis.
Phnom Penh was the same. Mercedes, Rolls Royce's. Big cars with small streets. 😄

Sihanoukville a lot of building built by Chinese but come from Taiwan Singapore and Hong Kong different Bangkok 90% built of Chinese from China Mainland, so Chinese living in Bangkok 2 million of Bangkok Population 8 million.

Most of the sign are written in simplified chinese characters which this type of character is only use in mainland China and this is why many thais look down on your poor country cause you have this kind of attitude toward other nations + you are so stupid enough that do not know that it is simplified chinese character or traditional chinese character.

You guys are over exaggerating things. I was there last year and I didn't even notice the difference between rich and poor. The city has grown so much and despite many unfinished buildings due to covid it is still a beautiful clean city. You guys just hate Chinese people. Btw, am Cambodian American. I would live to retire in Sihanoukeville
Nah I used to live there and have many friends who still do. Its a shithole. A ghost town in parts. These building will never be filled. The illegally kicked many Khmers off their land and sold out to the Chinese gambling dollar. Theres nothing beautiful about it. Oceteaul is ruined. Otres is still ok but again, a ghost town. It was a thriving place for tourism an dsmall khmer owned placed that were ripped apart. Khmers got building jobs but when thats over they dont have anything. They dont even employ Khmers in many chinese places. Add to that the Gang problem there now with the Chinese. Their utter disdain for the locals. Theres nothing remotely beautiful about it apart from my old friends. Luckily some Khmer business I knw did get good money from selling but they had too as the drainage was so bad their hotels would flood.
Nobody hates the Chinese but they have ruined the city, they believe because they have the money they can do whatever they want. It's awful now, I would never live there.
