I just acquired a little over 3 acres in Arkansas right in the heart of where I spend a lot of time trout fishing, etc. So, guess I'll be building at least two log places now. You know I just have to have a log cabin for my fish camp. :)

We bought land last summer and got a mortgage for part of it through a local branch of Farm Credit. You might also try credit unions. You don't have to pay cash for the whole thing, but interest rates are a little higher and loan percentage is lower, meaning you usually need a good 25% or more down payment, but financing is possible. He did not point out that the driveway might cost a lot of money. Possible yes, but you could spend $30k on land and then $10 -20k on a tricky driveway, so do your homework before you buy! Good luck!

Would have been nice if you added the cost of the driveway and the cost of the lot.
Just put a culvert in, if zoning and the EPA and local regulations allow it.
