"Only bored as I get older
Find the ways to (cult)
Cult of time
Only bored as I get older
Find new ways to spend my time
I'm a gold digging man
Find my money, find my land
I'm a gold digging man
I won't rest 'til I buy your land
Sweetness cums suffering
In sweetness comes suffering
I won't rest till I can't breath
I can't breath with you
Looking at me
I get bored as I get older
Can you help me figure this out?
Come on, dream on:
"I lived on a table - I don't know where to go. I know my friends would. . . I know where my friends are now. I lived on a farm, yeah. I never lived on a farm. Where did my friends go? Where did my friends go?"
What do you do when you're sleeping?
Where did you go when you said:
"I don't need nobody on my bond"
Where do your friends go?
Where do they see you?
What did you want to be?
Ahh shut the hell..

Did a heroic dose of mushrooms and when this song came on I cried like I was a baby. Best cry I've ever had
8:10 I freaking love this little outro ... its like a secret track inside a track
There’s a certain flavor of sadness that sets in with this song. It’s a place I return to again and again. “Only bored as I get older. Can you help me figure this out?” But no one is there to help you figure it out. Such devastatingly beautiful lyrics throughout. “I’m a gold, gold digging man. I won’t rest til I buy your land” illustrates the futile pursuit of satisfaction through material wealth. “In sweetness comes suffering” demonstrates the lovelorn plight of the hopeless romantic. “I can’t breathe with you lookin at me” is the scrutiny from the person you want to please the most. This song encapsulates the helpless journey of young adulthood inviting you to cry and laugh along in bliss accepting the inevitable.
A Song dedicated to the late, great Jimmy Lee Lindsey Jr aka Jay Reatard RIP
WAIT ACTUALLY?
@@ninanando yep, apparently
Every freaking second of this song is melancholy bliss
Been listening to this song for 15 years maybe and it means something different every few years. Always beautiful
best song on the album
Just re-visited "Halcyon Digest" for the first time in a loooong time.. great album, this is a definite standout track.
That man has an ear for music that I haven't heard before. Has anyone heard music like this ? I don't know about the band, besides that they're very talented, but this skinny guy is a musical God!!! Up there with the greatest of all time!!! Hope he and his band can KIT because his music (and the bands, I do not know who else writes or helps with writing the music) will always be remembered.
soooo true I love deerhunter their music is very dreamy and weird at the same time you should also check out Melody echo chambers she's awesome
Were you being sarcastic when you wrote this?
Either way, I do agree with most of what you said, and dearly and truly love these guys. I hope they stick around at least a little while longer because damn do miss seeing and hearing live music.
@@SR91313 no sarcasm intended.
@@stevehd111 -i hear ya👌
Also I just realized that your original comment was 7 years old😄 btw, have you had a chance to see them live yet?
@@SR91313 wow it was. I’m surprised because I keep going back to this song and recently shared this video with a friend. I haven’t seen them live yet
Their rendition of Jay Reatard’s “Oh, It’s Such a Shame” split (then he does “Florescent Grey”) is so good I realized this band can do exactly what they want. And while I’m in love 70’s style punk and was spellbound with the raw yet stylistic anger Jay could bring to songs, I respect Deerhunter for what they do and would never assume to underestimate them. This is the sort of music that can sneak up on you!
to hear this live it gives me goosebumps can these guys be any more cooler
I cry, I fucking cry all the time
Found this gem quite by accident. Fantastic song and good to hear it live. Should have been a massive single.
