    You're one of the only restoration channels (other than the mad lad himself My Mechanics) who genuinely takes this incredible level of pride in their work. Keep it up, and I hope you never lose your passion.
    Really nice to see some woodworking in this one!

    • @jadawin10
      @jadawin10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I find that this channel and My Mechanics do not do the same job. One restores while respecting the history and epoch of the object and the other recondition as when they were brand new and often revises the object. I prefer the first...

      If you like a good restore, check out Chip Channel Restoration and Rescue & Restore channels. They're both top notch.
      And if you really like old school tools, check out Hand Tool Rescue, which is one of the most clever/ humorous restoration channels. He mostly restores power tools from the 1800's to the 1960's, his Sally Saw is out of this world

      The ones I've seen have two straight blades and each blade is controlled by a long handle.

    • @Diceman83
      @Diceman83 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a very interesting design.. much nicer on wrists compared to the straight blade design (which involves smashing it into the ground repeatedly). However, this spinning design would be halted by the first rock you hit. Straight blade post hole diggers can grab and pull rocks of reasonable size out.

    Greetings LADB. Very nice work. That tool has centuries of evolution to it. So nice to see you cutting post, ummm tree holes with it. There is a serenity and feeling of peace with the world, while watching that. Such a great contrast to the greed and sociopathic behaviour of so many "leaders". Thank you and all the best wishes.

  • @channelsixtysix066
    @channelsixtysix066 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Fine restoration. I like how that auger action works on this tool. Having never seen one like this, I was interested in how the wedges came into play, brilliant idea. I'm restoring some bit-braces and after I clean and polish the steel, I'm going to used a very hard-setting, clear lacquer to protect it against corrosion, similar to what is used here.
    Your channel is a wealth of ideas and techniques that someone like me can access and apply, I can't thank you enough for this valuable info. Cheers.
