its' funny, as a local here and see these plants all the time, i don't even appreciate them as much as you do, i look at them as 'they are just there all the time'. And here in Singapore, a lot of plant lovers are in love with overseas plants and those who are able to grow them well are often envied by other plant lovers. i guess, people often love things are foreign or exotic.
Thank u for visiting Singapore. I visited the nursery 5 or 6 years ago and still in love with it. I heard its going to open another outlet end of this year. Hopefully it's bigger or at least the same size as the one in Yishun! Do u know how we can grow Mediterranean herbs in the tropics? Tropical plants don't really faze us here coz we see them almost everywhere, even on the roadside but edible herbs like Thyme, vegetables like broccoli and fruit trees eg peach, apple, lemon would drive us crazy - the same amt of enthusiasm u have for tropical plants! Land is scarce here u see. While plants may be cheap, the area to grow them is very expensive! Something edible makes more sense than decorative. Also it's too green here, people pay more for flowers. Oh yes if u look at the exotic fruit trees in world farm, which may not be considered exotic up north eg Meyer Lemon, blackberry etc, they are super expensive! 🤣
Lovely video! I’m watching this tucked up in bed in the blue mountains, Australia. It’s freezing cold and might even snow overnight so watching plant shopping in the heat is great therapy ❤️
I so appreciate and enjoy your journeys that you take us on with you! It's the only way most of us will ever be able to see these places you travel to! Thank you!
Thank you. I was looking for their website and nothing specific with singapore world farm nursery came up but only Hua Hng. i was wondering thats when i read ur message. Thanks so much.
Had to look away from the opening few seconds as I can't bear seeing plants in cages ('battery plants'?). Am delighted that dear Kippee has such a lovely time. Birds are incredibly intelligent, as Kippee will no doubt attest, and the only place for them is where they're happy. She has obviously got it all going on, and is a massive support to Summer Rayne in her busy schedule. Most of the great environmentalists have all said that the wonderful support of a shrewd chicken is invaluable in their work. Seriously, I don't think I could imagine anything more wonderful than accompanying delicious Summer Rayne on a tour of Singapore gardens and nurseries. Your camera-person has THE dream job - unless of course it was a camera-chicken in charge of cinematography. That would make sense actually, as it is some rather nice camera work. Am drooling at the thought of the Musa varieties available in Singapore, plus Ravenalas, gingers and Aroids.
Wow nice explanations made easy to understand thank you beautiful...you really made me jealous after showing this beautiful tour in Singapore...AWESOME...😘❤👍
Those colorful Anthurium were a popular house plant in Germany years ago. My grandma actually had her's for over 30 years now and it's grown 'stems' more than 40cm tall, very impressive and sturdy.
This was such a fun video to watch! Most of us wont really get a chance to see other places like these and i really wish you made a bit of a longer video here. :) But yeah, this is good too. Thank you.
I think we'll be seeing some of those plants here as demand is high. I would have wanted to take so many home!!! Great video. My brother and sister-in-law are traveling the world and stopping in Singapore to see the sky gardens - sorry I can't remember the proper name. I sent them your videos so they can preview what they'll be seeing.
Very good coverage of plants there ... A lot many varieties and helped me a lot looking into the texture and need of specific plant species ... Thank you o knowledgeable one 😍🤗
OMG! I love watching your videos about plants.. Although majority of those plants are very common in my country. You make me appreciate it because of your blog🤩
@@ralphou I think you're supposed to have plant export paperwork, eg phytosanitary certificate etc. That's why wherever I go I bring plants back in my case and hope they don't get confiscated. I appreciate the sentiment behind controlling all that stuff, but when you consider the huge quantities of plants, vegetables etc that are exported/imported then surely anyone who knows plants can clean the soil off and dip the plant in Neem oil solution before wrapping it for travel. The time I wouldn't risk it is when we have things like Foot and Mouth disease, which occurred a few years back, and meant special measures for British flying overseas - ie we had to promise we hadn't been near an infected farm recently. Some tourists even had to walk through a disinfectant trough, but that was soon stopped.
That in the thumbnail, I luckily have it here. My sister's officemate gave it and said it symbolizes love and luck (maybe bc of the heart-shaped hanging from a leaf).
Omg I want to go to SG 😭😭😭 thank you for the plant envy!!! You got to check out Hawaii as well, they have endangered plants out there that are beautiful 💚
Welcome to singapore and this is my favourite place to go to when I need plants! Should I know you were here I would have gone down and say hi in my fan boy mood!!!!!
Hi . Would you like to see original Braham Kamal flower from my garden 🌷 th-cam.com/video/5KHPPIb2oe4/w-d-xo.html 🌷 Brahma Kamal, named after Brahma, the God of Creation, probably blooms only for one night in the entire year, somewhere between July and September. It is commonly known as Night blooming Cereus, Queen of the night, Lady of the night as its beautiful Lotus like flower blooms late night.🌷🌷 hope you like it 🌼🌻
Hi Joeel, How much do you end up paying for a $10 plant once they've added GST (some sort of tax I imagine)? The prices seem ridiculously low, and am wondering about organising a container that many of us can club together to pay for. If phyto etc wasn't too dear surely it would make sense, and is no doubt how our domestic nurseries and garden centres acquire stock.
Beautiful plants, so sad none could come home with you, and the prices were awesome. Thanks once again for a wonderful video. Have a great day see you soon, bye for now
Propagation ofamong tropical plants is easy in the region unlike in some cold continents they can hardly thrive because of seasonal interventions like autumn or winter yet it depends on agricultural practises...,
